i've heard they can break off and ruin your turbo and engine. i think i'm going to do a custom remote mount for the oil pressure, oil temp, and idiot light.

first off, I think my oil temp probe is 1/8 NP (is that NPT or just NP?) I don't feel like spending 30 bucks on a sandwich plate. I'd rather buy some fittings and do it that way, how are you planning to customize yours?

Like FSU said, the easy way is to remote mount the sensor. I just ordered a bspt fitting so I could use npt fittings and remote mount the gauge's sending unit.

Using the sandwich adapter was pretty easy IMO. Just getting to the filter was the hard part.

I made a thread about how I'm probably going to mount my gauge sending units. You can see it here.

Did you end up going with the sandwich adapter? How hard was it (and the filter after) to tuck under the manifold?

Hey FSU, was wondering where you get your bango bolt that bolts into the block for the turbo oil line (below the water line, next to the motor mount)? Anyways, hows the engine? I see you bought a new front cover.

The banjo bolt came with the taka lines. The engine is good, just the leak coming from that crap oil pump/front cover and a tiny leak coming from the upper water neck. I'm pulling the engine again in a couple weeks to change out the front cover, change the mounts, and get all my gauge stuff installed. Then, when all that stuff is done... paint.

- The guy at enthalpy told me I would be safe with 555's at 19psi as long as I'm on 93 octane. I just leave my BC set at 19psi all the time and never floor it so I don't boost that much unless I really want to.- duty cycle is determined by my chipped ECU, done by enthalpy. - Crack pressure? not sure what you mean by that...?

yeah i have the truboost. basically since there are only 2 buttons you have to navigate the menu by either pressing one button, pressing both, or holding either combination of them. There should be instructions in the box, just follow the little tree.

Off the top of my head, while it's on, hold both buttons for like 5 seconds and then hit the left one for Prg A or right for B, then press left for up and right for down to set the boost limit.

You installed yours in there or where the idiot light is? What is the thread pitch of that thing? What is that?

I installed it where that big plug is on top of what I believe is the oil temp sensor (I forget so not 100% sure). The plug had a spring underneath, I have no idea what it is. This is one of those things that I NEEDED AN S13 SR FSM BECAUSE THERE NOT THE ****ING COMPLETELY THE SAME THING AS AN S14 (I made a thread asking for it and you guys were giving me ****- bastards).......I have no idea what the pitch was, sorry. All I know is that the ultra lite autometer oil temp sensor and the provided fitting fit, with the washer that was already there and a rubber washer, worked and I was able to torque it down..

that sounds kinda shady taking that thing out if it has a spring on it. I'm sure the spring was there for something... maybe. But, then again, if it's not causing any problems then who cares?

I have a defi oil temp gauge and I wish I knew where I could install it before I drop this thing in... there's a nismo oil tee on courtesyparts.com ...not sure if I could use that... says it's for oil press.

http://www.courtesyparts.com/M...3-GTA

Or I could just undo the pressure sender and screw in the defi temp sensor, imma go try that.. i'll tell you what happens... brb

I just took of the sender thing and tried to put my oil temp in... the probe part was hitting that spring thing so I took that bolt off and took the spring with it.. now the defi temp probe fits right in... SO, will this cause any complications now that I have taken the spring out.. what is the spring's use anyway???

I'm not sure, maybe someone should make a thread asking what that is. I couldn't find it in the FSM.

hmm, well I got my temp sensor in the oil sender port.. sweet. Whats the most a spring could do? I felt down int here with my finger and didn't really feel anything strange.. just the walls of the ... whatever it is... plate?

I decided to just weld a bung in the oil pan for the oil temp and i'm remote mounting the pressure sending unit to the strut tower using stainless line.

Build coming along nicely. Long time ago i checked out S13 with sr20 swap done like ****. Wiring not done, mist parts taken off, and the guy he drove it. Didn't have the money, but could've bought it for about $2500. Had apexi exhaust and fn's on it. :|

I feel ya when you dig deeper and find more crap undone or done poorly, but you came a long way already. Keep it up!

Man Pulling the engine and putting back in. Hows the coolant and oil? Spill? Re-use? Try and keep as much as you can? Hopefully you'll get the rear main seal retainer. How did it crack btw? Too much torque? BTW, I been meaning to ask but hows the setup with your maf being close to your manifold and turbo? I may have to do that since I cant find the stock pipe for sale. Thanks for any info.
