And the satisfaction that you are driving a car that isn’t common. Not that Vipers are common, but I see more of them than Ferraris or Lamborghini’s.

LincolnRacer: thats what i thought too at first then i realized...these cars are tested on the audbond in which cases there are no limits to how fast you drive drag cars that are puched to the limits can't last for that long?...and also to them they are not looking at how fast you can go in 1/4 of a mile its to see how long you can hold 190-210mph on and off and how hard you can hit turns wit out losing control!cold_zero: that is true...a friend of mine went to Italy and said that you see lambos and ferraris just as much as you see vipers depending on were you are at. they are also cheap as hell one is b/c of currancy

yeah that is taking the car out of context. There is a Countach on okinawa, it tried drag racing a GT-R and got schooled. Now if the GT-R tried to get the Ghini on the expressway it would be a different story. I had a guy in a hogged out drag 240Z try me on the highway and I walked him like a dog in a basically stock GTS-T but that car wasn't built to run top end so he was kind of stupid for even trying. Gotta remember what the car was designed for.

out of the wonderful magazine IMport Tunner, they said, "And there is no doubt the new WRX is the next best thing to a Nissan Skyline-hoere on this continent anyway" are they forgeting about the Z, G35, supra, 300ZX TT, S200, NSX, the list goes on.

i took my hub caps of to make the car lighter..i cut my springs for stability...i tuned my aluminium wing up wards "~~ > instead of~~ <" (if i had pencile and paper i would of drew it out for ya but this is the best i could do) to imporve my downforce on my front whell drive car.i have to avoid all bumps now since my car is lower then the bottom of my rims b/c if i don't, my cd player would skip..."my car caught on fire. it was a small fire though and then it just grew" 'why didn't you use your fire extinguisher' "well its for show in there isn't any thing in it"...

yea i also had a person at nopi standing next to me when i was checking out Signal's s15. buddy comes up next to me in awe and tells his kid that that is a skyline, so i wait untill i hear him say it again and then tell him its a silvia and if he wanted to see the skyline to walk to the other side of the tent.

Couple of guys at school had new Civics last year. One kid had a Silver one with a muffler, rims, gay lights, racing seat belt pads, etc. we called it the Travis Murry racing package. another guy tried to tell me that VTEC was like a turbo. I just kinda stood there and looked at him.

just tell them that the car is still slower than yours, even though it has turbo (the VTEC). then see what they say.

Mid 12's? i'm assuming turbo awd version, but i don't think they can be that fast with 2k in mods.

dsm turbos can be made fast as all get out with very little money spent. Some rare ones might be able to hit twelves with 2k spent on them.

Question is, would you really want to be in a Neon that does 140mph? I would feel safer in a Q than a Neon doing that speed.

There's an OLD (Carbeurated) Sprint that drives around and I see it every once in a while. It's Blue, lowered, has 3 chrome mags and one stock steel rim (I think they're 13's), a chrome gas cap, some sort of exhaust with a HUGE tip and a sticker on the back window that says "This decal adds 10 HP"

At least he knows he's rice...

But I really shouldn't talk...I have a 83 civic 1500GL S that I used to drive around...I had red and black velvet seat covers, red antenna ball, hacksawed short shifter, red petals and checkerboard floormat and (this is the kicker) a red R spray painted on the passenger front fender. I had a mp3 player in it with 2 4" speakers up front, a pair of 6.5's in the door, a pair of 6.5's in the back seat and in the hatch I had 2 10"s (one was in a custom cardboard box), 2 8"s and 2 2" tweeters all running off the same 2 channel 120watt Mobile authority amp (bought for $20) I used to race everything just to lose but once I raced a POS rustbucked l4 Mustang and WHOOPED it...I could NOT believe it...this was last summer and I am STILL bragging about it and I don't even drive the thing anymore...great car though...took it mudding and everything...still runs great! Currently restoring...heh my parents think I'm crazy.

