Car: Nissan Rogue SL AWD with leather and tech package - black

Post

Hello! My wife and I just picked up a 2009 SL AWD, black with leather and tech packages and we just love it! Our previous vehicle was a Nissan XTRail which was great. We find the Rogue is more lively (thanks to the CVT), has better handling and absorbs road noise very well. Love the Bose system, although it's not as crisp as I would expect from Bose. We love the black colour and have been getting many compliments from friends and family. NO buyer's remorse!

I'm looking forward to putting on a set of Michelin X-Ice Xi2 tires this winter and seeing how it handles in our many New Brunswick storms. I can't believe I'm saying this in September, btu bring on the snow!

Dropping in to say hi...

Just got a Venom Red 2009 Rogue S one week ago... no options except for mats, kick plates, and splash guards.

So far I am lovin' it!Previous car was a 2000 Sentra, wanted an SUV but one that was not too large. The Rogue is a perfect size to fit me, wife, and toddler...

Both the wife and I are absolutely in love with the slick, not-too-trucky design, and enjoy the unexpectedly capable engine and smooth ride... will try to post a mini-review later...

Greetings all - Got an 09 S AWD Gotham Gray - splash guards, carpet mats, everything else plain-jane.

I wasn't planning on doing any mods until I started browsing around here - the first thing I'm gonna do is the HD mod cuz after taking a peek down there it looks like a freekin moth put a dent in the condenser!

Nice looking rigs ppl -Peace

Hi everyone, I picked my Rogue SL AWD Yesterday! (9/08/09) it's Wicked Black with Black Leather interior. Also got the Moon Roof & Premium package. I'd love to have the spoiler, but they didn't have it and the $$$ is a little high for a piece of plastic.

This looks like a great place!! I've already learned a few tips! ThanksTom

Hi all from Glen Morris, Ontario Canada.

New to the forum and now the new owner of a 2009 red venom Rogue SL AWD vehicle. Still has the new car shine, and want to protect the front end from road rash. Anyone have good experience with the clear plastic bra?

So far I am very pleased with the purchase. Can't wait until the snow flies to try the AWD. Hey wait, I can't believe I just said that. I can wait....need some more summer we didn't get in the summer. I will ride the motorcycle until the snow falls.

Cheers for now.

I cannot give comments about the Rogue, but my other car is an S2000 and several people in the car group have the 3M Clear Bra and sware by it. It has saved them several rock chips.

Hey Everyone,

Just picked up a 2009 Nissan Rogue SL AWD in Iridium Graphite in early September. Every time I search for information this forum comes up. What a lot of great information.

Right now I'm on the hunt for winter tires and the thread dedicated to that has been very helpful.

Hope to be posting more often!-chad

Hi all,

Picked up a new '09 Airstream (silver) S AWD last Thursday. It replaced an '06 X-Trail that I consider one of the best vehicles I've owned.

I just finished installing a hood deflector, vent visors, and ream bumber protector. Looks good.

I'm planning on ordering the chrome grille and a set of chrome door handle covers too.

A friend of mine just got a set of Weathertech digital fit mats for his Forester and I'm seriously considering a set for the Rogue.

Picked up my new 09 Rogue SL with Premium edition Airstream Silver in Sept. I'm in Whitby On. I Wanted the Carbon Silver but dealer couldn't find one. Been driving Volkswagen for last 15 years so i thought I'd try something different for a change. So far pretty pleased with it. Not too impressed with the gas mileage though especially since 95% of my driving is hwy driving. Right away I had the front windows tinted, hood deflector installed, rear spoiler installed( so far mine is the only one I've seen with rear spoiler) and replaced the stereo with my custom unit. And I have the HID Xenon headlight conversion kit on order now. Hopefully have them this week.

This is the first forum I've ever joined and have found it very useful. Alot of useful tips. Thanks.

Cheers, and Good driving everyone.

Hi there,Figure your mileage the old fashioned way. Filling up, tracking how many miles you went, dividing, etc. Then you'll be impressed. My dashboard tells me I'm getting 22.3 around town. When I figured the miles myself I was getting 28 around town and 30 highway. I'm happy!Kim

Hey,

Ya, I have an application on my Iphone that I use to track my mileage, maintenance costs, expenses etc. I'm averaging 25 MPG on the Hwy. Just thought it would have been better. Just used to the car I used to own where I got 30 MPG.

Cypress_1973,

Give the Rogue at least 5000 to break-in and you should see your fuel economy improve. It's very common for new Nissan's (and many cars in general) to get lower fuel economy during the first few thousand km.

My first few tanks of gas were in the low 20mpg range. I now routinely get 30mpg during the summer, a bit less in winter.

Hi, I've been reading around for a few months now.

Last Oct I got a 2008 Nissan Rogue SL AWD in Iridium Graphite.

I had a couple issues so far ( one is posted in a different thread), I've noticed the car is easily scratched. I was wondering what everyone else does to get rid of the scratches?

Hi! Just found this forum. I bought a 2009 Nissan Rogue SL (silver) in June. I'm mostly in love with it, but the black interior drives me crazy (I wanted grey, but the dealer couldn't get it). I always end up with elbow marks on the center console...sick.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi!

