because it's already been done. All I need to figure out is how to turn the lights on.

the method u came up with wont work with the lights on unless u install a switch .. if u turn on the lights the lights will go up .. when u turn them off theyll stay in the up position .. i tried all kinds of different ways .. i ended up shorting the relay for the lights and installing a switch .. i can do what your mod does but u cant put them down with out triggering the motor .. so whether u use black_s13s method or not ur still installing a switch ... and i think it easier to just short the relay with a solid wire then removing the fuse box ... anyways .. im drunk tonite .. ;) so if there is a better way of doing it do it ... mine works so what do i care .. night

EDIT: Dont Drink and type .. lol too many **** ups .. heh

whoa fell asleep .. heh like i said .. under the hood on the passenger side .. there is a fuse box .. in there, there is only one relay for the lights ... get a good solid wire .. if u dont have any use a damn paperclip .. short out #4 and #6 .. meaning bend and cut so it isnt to long and connect 4 and 6 together .. then install a switch on that same wire u been talking about on the factory switch which controls the the lights to go up and down .. u all should know what im talking about .. thats all .. if i have to go step by step i will .. but for now im drunk .. and passing out .. i know i said id look at it but i didnt use the car today because im working on a honda swap which is my main concern now .. damn vacuum lines grrrrrr ... any ways lemme know if u need some sober info .. ill hit it up better .. even if i gotta scan the damn diagram .. ;) night all

black_s13, So to adjust your "sleepy eyes" you turn your headlights On and hit the "splice" switch Off stopping them at the desired position. And the lights are On! Nice, I like your method.

But hey any you guys use electrical tape!?? ;)

not Exactly..."brown wire"method Only gives you Adj. "sleepy eyes"; black_s13's "baby blue wire" method gives you Adj. "sleepy eyes" :WITH LIGHTS ON!

And isn't that what were all after??

There is also a much much easier way of doing black_s13's "baby blue wire" method.

The way I did it:

Removed panel for the fuses (foot panel).

Locate fuse number 15. Should be 5w.

From there, take out the fuse and just extend cables directly from the fuse holder (nr 15). Attach another fuseholder and a switch to the already extended cables. From here you can simply place the switch anywhere you`d like, as long as the cables are long enough! :)

And excuse my bad english. Not used to write in english forums.. :D

And by the way: This method works perfect!

Sin, thats exactly the same thing, just an easier way to do it, good idea. anywhere you break that circuit will have the same effect, i guess i chose the tightest spot possible :)

out of curiosity, is there any hope for those of us with a lazy motor? I always have to adjust mine after i set them (brown wire method).

also what good is having the lights on? =/ i mean, unless you go to shows or something.

Have you tried greasing up the headlight? Take it apart and do a little cleanup maybe?

And surely, at night, in comination with foglight, etc, it IS much cooler with the lights on...

My 2 cents!

what good is having the lights up? unless you take the actualy light out everytime, the airflow isnt gonna help much. the only reason to do any of this is cause it looks cool, having the lights on just makes it look even cooler.

SinIC, How do you attach wires to the fuse inlet without fear of thempopping out and shorting? And what does nr15 mean?

Got any pics or how 'bout your ride?

Thanks ;)

I was just messing around in my lucky box of garbage. There i found 2 connectors that fit right in to the fuseholder. They sat pretty tight, so i dont think they will slip out. Anyway, it would not be a problem since the circut are "shorted" originally. :) When you do this method you just break the circut with the switch to stop your headlamps in the position you want.

Nr 15 means fuse number 15! :) If you look carefully enough, you will see that the fuses are numbered!

And you are out of luck about the pictures. I have borrowed my digital camera away this weekend.. :D

Sweet, I will go to the AutoPart's store later today to see if I can find something reliable and safe to use in connecting the wires to the fuse nr15. I have a digi cam, and will try to post this in a detailed yet simplified manner.

Again many Thanks to: Kickertu "the originator", black_s13"the Man" and SinIC " the innovator" for this cheap *** mod! This Forum iz the shi*!! :rockon

If the headlights are in sleepy mode, and you are driving at night doesnt it make it really hard to see?

d a m n this post is crusty:DWell, unfortunately I haven't got around to the sleepy eye post w/ pics yet; my daily driver broke down and I had to source an a/t for my beloved "white"240 that was a 700 mi. roundtrip, anyway I've been busy as "F" to say the least. As soon as I get that dam n transmission in I'll provide yinz guyz with a detailed Tech Report. C-ya;)

sleepy eyes are NOT for night driving unless you install shorter profile projector headlights. It's just for the COOL LOOK and also to funnel in air to the INTAKE while driving with the lights off during the day. correct me if i'm wrong....

I am new to this forum, so I'll make my first post a good one.

I have seen or heard of all of these methods before and even a few that arent mentioned (shortening the rods), but none are as cool as the method I am working on.

I am assuming that everyone discussing this knows how the headlights work. If not then unplug your headlight motors at the grey connectors, manually crank them halfway up and turn on your lights. Your lights will stay on and you will have sleepy eyes. But who wants to get out of their car, pop the hood, wind up each motor, make sure they are even, unplug the motors, then get back in the car? No one does.

So the problem is in the headlamp timer. How I see it, there are 2 ways around this.

You could either a) reprogram the headlamp timer to stop in a different on position (not sure if this is possible) or b) program a microcomputer with the commands it would need to raise, lower, sleepy eye, and maybe even wink the lights.

If choice B was chosen, you could cut off or unpin/repin the connectors from the harness to the motor and attach those at the end of the microcomputers wires.

This may sound like a lot of work, but wouldnt it be cool to have something like this? I am going to try both of these shortly and will let all know how it turns out. Who knows, if the microcomputer method isn't too difficult I might see if i can't sell them.