neons hitting 140???I have a friend with a 95 Eclipse RS (All non turbo second gen eclipses except the convertibles, had the Chrysler 420A powerplant found also in the neons) and he runs 16s with just an intake. his wont go past 120mph. If I'm not mistaking an eclipse body is noticeably lighter. As for the comment the guy made "fair ammount of engine work", to get a Neon with a 420A in the 14s and to 140mph, you need a whole hell of a lot than a "fair ammount of engine work"

LOL i just read this knot to long ago it goes like this teh kid has an auto 92ish 3000gt. it has bomex BK, two mufflers, tv head unit, racing heart C2's, and i think that is it. (if i allread posted this part, then disregarde it) ME: hey bro whats up wit the front of your bumper, the paint is chipped.HIM: thats what happens when your goign 100mph on 295ME: funny there is a few ppl around my way that have super cars. this one guy has a Viper GTS and i seen him on the freeyway and he allways at like 95-110 and his paint isnt' chipped same wit this one kid that i know who dad owns a 360 modena. He told me that he hit 135 before and his paint never chipped. HIM: well there cars are nbot as low as my (stock suspension) 3000gt

now wit the new thing that i just read same guy mind ya, i think i found a beater it's an 88 starion turbo and makes est. 300hp. it runs 13's and im goign to be putting some other things in the engine too. This kid knows nothing about engines at all. now tell me. If you have a beater car that beats your show car, shouldn't you reconsider what your doing to your show car??? LOL i just remember, to all those who went to philly HIN his car was there. the red 3000GT. all my boys went and seen his car and they were like "yo, his cars sucked. there really wasn't anything done to it. in these type of shows, you need like everythign you think of done too your car and his well, his was like a stock car"

man a 300hp starion. dont they make like 165 factory a 300hp beater is one hell of a built beater. if it really exists. if i were him id sale the 3000 and just build the hell out of the starion. but ricers are dumb.

all free mods,K&N Air filterbored .030 over,8.0:1 compression raised from 7.0:1,88 ECU,TD-05 14G Turbo (Stock turbo is a TD-05 12A),3 port wastegate accuater for 10.5psi instaed of 7psi,2.5" mandrel bent down pipe with 2.5" exhaust with highflow cat and MagnaFlow muffler with stock looking twin tips.MSD Blaster 2 coil, HKS Compressor-By-Pass, Balance Shaft elim, Dual Pillar Pod With Autometer Boost and A/F Gauges, A/C removed for weight savings

and this is what i plan to have installed:

Magnecor racing wires, Blitz DSBC Spec R Boost Controller,New Marnel Head without Jet Valves,Port and Polish, 3-Angle valve job, roller cam, Heavy Duty valve springs, Stainles Steal Valves

To get a Neon in the 14s you need at least a stage 2 turbo, reprogrammed ECU, intercooler, forged pistons, fuel pump, injectors and the obvious intake and exhaust. That in my opinion IS a whole hell of a lot more that a "fair ammount of engine work". Unless you want to blow up you engine with nitrous, but then that would be just plain stupid...

There is a kid witha 95 civic hatch and a B16A swap and it sounds like a really loud weed eater (NO exageration sp?), It's not rice but he is *a little*optimistic like: " I'm gonna get a greddy stage III turbo and have 350HP and run 11s" But the funniet s*** was the other day when he was like: "Dude, What kind of exhaust do you have, it sounds realy good"

ME "well it's a MagnaFlow but really its mostly just because my engine has almost a litre more displacement that yours"

HIM "No, its because I have an Apexi N1 and they are high pitched, I'm gonna get a GReddy and they are lower sounding."

Ok whatever...

hes not bad but you just cant even have a smart disscusion with some people, ya know?

Why is it that ricers just love huge exhausts? If your car is not turbo don't put a 3" exhaust on it. You loose backpreasure and that equals to less low end torque which is bad for drag racing.Even some turbos don't even need exhausts that big...I know that when you have a turbo a better flowing exhaust will let you spool up faster, but if you are going to do that then just take off the exhaust and just leave the downpipe. My friend said once "If I can fist**** your exhaust, then its too big"...
