Hey, what happened to the "entertainers" thread? Another victim of the Kangaroo court? Very juvenile behavior, IMHO, and very disappointing.

Let's see how long this thread exists before it is altered/censored.

Thankfully the constitution can save us from the extreme right sometimes.

Calm down partner. It appears the thread you seek was merged into the thread entitled "Celebrity loud mouths and human shields".

The "entertainer" thread you mention was changed to the "Loudmouth" one. I would never participate in a discussion of that nature. Way too biased, bigotted and just plain silly. In fact, any of my posts that appear that "new" thread are used without my permission because they were not written with that topic in mind. This was an intellectually dishonest alteration in which I won't participate. (Hark, I think I hear cheering from the Brownshirts. Don't get excited Deeso. There are two "r's" in in Brownshirt)

However, I am getting a pretty good idea of what I'm dealing with in this "impartially" refereed chat area. It is interesting to see how the current political climate is affecting some. Guess I should have read the terms of service a little more closely because I missed the part about where the moderator can change the titles of threads to advance a partisan agenda. They say war can bring out the worst in people.

(I had to edit because I miscounted the "r's originally)

By all means... if you want the original thread title returned I see no problem with that. But seriously Vimy... you won't participate in a discussion simply because of the thread title?! You just can't help but be an ignorant a$$, can you...

Let me get this straight.. you belive so strongly in your opinions... that you refuse to share them becaue you don't like the name of the thread... now that's silly and juvenile.

I'm with Vim on this one (regarding the merger)

Mayhem, would you be opposed to reversing the merger?

Besides, I was throwing heat there, and didn't see anyone stepping up to the plate.

Every president has their failures, while Clintron was prez, the economy was in good shape(thats his plus, down is foreign matters). Bush handels foreign matters, but the economy is bad. Thats just every president, Ups and Downs.

I do not mean to sound insulting but it is a fact that most in the US have little knowledge of what's going on in the rest of the world. Ever heard of NATO, or Normandy, the recent friendly fire incident in Afghanistan, Bosnia? The CAF does need to expand, however. These are dangerous times and Canada is a rich country that could plunk a billion or two more down on defence. The figure of 18,000 refers, I believe to the standing fighting army not the support and command infrastructure, air and naval forces. As the article states the guys are getting stretched thin and fatigue could become a major concern.

Do a quick Google search on the topic of the Battle for Vimy Ridge.

Vimy is also the name of a hockey arena where among others things, I used to puke during killer hockey drills, scored 4 goals in a tournament semi final, got my arm broken, broke a guy's hand on my head, knocked a guy out with a clean check (I still feel bad about that) and got stitches to my head when I got checked awkwardly into the boards. It was an important site of many of my own battles.

That would explain "VimyJ" because getting up in the morning knowing you'll have to climb into that POS industrial sized dildo looking J30 is surely a real battle. :D Just trying to inject a little levity into this drab and prolonged debate Vim.

Carry on.

Saddam must be loving the dissension he's creating in the West. He is single handedly wrecking the UN and NATO. Or is it W who is doing that? The way this game stands now it's Iraq 1, US no score. Don't France and Germany know that W & Co. have an election coming and the successful prosecution of the Iraq war is a key to W's reelection campaign? Maybe they do.

The "High Terror" alert was based on some mope making up a story. I saw a clip of a knucklehead in New England who completely wrapped his house in plastic and duct tape. He probably didn't have to get freeze dried food because his stash from Y2K went untouched.

Missile batteries in DC and armed anti terror squads roaming NYC. "High Terror"? More like "High Anxiety" (Mel Brooks movie). What a mess.

France and Germanys longheld anti-semetism and unwillingness to get involved in anything (france has millions at stake with contracts with Iraq) leaves us just waiting for thier "ok" or help... something not ok with me. If we should atack Iraq we should atack, and not wait for cowardly countries support.(when we are being fillibustered) (hear about french tanks? they have 6 gears...5 in reverse and 1 in foward in case they get atacked from behind) and while a "succesfull" war might increase ws chances of being elected next election, it has nothing to do with his reasons of entering a war. Saying so is nothing but a lie. everything changed after 9/11...

I thought that was Italian tanks. The frogs just give up.

Do you really think that W doesn't have some very self serving reasons behind the attempt to lauch a war? If you do then I have an artists rendering of some of that prime Fl swamp lan.... oops, I mean lake front property you should look into.

Let us all remember that any country has a right to take Iraq to task about its continued flouting of the UN. The UN! Not the US. The UN. W & Co. have botched this thing terribly. It's one thing to not underestimate a domestic audience but entirely another to try to flummox the entire world.

Be aware that W has rarely ever been out of the US before becoming president and so doesn't understand fully the sensibilities of the rest of the planet. There are civilizations that are much older than any state in N. America that view things differently. I think a lot of the world sees the US as a greedy spoiled brat and they are digging their heels in because of it. Explains alot of behavior. I suppose a big difference between W and Raygun was that at least Raygun was taking on the mighty and hegemonic Soviet Union. Now it looks to the world that the US is the hegemonist which is what was the motivation behind 9/11 atrocity in the first place. Get it? Things are not as simple as W would have you believe.

Still, I see a huge war between the occident and the orient coming sometime. Democracy Vs Theocracy.

BTW, the markets were up big today because it looks less like W is going to get his war.

You deserve a volume discount at least. ;)

Here's wierd way of thinking of it: That Franklin is what many of the world's poorest make in a quarter if they're lucky and able bodied.

Saw a show about "Blood Diamonds" mined and fought over in Africa. They showed one guy in Siearra Leone that dug like demon for week and found a diamond the size of a BB. It was worth $7 bucks to him and he said he was going to use it to get his family ahead, maybe buy a car. Works out to a little less than $0.09/hr @ 80hrs/wk.

Why do you think I'm so protective of the US?

I thank God every day for allowing me to be born an able-bodied, healthy, middle-class, heterosexual US citizen.

I'm pretty certain if I had been born into abject poverty, I'd be taking the Road Warrior approach to surviving.
