Thanks,Moe

spacers from egay, universal 4 lug like $10 or something. probably will vibrate at high speeds because they are not hubcentric. I'm just using them temporarily until I get a real suspension setup because everything changes with coilovers.

I never liked the look of those things. why not just buy a 1/8npt tape, a drillbit, and a 1/8npt barb fitting? probably would of cost less and looked better.

Hey Josh, was wondering, how did you take off your front cover/oilpump? I didnt want to rish breaking off a piece since theres groovers for my flat head screw driver to fit and hammer. Its really tough and I can get anything slim enough to slide and start prying. I got my crank pulley off and replaced my front seal. I probably wont take it off unless I replace the seal again so just wondering how you did it? Btw, hows the progress so far on your car?

Make sure you have all the bolts. You have to take the valve cover off to get to the 2 that are inside the head. You also have to remove the CAS to get to one of them. And, you have to take off the upper and lower oil pan to get to those bolts.

My car should be done, mechanically, whenever I get the new spring for my BOV in. If that fixes the BOV of course. Then I'm moving on to exterior stuff, lowering springs, front body kit, new hood, sideskirts, paint, tint. I'm also gonna build a custom box for my sub and amp I think.

My parts should be coming in sometime next week, hopefully.

well thats kind the point, correct me if im wrong...they are stiff so the motor is more "firm" on acceleration, kinda like the same point of an engine tourque dampener.

correct, with a firm or solid mount a good bit of vibration is normal.

I'm getting them because I have solid aluminum mounts now, and I can't deal with them since my car is a daily driver. I can't even talk on my cell phone they are so loud. Maybe these won't be much better, if they are still too firm, I'll sell them and get nismos's. I had nismo's on my built SOHC in my 2nd 240 and they didn't vibrate much at all.

I've heard of people complaining about their nismos being to hard for DD. I ordered all new oem mounts.

I have nismo mounts that i reinforced with liquidnails. i have not driven on them though. I do not care about the noise or vibration though. I kind of like the idea of being able to get female passengers off.

a coment like that = "I've never had a "real" girl friend before." LOL, I'm kidding, I'm kidding but seriously A friend of mine has Energy Suspension motor mounts (the red ones) in his dsm (yes I know its a dsm) and they vibrate so much I don't like to ride with him, it gives me a headache. They are so stiff his dashboard moves up and down when he shifts hard.

Yeah, now that I think of it, if its tight enough it should seal properly. But it seems like a quick fix vs. a actual nipple in a hard pipe.

Having ridden in the car, I can tell you its not like the back seat on a Harley Davidson. The dash rattles so loud you can't hear the exhaust. FSU and I had to shout to each other so we could carry on a conversation, definitely too loud for a DD.

Haven't been on here in a while.

I figured out at least one of the coilpacks was bad so I ordered 4 new from nissan. Also, installed a sheet-metal splash gaurd/skid plate. I got a new hood.

Now I'm ordering gauges and getting all of my body stuff planned and getting ready for paint.

a recent picture, (still ghetto)

Ah yes I-10 is fun, but 150mph on stock suspension must of been a little scary but I can't really say anything, I tested my TRE on the gixxer on I-10 by getting up to an indicated 186mph

i put used sportlines on some tokico blue's on the front and the rear shocks are blown, that should be adequate for those speeds... lol

Ordered:- New Oil Pump/Front cover (all that work I did to stop the leak didn't work)- New Coolant temp sensor (hopefully will clear up my high/rich idle thing)- Nismo mounts

If anyone needs a new oil pump I just got a brand new for cheap, just ask.

Ordered:- 180sx marker lights for my aero bumper- oem sideskirts- oil pressure, oil temp, and water temp gauges- ati steering column pod

I'm trying to figure out how to hook up my oil gauges, sandwich adapter seems like a good idea. I know this looks shady as crap, but what do you think about this thing? ebay adapter They said if I had any problems they would refund me but not shipping or restocking fee.

I know greddy makes one too but it's like $60.

Pics up later... 3 exams today

That one looks kinda shady. I have a Trust/Greddy one and it was worth the 70 bucks. It installed like a charm.

http://www.splparts.com is where you want to go for the fitting for your oil pressure gauge, they sell the bspt fitting that will thread into where the stock sending unit goes. You can also get a t fitting that will let you use the stock sender as well as the the one for the gauge. I just ordered one, it was $15 shipped.

Cant you use this? I installed my autometer oil temp with the fitting provided. I already installed the fitting and all it needs is the sensor so I plugged it up for now.

Yes actually you can but doesn't that remove the idiot light on the dash? Some motors throw codes when that is removed IIRC.

I have the Defi oil temp sensor, I guess I can use the same fitting for the pressure sensor and hook into the stock oil sender location? Is that good placement?
