One thing seems clear, the current laws do not always prevent psycho's like Holmes (or criminals) from obtaining weapons. That said, it doesn't mean we should abandon gun laws altogther. I just don't see any meaningful reform or stepped up enforcement coming any tme soon as long as the NRA and it's followers remain so influential in Congress.ScorchedNX2K wrote:/signal NICO's anti-regulation squad...GO.
Seems to me that those who wish more and more power to rule over the public would absolutely hate the Constitution and its limits. The role of the public is to rule over the Government, not the other way around. Unfortunately as the public is becoming more and more apathetic to doing for themselves the more they seem happy to let others make life choices for them.bigbadberry3 wrote:6) It's happening the government says it is not the best document in the world http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/02 ... -as-model/

All criminals are bad people and all those who never got caught doing something or never arrested are good huh? You are a complete fool. For more than one reason, since you bought up the whole "good guy, bad guy" thing.bigbadberry3 wrote:Are all criminal these bad people? Let alone the pressure from a dissertation. But even then, how bad can a person snap that it causes him to trap is own apartment? This takes a large level of planning; how long has this guy been snapped in order to set something like this up? Did the people he deals with on a day to day not realize he was a little off...OriginalWheelman wrote:Kid was an Honor student, in a PhD program for Neurology
Wouldn't surprise me to find out this guy has $100,000+ in student loan debt, and snapped because his education is now for a career that will pay next to nothing. He had a promising future, and now all he had to look forward to is a life long struggle to pay off his student loans.
Again, this is purely speculation

What scares me (other than his level of planning and his actions) is that he didn't kill himself. After all this craziness he wanted to get caught. He just sat in his car and waited until the police showed up. It scares me to think why he would do that.
Not sure what you mean, can you elaborate?bigbadberry3 wrote:No death penalty?
Originally I was until I googled that Colorado does have the death penalty.RCA wrote:Not sure what you mean, can you elaborate?bigbadberry3 wrote:No death penalty?
Are you saying he wanted to get caught because there isn't the death penalty in Colorado?
I predict a violent response. The community is raw right now, everyone, not just certain demographics, and these d-bags are going to pour hot sauce on a fresh wound. I expect them to get beaten this time around.danshaz82 wrote:also, look whos showing up...

The Aurora, Colo., theater massacre spurred fearful consumers out west to arm themselves yesterday, with some gun shop owners reporting a massive spike in business.
“The phone’s been ringing off the hook today,” said Robert Parker, owner of Parker Arms & Gunsmithing, 17 miles from the site of the rampage. “Anytime something like this happens, people are more apt to think more about wanting to protect themselves. All of those people there were just helpless.”
One hour north of Aurora at Rocky Mountain Shooter Supply, gun sales were up by about 50 percent, manager Bill Cates said.
Like if someone with a CC permit with an AR started firing back and shot and missed the actual shooter and instead hit other innocent people.....biggie wrote:Yep, everyone I know that doesn't have one, is trying to get an AR asap. I'm too poor or I would too.
Wished some laws would have already been changed, as far as no concealed weapon allowed in theatres, things could have been different I believe.
