Not sure if this has been posted or not, but everyone i have talked to had to idea about it, so i thought i would contribute.

Parts needed:Wire CuttersBell cap (optional)

well this is actually a pretty easy trick. find the headlight button that makes the headlights come up and down without turning them on, and pull it out. you should just be able to wiggle it out, but it will come out.

locate the brown wire on the back of the button, and cut it. if you would like, you can put that bellcap on it, to make sure that it doesnt short to anything. then re-install the button by pushing it in.

after its re-installed, press the buttton in, and turn on the headlights, and then turn the headlights off. the headlights should stay up.

to get them to set where you want press the "modified" button in and out until it reaches wanted height. the button basically acts like a "hold" button for the headlights.. so when its pressed in it will hold them in place.. when its out, they will work like normal

thats it!!!have fun.. im me if you have questionsaim:kickertumsn:[email protected]

when you turn the lights off the assemblies go down normally?Do you have to press the "modified" button in and out again to set them or will they return to your desired height? Good trick ! Thanks for the info!

now this seems pretty easy.

but, if you want the lights to function normally without touching this button, do you just make sure you hold in the button till they go all the way down?

Will the system then stop once the lights are fully retracted or will the lights keep flipping up and down if you keep your finger in on the switch?

What's up everybody... I just wanted to let everyone know that my brother and I both did this quick modification on our 240's and IT WORKS WONDERFULLY... Plus you don't have to have a stupid-looking non-stock control switch to control the headlights! The headlights work normally when the button is not depressed. Give it a try! Cost: $0.00 (If you've already got a wire cutter and some electrical tape to wrap up the cut wire tips)

I just completed this mod and it works well. I find it jars the lights pretty good but it's a good trick for at shows and such without having to adjust the lifting arm mechanisms every time you go from show to street. Good tips guys!:D

works ok, although on some, like mine, the motors won't stop at the same height so i have to manually adjust them anyway

Yeah, while I was detailing the car today, my friend actually did it within a few minutes. I like the look, looks very clean :)

it also increase hp because with the light adjusted to the right angle the light would allow more into the intake.:ylsuper

so this is so the headlights dont retract then? but they do retract when you turn the headlights on and then off?

so when you just push the button, they go up but not down?

i think i'll pass on this one.

When you do this:

-You can't raise the headlights with the push button anymore, just the headlight switch

-When the headlights are raised up, you can press the push button repeatedly to make your headlights go down to where you want them.

Very similar to other methods seen here except it doesn't use anything that didn't come with your car. So, unless you want to keep the ability to raise your headlights without actually turning them on, it's worth a try. Hope this answers your question and feel free to correct anything I messed up on.

i just did it earlier today (like i said i was). your headlights will raise and lower like normal, but when the "modified" button is at work, it holds them in wut ever position you want. i think this was a kool *** idea/trick. as soon as my friend found out i could do this, he wanted me to do his. you have nothing to lose when you do this. unless you just like lifting up your headlights w/o having them on for no reason.

Nope.

I"m kinda shying away from the lazy-eye look lately, because when I do it, I always get question from people like "what's wrong with your headlights?"

if you turn them on using this setup they will drop to the bottom then cycle to full open as normal.

I just did the mod, literally 2 minutes. You get the lazy eye look and you don't give up any of the standard controls. Awesome DIY mod Kickertu.

good mod but for those of you who live in the colder regions, this might be a bad idea.the switch is there for a reason so you can have your lights up without them on. this is only needed when your lights get frozen and won't move(daytime of course.). just my .02

hey annunziato39 I'm from NY. too. i grew up in springvalley. do you know where that is.

Hey Scruffy I live in Nanuet. And Scruffy is right about the cold areas. It was a little cold this morning and the motors were a little slow to just pop the lights up and i had to warm the car up before they worked properly, still a good mod, just a little heads up for all you guys who see snow in March.
