I believe first gen VQ are all the same in sensors and stuff. So if you just run it like a boosted Maxima, it should be fine. Look in Maxima forums for people who boosted their Maxima to like 400 wheel HP. VQ30DET can get more than that.

This evening I punched out ANOTHER pin out of the trans shifter link. It was surrounding the other smaller one. To puch these out, a phillips head screw driver with 3 mm diameter and a rubber mullet is the way. You'll need to strike it REALLY HARD from the top side. Think of the same impact you will have when your hammer normal speed with a 15 LB weight. (quarter second a foot)

I'm having the shifter link cut and welded.

I also managed to grind the signal plate off the Maxima Flex plate. Now I'm trying to get the signal plate off the 350Z stock flywheel.

I'm looking to buy an S13 automatic transmission support cross memeber in Jax area. I'm paying cash and need reply ASAP. Or else I'll go and grab it at the junk yard. I'd rather buy from someone on the forum though. Thanks

Alright. One piece of wiring done. This is for the Speed Sensor -> Fuse Box -> SMJ Box -> Speedo Meter -> ECU diagram. I used as much stock S13 wiring as possible. This helps trace things easier later. The current flowing is A/C so there is no need for polarity. I'm not sure how the S13 Speedo will take the Speed Sensor output from 350Z trans. If it doesn't work, I can swap the sensors or the speedo.

This is for the Neutral Position Switch. A plug for 350Z sensor will be required. Cut and connect to ECU. The other wire goes to the ground.

This is the Wiring for Tachometer. Again, this wiring preserves most of the S13 stock wires. It may need swapping out the gauges with Maxima Gauge, but that's the easy part, if necessary.

I managed to mount the S13 power steering pump onto the VQ30DE by flipping a couple of brackets. The tricky part will be on getting a new hard line for power steering and connecting the pressure line to the pump at a right angle. Those wouldn't have been difficult IF the damned things weren't so hard to take off.

All it takes is $3,000 budget and perseverance. I have a good supply of the second and would like to increase the first.

Expect the project to get a jump start from next Saturday. I'll be moving it to a location where I have 24Hr access. Good thing I broke up with my gf. Now I can sleep with my car without being called a cheat.

Ummm, i think they have special phone help lines for issues like that... :s

Just remember, it's only a car. Unless she was a ball busting b*tch and then... yeah, curb her for a more mature model.

Well, now I'll be off to bootcamp and advance training after that. That means the project will be put on hold till I get deployed to a base. Then I'll be able to send the car out of the storage and to where ever I get stationed at.

So currrently the Red S13 coupe gets priority. It will be getting the A/C hooked up and get all the dents out and painted Red all over again.

See you guys in about 2 and a half months after I get done with boot camp.

Yes, everything I put in on that car. The shell, the clean title, the VQ30DE, 6 Speed Transmission, VQ ECU, KA24DE ECU, VQ wiring, KA wiring, 350Z short throw shifter, 350Z Flywheel, VQ30DE sensor ring to weld on to that flywheel. EVERYTHING.

Honestly, I'd have finished the project if I wasn't being stationed oversea. But I'm regulary Army and not national guard. So everything has to go, not just this project. I think I'll try to keep my other 240SX. I love that thing to death. T_T

I'm not doing this project ever again, not going to be able to. My next goal is to buy an RX-8 while in Korea and put a small ball bearing turbo on it for low end torque. I prefer it over 350Z.

They are too FnF looking. Right out of the factory too.RX8 is more than just fast, it's an odd ball car. Engine to the door. Plus great interior for the price.

what the hell do you mean FnF looking???????

this is FnF looking? looks like a plain car to me. sure the pictures they sent out of that orange one was to peak interest with enthusiasts.

this thing is HOT!

lowered and a nice set of wheels too

the interior of the Sentra Spec V b15 has a higher rating on interior than the rx8

Really am tempted to buy the trans and flywheel etc... though shipping will probably cancel any saving i make. The Aussie $$ transfer is not favorable either
