yeah, i'm nuttier than a SAMs club jar of jiff son, play with it....

well another update, got all my clutch stuff on, then my back started hurting (being laid up for 24 days in the jail with no physical activity will make your endurance go to ****), i also cleared out 2/3 of my back yard which hasn't been maintained in over 4 years, overgrown and like a jungle on the real... i think i heard Tarzan back there....

all i did was the clutch, which was kind of a pain in the *** with the flywheel bolts... all i had was a ratchet wrench to get the 8 bolts on and it didn't want to seat right till the very end... at least now all i have to do is bolt the transmission up, install fuel rail, coil packs and she's ready to be dropped in the car tomorrow...

anyways, on with pics and captions...

everything ready, bearing puller, ACT 6 puck unsprung clutch, fidanza flywheel, and F1 pressure plate...got the flywheel on, man it was a pain in the ***.... i wish i had more tools, it would have been a breeze then... took me almost 20-25 minutes to get it tightened down right...ACT 6 puck unsprung FTMFW!!!! get your left leg strong like bull for doriftos... gotz more grip than my lady on my mushroom tip son....cheap busted *** F1 pressure plate... lets hope it's up to par with the ACT and the Fidanza....

not much, but it's all downhill from here..... motor goes in tomorrow... hopefully get a start up by night fall.....

stay tuned....

well guys, i've done massive amounts of work today.....

pics and captions.... AND START UP VIDEO!!! as bad as the start up was... will fill in at the end....

starting for the day.... first step, transmission.... wasn't too too bad to put on... could have been worse....so i decided to rock the rocker arm stoppers, no value on engine insurance...for ****s and giggles, i want to show you guys the difference in my heads...here's the "new" motor....here's the head on the old motor.... AMAZING, all new hardware, the timing chain guides on the tensioners don't even have scrape marks from the chain yet, and it seemingly has all new hardware... will let y'all know bout this later..everything's on, looking good....up up and away!!! lot easier to work on the smaller things when it's in the air like this.....my neighbors must LOVE me.....getting her on in there.... my buddy Ryan on the left.... no replacement for awesome friends.... we worked right on through the super bowl and he didn't care.... "gotta do work and get it in, i came here to see this car run and wont leave till i do".... he left at 2:30am....DO WORK!!!motors in... all that's left at this point is the grounds, and the hotpipe, intake, and fluids....ran out of light, so i put the hoist, and my singe halogen lamp to work.... awesome... lemons guys.... lemons....come on..... **** is HOT....FINISHED!!!!! all that's left is start up!!!

and for those who are interested, here's the youtube link for the video.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpyTz7xYl5s

motor sounds SICK, and as unhealthy... and no, thats not an exhaust leak.....hence what i was saying earlier about the CLEAN head on the old motor.... i'll be yoking the motor back out on Tuesday, and swapping the good clean head on it, and hell while it's out, i'll go ahead and drop the HKS cams in there.... new chain, tensioners, freshly machined, no scoring on the cam journals.... can't go wrong with it....

i bought this motor from JDM online, and so far, besides customer service, i'm not very pleased with it, to say the least....

more work on Tuesday..... stay tuned....

Sorry to hear your not so pleased, I hope I do not run into any issues with my startup The ticking IS very prominent with the SRs though especially during the first start up, although that does seem excessive.

to get back on topic.... *cough cough"

alrighty guys, problem solved with the HORRIBLE sound.... i was doing some research, starting with the fact i had ZERO oil pressure, and came to the conclusion that the oil pans dent might be the culprit... it was stated that the oil pickup is only like 1mm from the pan, so i dropped the pan and viola!!! you could see where the pickup was hitting the pan, and restricting oil flow.... so i to the pan, beat the **** out of it, and even extended the the part under the pickup out a bit, reinstalled, filled with oil and went to start.... upon start up i had the rattle, but for only 3-4 seconds, followed by what sounded like the timing chain rattle on a KA... after a few moments of run time, that went away AWESOME!!!

so now all I'm dealing with is some minor belt squeal and a leaky injector on Cyl#1, it's causing a slight misfire at idle, and a performance restriction throughout the power band I'm sure... oh yeah, and my engine overheats in like 4-5 minutes... i checked the coolant level, full.... ran it for a while with the cap off, and it wasn't moving, overflowing just a tad, but nothing like it should..... my theory on that is the motor may have sat for a while, causing the thermostat to stick, and no coolant is flowing through.... no biggie, just pull the housing off and remove it....

