Yeah there's no Apple haters in here. You posted this same retarded thing in the headphone thread then got flamed and made excuses for say it, and now you're saying it again?marlin29311 wrote:This just in - Empty V posts iPhone 4 super thread, gets butthurt after being told off by various users.

Apple is nothing but a marketing machine, no more/less better than compaines like BOSE or Monster Cable. I bet 90% of the people that believe that the iPhone 4 is the next best thing since sliced bread believe they need a $200 HDMI cable to utilize 120HZ on their HDTV's, and need speaker wire risers to make sure that the floor doesn't generate interference in their electrical signals....
Same one line over and over. Do you have experience with a y other electronics manufacturers?marlin29311 wrote:Bose is right up there with Apple in terms of the garbage they churn out and how they are just super effective marketing machines.

The two aren't really separable. Is an iPhone without an AT&T contract much more than a pretty, expensive paperweight?Empty V wrote:I'm not sure how that's a function of the phone opposed to the manufactures' carrier choice.
No response to that Empty V?Jesda wrote:We need to get a few things right. Apple has not invented video conferencing for cell phones, not even in a mass-market fashion. The HTC Evo for Sprint, which came out three days ago, has an application called Qik that allows for video conferencing over the cellular network. Apple's Facetime application is restricted to wifi. I'm sure Apple wanted video to work over the cellular network, but was concerned about the quality of service through AT&T. Apple would rather not have a feature at all than have one that performed poorly, which makes sense.

Again, two different arenas. Your business is one of pleasure, not necessity. People dont NEED entertainment. My job is all about making sure DoD entities can communicate properly and their networks are stable over three different forms of classification, this is a NEED. You can afford to have whatever phone you want, where as I have to work within my contract's stipulations.Empty V wrote:So a "business oriented phone" is one that's available on multiple carriers? I'm not sure how that's a function of the phone opposed to the manufactures' carrier choice. I do business with the leadership of our military as well and haven't had any issues with my iPhone. Yes I have to leave it in my car if I'm going into certain rooms but they make everyone do that.flohtingPoint wrote:Two different worlds my friend, I'm an engineer on contract to the Department of Defense. Another valid point. Very few people have access to videoconferencing or telepresence systems, they will now. Your posts are not helping your case. When I need to jump on a telepresence call I've got to coordinate with the other end via phone or email then head down to my display room and turn on the system and get to work. Now you can pull your videoconferencing system out of your pocket.marlin29311 wrote:What do I do when I need to video conference? Go back and read. I already commented on how it's only available on wifi, which IMO is a good thing.Watermelonwarrior wrote:No response to that Empty V?
Second note thank you Jesda. Iv been waiting for someone to say it
I also setup extremely large scale videowalls used in rooms from Satellite tracking stations at Schriever AFB and command posts at Charleston AFB to EOC's all over the US. My phone works great for that. Plus I see a lot, not the majority though, of people I work with also using iPhones. So sorry dude saying that if you contract for the govt you can't use and iPone is wrong. Also making it sound like my job is not important is just insulting, so go f*** yourself for that one.flohtingPoint wrote:Again, two different arenas. Your business is one of pleasure, not necessity. How is his point of view any more shallow than that of those who blindly follow Apple?Empty V wrote:People like Marlin are the reason why I said "haters" because all they bring is negativity and usually have an extremely shallow POV.
True, everything should be fine then.IBCoupe wrote:Happens all the time in science fiction movies without crashes.A33 wrote:Yeah and that'll be the next big thing causing accidents... people trying to video chat on their phones while driving
If you're saying I blindly follow apple, I don't. I like their products but there's a lot I don't like. Such as what you just said with the lack of customization. When a text goes off in the airport I see half the room reaching for their phone, it's annoying. I took his point based on what he said in the previous thread regarding apple putting out crap products. Marketing is marketing and they do whatever they can to sell product, I don't blame them for that as we'd all do the same. I'm sure once a musical artist get big he starts hating them as well.AppleBonker wrote:Empty V wrote:How is his point of view any more shallow than that of those who blindly follow Apple?
Also, the comparison to Bose and Monster is incredibly valid. All three have obtained success by being the "in" product or seemingly "top-of-the-line". Fact is, most iPhone users don't care about the specifications of the device, or how it functions. They just want an easy-to-use phone. However, marketing this product requires the elimination of a number of different features that make things difficult on more advanced users. I mean, I can't change the text message ringtone? What if I don't like the six options that are supplied by Apple? What if I want my phone to use the AOL "you've got mail" when I get email? This is basic stuff that just can't be done. Why customize things when you can be just like everyone else?
lol... I'm not taking what anyone has said personally, except for your last post. Maybe you meant it differently but it came off as "I help the govt communicate so you can stay safe, what you do is unnecessary and trivial." So yeah, that was a personal attack.flohtingPoint wrote:lol... Like everyone has said, you're taking all this way too personally man...
I didn't say your job wasn't important. My race cars are not a need but they're very important to me.

If you're going to revert back to posts from other threads, at least make sure you catch the part where he explains himself better:Empty V wrote:I took his point based on what he said in the previous thread regarding apple putting out crap products. And I don't see anything incorrect with this thought process. Will people be lining up for this phone that they haven't even seen yet? I'm sure pre-orders will be insane. And is the phone REALLY that much different than the 3GS? So why do people just have to buy one? Saying that they churn out garbage doesn't need any further explanation. He explained what he meant about how they attack their marketing campaigns which I understood perfectly.AppleBonker wrote:If you're going to revert back to posts from other threads, at least make sure you catch the part where he explains himself better:

Dude, I made an error on my first sentence...chill out - I came back and corrected my stance. I've never said that Apple makes a crappy/junk product...I like my iPod touch for what it does. My original intent was to compare the fact that BOSE and Apple are both highly effective at marketing. The fact that you are acting like a 10 year old girl who just had a lollipop taken from her shows your amount of maturity in this situation.Empty V wrote:Saying that they churn out garbage doesn't need any further explanation.