Hi. Got a Indigo Blue Rogue SL AWD last Aug. 28, 2009. Since I like a smooth ride, I really enjoyed the CVT on this vehicle. Pleasantly surprised a so-called SUV would run so smooth. It actually runs smoother than our Lexus IS 250 in my opinion. Yes, I know the Lexus is more sporty but thats how comparable the smooth ride is to me. The only noticeable issue is the road noise when it rains. Sounds like back window is open. Wierd at first. I just make sure I am listening to music so it won't be so obtrusive. Also didn't know the darker color would make dust more noticeable. No biggie though. Love the 23 mpg in city so far. Overall, very happy.

Hello all from a rookie member and a rookie Rogue owner.

Proud owner of a 2009 Gotham Gray model (i didnt go for the Batman mask and cape option)...I rolled it out of the dealers 2 weeks ago, and now have almost 700 miles on the clock.

I havent yet scanned all the posts for info, but have been a little concerned about the hesitancy in acceleration (especially when warm) and the seemingly indecisiveness of the cvt gearing....upon phoning the dealer his reply was "You will find that it will be sluggish for at least 3500 miles, and may even find it doesnt run smoothly until around 5000 miles" *blinks*

Hello everyone,

As of yesterday im a happy owner of a 2008 Rogue. It was a used model and it feels great. I passed up a Murano because the inside felt really used, but the Rogue was fun and felt new. I'm coming from a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder that was totaled after be hit by a red light runner.

I plan on reading about and asking a ton of questions on a new stereo, blind spot mirrors, and rear cameras

Yep, I've had my Rogue for only a couple months and I notice that it scratches VERY easily. This appears to be due to tighter EPA restrictions on factory car painting processes - thus this is a common issue for most new vehicles.

I've stopped worrying over small scratches, but the deep ones where primer or bare metal shows, you want to take care of ASAP to prevent rust from taking hold.

What I did was to buy touch-up paint, the actual Nissan one, and SPARINGLY paint over the chip/scratch. It wont be perfect, but the Nissan touch up paints seem to match very well, at least on my Venom Red rogue, and is hard to notice except at certain angles. The important thing is to protect the exposed primer/bare metal areas from rust. The faster you take care of the problem, the better.

Before painting, make sure the area is clean (and not waxed), and try to do the paint when the weather is relatively warm.

Hi All,

Brand new Rogue owner after two weeks of annoying dealer games and color searching...Ugh. It was unbelievable how BAD the customer service was at my local dealers...I ended up driving 80 miles to take delivery of my 2010 SL AWD Premium Package in Wicked Black... (Boo wanted Indigo Blue but they were near impossible to find)

I'm a lifelong Toyota owner but just did not like the looks or styling of the RAV 4...(much to big and LOUD now) one look and drive of the Rogue and I never looked back.

Anyway I'm glad to find this forum and hope to be here a long time!

Thanks,

Darken

Hi guys!

My name is Paul, I'm 25 and live in Williamsburg, VA. I came to this forum simply because I am sold on buying a Rogue for my wife Courtney. We are expecting our first child in April 2010 and she currently drives a 00' Mustang which probably wouldn't last passed July of this year.

Anyways, I'm in the market for a new 2010 Rogue SL FWD w/ Premium package.

I've started a thread reguarding a good "out the door' price for a new Rogue. If you have any feedback for me please let me know. Thanks guys, nice meeting all of you!

I bought my 2010 Nissan Rogue yesterday. I am stepping down from my 2006 Nissan Murano.

There are 4 reasons I didn't purchase new Murano.

1. Poor gas mileage (14 – 18 city/highway was my average)2. Too expensive for the fully loaded LE AWD ($41,000)3. Too big for my needs (I’m single with 2 dogs, no kids)4. Recommended/required Premium fuel (better performance and MPG with premium)

That being said, the Murano was a great SUV! I never had any problems with it, which is why I’m happy to buy its little brother, the Rogue.

I've read many complaints about the blinds spots of the Rogue. Yes, this takes some getting used to, but it was the same in the Murano. The Rogue does have a back-up camera as an option. I would recommend it as it does offer a great rear end view.

I've also read complaints about the CVT transmission. Once again, it’s the same in the Murano so I can’t tell a difference. It took a little getting used to, but I really like it, very smooth.

Another complaint addressed by many is the small engine, 170 HP. I agree, it would be nice to add a V-6 & Hybrid model as engine choices. But this engine is okay and the MPG is better than the Murano. (It will take me a few weeks to adjust to the lack of V-6 muscle)

For $30,000 I would like to see automatic headlights (which isn't even an option). Plus the fuel filler door should have a release inside the SUV as anyone can siphon gas out of the Rogue unless you purchase a locking gas cap. And yes, doors that lock automatically when shifting into drive would be great.

I see the Rogue as a perfect mini-SUV for a single guy, raising 2 dogs, living in the Snow Belt, such as myself.

2010 Nissan Rogue, SL AWD, Wicked Black, Moonroof package, Premium Package, Leather Package + splash guards, rear bumper protector, floor mats & cargo area protector. $29,430.00.

I will be adding tint to the driver and passenger side windows, side body molding, pin striping, hood wind deflector, sunroof wind deflector and chrome grill inserts.
