not sure about finding one locally, there is a guy who periodically sells front clips w/ RB25s in Houston, you can find his threads on houston240sx.com. I got mine from a friend who was parting his R33...otherwise you could get one from the importing companies.

There are quite a few 240 guys in the Killeen area, I know of at least one w/ an RB25 too

Nice choice on the RB in the S13, everything is looking really clean. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product, some videos of the beast would be sick once you get it on the track.

Sick bearded dragon by the way, I used to have two of em', it looks like it wants to eat that little lizard on the cage lol

Pretty much nowhere to do it legally around this area, and I don't street drift so I wouldn't know about any places illegally either. Closest common events are in Mineral Wells west of Ft. Worth, usually one every month. We run all day in a big abandoned heli pad at the airport. $40 to drift with as many runs as your car will hold up for . Suuuuuper laid back event, and you can cage rides with people too. The guy who runs it is Aaron Losey and he can instruct if needed. I recommend this event to anyone who wants to have a good time.

The next event is Oct 19th, I'm hoping to have this running well by then to take it out. We will be having a caravan going up this month; me with the truck trailering the 240, my bf with his turbo miata, and some friends of mine should be coming up from Houston to help us drive another 240 up that we just finished for a friend who lives up in teh Dallas area. You should come if you can...its a fun drive up there too.

Other than Mineral Wells there are some events in Houston, but with Daily Drifter shutting down there won't be too many anymore. There is an event in the works for the Harris Hill road course. Its pretty close in San Marcos, looking like it'll be $125 -$140 to drive if they get enough people interested.

Hehe, thanks. We rescued her from a home that did not take care of her very well about a year ago and shes is happy now in a larger cage with good lighting. That cage there is her old small one. I used to have 4 iguanas when I was younger, she is my first beardie and the have cool personalities

Alright so I have a question. Most of my questions in this thread were not answered, but I'll try here first before starting another thread.

I'm looking to get 5Ziegen FN01R wheels and not sure what size/offset I should go with. I did a bit of searching and did not come up with exactly what I was looking for.

Specs for the setup - going with 30mm front 50mm rear overfenders5Ziegen FN01R wheelspushing 400 hp, would like the tires stretched on the rim

any suggestions?

Which wheels?

the REAL FN01Rs or the FN01R-Cs ?Not many people go for the REAL forged ones.

At any rate, go with a 17x9 in the front. You will want to drop it down to a 0 offset at least, especially with those wide fenders.

For the rear, try some 18x 9.5s and again, space them out to a 0 offset or so. 50mm fenders are going to be WIDE and you will need to space the wheels out quite a bit to fill them, ESPECIALLY since you want stretched tires.

Nah, just the FN01R-CsI was planning on going 17s for cheaper tire availably, but in the end I probably wouldn't save much. Thanks for the reply

ha why wouldnt it be. people run 400 horse on 15 inch wheels all the time. The only difference really is tire price and a little change in final drive. Shed have the same affect as if she was running a taller gear. 18s just seem like a styling preference more-so than a tuning decision.

By all means if theres something Im missing. Cuz Ill be straight up and tell you that Im not in on the drift world so if there are any reasons as why she would want to go to an 18 other than style... inform me

urcaptn - are you stupid? She is building a 400 horsepower drift car. Who is running 15s on 400?

Rather than spouting off stupid information about drifting, why don't you sit back and keep your dumb ideas to yourself.

urcaptnspeaking doesn't sound like he being dumb in the post. He said that he was not in the drift world and felt that the 18s are mainly for looks. I don't know anyone who runs 15s on that much hp either, but hey, there are a lot of unfinished/cheap cars out there and I wouldn't be surprised to see someone roll up on some 15s haha.

I too don't see the big difference between 17s and 18s other than mainly thinner sidewalls on the tires and a more expensive tire. Most of the guys I run with have 17s. Including Aaron Losey, the guy who I bought the RB from and drifts an LS1 S13.

17s are definitely a majority, around here at least. I'm not trying to be facetious, but I think that you are being a bit overzealous on the 18s thing. Your post makes it sound like I'm a dumbass for thinking about getting 17s...and I still might go with 18s, I'm open to suggestions

hes been pissy with me from day one. he just gets a stick in his *** over every one who disagrees with him. I also explained if he had any info to the contrary to please tell me. He obviously just came back with how "stupid" I was. real mature.. haha which pretty much speaks to the kind of person he is.

But I know LOTS of people running OVER 400 horses on 15's. My buddys truck is 575 horse on 15's and 36 inch tires. haha. One example I can give more. And before you say this is not relevant all these people get sideways regularly (yes even in trucks) They believe in skill not in flashy expensive parts on cars to do the work ( not saying some things ARENT needed). Sorry if I have a different opinion to his majesty. haha

youve got a lot of growing up to do brian. If you have nothing educated to say or proof to how Im wrong, then please refrain from the personal attacks.

thanks, it been really fun. I hate that I'm on a deadline, make things even more stressful. Going to try to get it started tomorrow, if not then I'll have to try to get it started Sunday. After that it'll be one week before the event...I'm off work on Tuesday so it goes in to the exhaust shop for a straightpipe, hitting up a local tuning shop to get the BOV on, and need to get some tires mounted.

hehe, we don't need any e-thuggin here, get enough of that on the local 240 forums

Nah, no real good video yet...I have this really crappy one from the last event I drove at before we started the engine swap. I got my BF to hold the camera while I tried to burn the rest of the tires on the skidpad in 1st gear for a while. Poor KA was very unhealthy at that event.

Im not trying to jack your thread nor was I trying to start ****. I was just saying you would be fine with 17's and he jumped my case. And he knows you will be fine with 17's. He forces his opinions like a verbal rapist, freakishly similar.

BH- you speak from a drivers point of view and all of what you read ,thats all. Common sense avoided you apparently. Which is what 21 years of experience Im speaking from.

Sorry thats the end of that No need to trash up a good thread. sweet video I wish there was a skid pad around here like that... Ill have to check into it

So if you guys are done attacking me, what is original poster going to go with?

17s all around or what?

I still think you should get 18s in the rear.

You will have a HIGH powered car and a HUGE rear end.

i have a legit question, why would 18s > 17s? regardless of diameter, as long as they have good width and offset they'll provide a good traction patch and be flush, correct? and for less tire roll, a lower profile tire with less sidewall can be used for either size. unless im missing something, i cant see the logic 1 way or the other.