well, without further adieu, the start up video, short and sweet.....

all depends on my license situation...

my hardship license (work school and chuch only) gets suspended on the 9th, and i, at first, though i had to wait 6 months to apply for it again, but i called the office and all i have to do is schedule a meeting with a hearing officer to see if they'll give it back...

if i don't get it back.............. tear down own the 10th lol...

whatcha ya'll think about my build so far?? they locked it on Zilvia... only premium members can post build threads.....

yeah, it's mines own.. haha

well guys.... done and more done.... fixed timing, for the most part, got it all put together, bypassed the clutch dampener and pulled it out of the car port!!!! WOOOT WOOTT!! i even got some lame video of the car moving under it's own power... not lame to me though... been a long time coming for me, and my first motor swap....

first shot out the car port!!still got some work to do, clean up the wiring, figure out my intake situation (mostly a lack of tools and the wrong inlet for my T28), gotta get the hood on but i need a big enough drill bit for the hood pin holes... and just some touching up... oh, and maybe get the polished valve cover back on... i might sell/trade it though...nice lookin' ***!!another good shot of my WORKING vlsd...

other than that, she's all done!! just needs some minor bodywork and some paint... game plan might change on that though... i might pull this motor out, put a KA in and sell it and use the money from the sale to get a CLEAN, accident free rolling shell or blown motor'd S14, so that way, when i go to put aero on, i wont have to sweat the frame damage up front... it was a PITA just to get the OEM stuff on the front...

well i was going to have the roll out video, but youtube is being an ***... i'll get it up later!!

more werkz... stay tuned...

well guys, been driving it for a few days.... having some issues with my idle, and bogging over4k (no not maf sensor, just bad settings on SAFC2)... but i think i got it all worked out... i just disconnected the MAF wires off the SAFC and ran it back to the ECU like it should be, so no more weird bogging... i got my timing set, now just have to set the TPS to .45V and i'm good to go as far as idle, and revving....

i had a boost leak, i wasn't pushing more than 4lbs, thought it was my hose clamps, wrong, it was a lack there of... i had put one of those clear with the braided hoses on the cold pipe to the IACV and never put clamps on it. i figured at the time, if it was such a pain in the *** to get it on (outside of the hose was the same diameter as the pipe so i had to stretch it), that i wouldn't get any leaks....WRONG... as some of you may know, those hoses conform to the shape and get hard, and well, boost was leaking out of that... throw a couple clamps on, and BOOM!! back to 10lbs!!!!

other than that, i think my fuel delivery/idle revving probs are gone... not sure if i have a leaky injector anymore, cause my buddy's SR makes the same noise as the fuel pump primes.... so we'll see once i get my TPS adjusted correctly....

oh, and my license is gone as of tomorrow, so i have so schedule another hearing at the office of administrative reviews (hardship/business license office), on the tenth.... so wish me luck on Tuesday...

if i lose my license, i've been entertaining the thought of finishing the car, and selling it.... who knows.....

sorry for the novel and lack of pictures....

well guys, got the Megan elbow on, minus the gasket that goes to the DP... will get that on soon, as well as replace all other exhaust gaskets...

if i don't sell or trade my HKS 264 cams within a week or two, i'll be dropping them in this motor for MOAR POWARZ...

i also swapped in my NGK R plugs (BKN5R or something like that), and gapped them correctly... car purrrrss now, still a bit of sputter at idle... kinda like what my KA had...

i had a serious problem earlier, while driving i noticed on my Auto Meter Cobalt Oil PSI gauge (senseless plug on awesomeness), that my PSI was dropping.... 2 blocks from my house it was at 5psi, cut the motor off and coasted in... i get home and i just see oil draining out of the motor... the drain plug came out, all that drained out was about 1/3 of a quart...Mobil 1 FTW!!!!... I'm damn sure i had it in tight... guess not tight enough... refilled with new Mobil 1 10w30 and with new oil, runs a.lot better.... i still need to flush it though, as there's a lot of caramelized oil in the head and whatnot... thank god for the oil PSI gauge or i could have ran my motor slap out of oil and done some SERIOUS damage...

here's a few shots, got my strut bar on, cleaned up the bay a bit... i know i change valve covers like everyday, one day it's black, next day it's polished, and now it's blue.... life's good when ya got three to choose from... here we go...ALMOST done...that JDM OEM strut bar is the SEKZ!!

and as always, more updates as they come along....
