id have to agree that koni/gc would be the way to go, ive done some reading on them and it would deff be my preffered track setup...

slammage does not equal faster. on my current coilovers i had my car set just to where the lca's were parallel to the ground and i decided to lower it an extra inch just for the looks of it. u can deff feel the difference, the roll centers all fked up and body roll has increased. alignments prob fked up though but im not looking to track it just yet. maybe later on ill change the pickup points.

for now im more or less settled on a set of stances, eventually ill go the whole way with 8611s all around, and custom eibachs, coupled with gc sleeves, and veilsides custom housings, for now i want to know what modifications i need to make the stock suspension work with the z32 uprights in the winter, thats basically what i need to know. what do i do? modify stock units, use z32 units?

What do you mean? You are going to use z32 aluminum rear uprights on your S13?

If so, you will need z32 rear coilovers and s13 front coilovers.

The rear z32 aluminum upright mounting to the coilover will be different.

s14, a 1995 bro those are s14 zenkis. I already settled the problem for the coilovers, my problems with the stock suspension, which ill be using for the winter, i dont want to swap uprights at the end of fall and when snow starts to fall.

I went with kw variant 3 coilovers. I really recommend them to anyone looking for one.

I had the coice between used Tein flex's and brand new Megans. I went with the Megan streets...I'm not building a track car or anything so I guess they should be good.

I changed my mind just a while ago. But to answer your question I rode a s13 hatch, and I have to say if you have that money absolutely go for it. it is fantastic.

Now im going with nismo s-tune strut spring coilover unit . half the price fantastic ride, good handling fantastic with a good set of sway bars.

Why am I downgrading? I would be driving the car in the winter so the sleeved kw setup wont work well, plus my budget for my 240 got a major cut, and skyline project budget got a slight bump (200mph is more expensive than i originally thought)

could i be real honest with you? megans are only good if you intend to slam the ride real low, the ride is pretty stiff, I rode the local ones, the nismo ones oddly enough seem to be the best bang for the buck street coil set.

Weird cuz nismo stuff is usually expensive.

But the ride in the nismo is fantastic, and it does give a reasonable drop as well.

And quick review.KWs rule as do the hipermax II, so if you have the money, and can find one and have the cash, look no further.Megans as i said are for the super slammed look.Ksport suck donkey nuts(That goes for their brakes as well)Nismos arent adjustable in any way, but is a solid choice.Koni Yellows, if you know what you are doing better than nismo for a few hundred dollars and the righ spring rate, if you dont know how to spec your damper and springs stick with the nismo.

I have the KWs and they are great.....highly recommended. One of the best coilovers for the 240sx or any car.

One thing people should notice about KW is that they have softer, almost stock spring rates in all their coils. The reason for this is because while stiffer springs support the body of the car the damper actually keeps the tires planted and the chasis stable.

KW coilovers are designed to work with a cars stock suspension thats why they work so well. With other options you have to build your car around the coilovers.

This is exactly why I bought KW. Also, stock spring rate is around 115lb/in front/rear, and the KW coillovers are 340lb/in front and 230lb/in rear, so that is a good improvement (I believe Peak Performance sells the V3's with 450lb/in front and 330 lb/in rear, but for more money, I could be wrong though). The only minor issue I see is the design of the dust boot. Some have complained that is doesn't self center like it is supposed to, leaving a small area of the piston rod exposed to the elements.. Have you had this problem at all?

I haven't heard of this problem, but I don't know any 240sx guys with these coilovers.....the BMW, Audi, and Evo guys I have seen w/ KWs love them and didn't mention any issues like this.
