Little stuff like this always makes the build unique.

Thanks. It was worth every penny the stencil cost me. I spent this evening getting some more pieces painted, and touched up the end tanks as well.

Not much progress until some more pieces arrive. Hopefully this weekend. Sadly my power cables for the camera fried, so no pix for a while.

This is going way to slowly. Most of the parts I need have arrived. I'm just waiting on some BSPT barb fittings for the manifold. As soon as those come in the manifold will be ready to go.

I wrenched for a bit and got most of the oil system wrapped up. I have to modify the oil filter bracket to sit lower. Right now the filter is hitting the hood.

I got the oil cooler all mounted up, and it looks pretty sturdy. After the manifold is on, I'm going to move on to the inter cooler install. My work schedule is slowing me down. I just don't have the energy to wrench some nights.

Pix:

Oil lines, filter relocation. Looks so messy.

The Touge Factory oil block. -8 lines. GReddy oil pressure sensor and OEM oil pressure sensor. Defi NPT > PT converter, thanks to Epstein.

No where near as clean as Andy's . Check out my ghetto mount near the top. The bottom is attached directly to the frame. It's solid.

Painted my gauge holder, it's flat black.

New injector gaskets, and fuel rail spacers. My motor didn't have any. Are they really needed? We'll find out.

OEM injectors with new seals and cleaned up by Deatschwerks.

Report on the injectors. All of them hit 402 cc/min. One hit 403

I'm waiting on a few nuts and bolts to finish up the oil system setup. Hopefully in the next week I'll have my BSPT fittings to finish up the intake manifold once and for all.

More pix here.

Your oil system is the shiznite! I like those lines you're using.

Thanks. I know I'm going to redo the lines this coming winter. Clean up the install. I need a mig welder to make some trick mounts for the oil cooler.

my bspt fittings still haven't shipped. really irritated at how it's slowing me down.

if they don't ship by tuesday, i'm going to buy a drill and tap kit. then tap them out to 1/4 NPT

The company screwed me on barb fittings.

Since I had a vacuum port put in my hot pipe for the waste gate/manual boost controller, I really don't need to use any of the extra vacuum ports on the manifold. Boost gauge vacuum can be teed off an existing vacuum line; I'm just going to do that. Re-tapping to 1/4" NPT is pointless since I can't find a 1/4" NPT with a small enough barb fitting.

Either way 3 weeks wasted.

UPDATE!

So I ditched the extra vacuum fittings on the manifold. I just blocked the ports.

After 2 weeks I finally got some time to wrench on the car for a bit.

Pretty straight forward stuff. Took my time, and mounted it all up.

Everything went smoothly, except the fuel rail didn't want to mount up properly at first.

The harness had to be modified slightly so the plugs would reach their locations. Not as clean as OEM, but it works just fine.

Next up if the intercooler and the piping. Hopefully this week if I have time.

Pix:

IACV mounted up. Vacuum ports plugged up. I even put high temp thread sealant paste on those bad boys. :p

Injectors in their home. I put in M5 bolts for the caps instead of the OEM Philips head screws. I hate Philips head screws.

Manifold ready to go on.

Manifold mounted up. Fuel lines run. Vacuum and coolant lines run. Harness modified. Throttle cable bracket modified. TB mounted. GReddy emblem on.

Hopefully none of the crap leaks, and it idles well.

Being anal retentive I tried to torque down every bolt to spec, but getting to some of the manifold bolts/nuts required me to use universal sockets. Worked fine, but how badly does it affect the accuracy of my torque wrench?

Thanks for looking.

More work done:

Got most of the intercooler mounted up. Straight forward stuff.

Step 01:Find yourself a white boy. Check

Next have him do manual labor while you drink margaritas. Go Ed GO!

Mount intercooler:

Finished up the remote oil filter. Ran most of the cold and hot pipe stuff. 1 T clamp refuses to go on with the silicone couplers.

Crappy square hole we made for the cold pipe. Braille battery next to the pipe. The cables will reach. Not the prettiest, but it'll work.

Hot pipe. It will finally be recirculated! THANK GOD!

1 T clamp and the intercooler is done. I need to trim the bumper support, and the bumper, and then it's done!

Tools to help, since I tortured my dremel with all my ****ty bracket making. I replaced it with something more up to the task

Ingersoll Rand 326 with 3" cut off wheel. Metal has met it's match.

Ingersoll Rand 3108. Die grinder.

The extra tool purchases set me behind a bit, but it'll save me from having to take my bumper support to someone to cut for me. Plus I love air tools.

Many thanks to Ed for helping me out with the intercooler install, went much quicker with him there. He's Eds13 on most of the Nissan forums.

Thanks for looking.

Yeah, I'm really happy with how the intercooler came out.

Here is a picture to help clearly illustrate how pleased I am with it:

Had some free time so I took care of a few things.

Ran most of the vacuum hoses.Recirculated the BOVCut some tubing as trimming for some edges.Small stuff, but stuff that needed to be done.

Pix:

Ran the piping for the Oil catch can.

Used a radiator hose to recirculate the BOV. There is a slight kink, but it'll have to do. It should be fine as is, we'll find out.

Another shot of the recirculated BOV. I'm so glad it's finally recirculated!

I also ran all the vacuum lines for everything except for the wastegate. I'm just waiting on the boost controller to arrive. I already know how I'll mount it, and where I'll mount it.

I tried to finish up all the small thing and tidy up the bay a bit. There are hoses running every which way. Real men don't tuck wires.

I cut up some old vacuum hose to run along the edge of the hotpipe hole.

I did the same for ghetto oil cooler mount. It had some jagged edges, last thing I needed was for one of the oil lines to get punctured by 'em. I also ran a cut up hose along the edge of the radiator where the lines may rub against as well. I even cut up some rubber tubing and covered some exposed bolts.

After the lines were run, I went to Lowe's and bought some pieces to make a battery tie down. I'm using a 6" long threaded rod. I will use nuts and lock washers to screw it to bottom of the battery tray/frame. Then bend a piece of aluminum plate to hold down the battery. Total cost $3. Eventually I'd like to do a relocation for the battery behind the passenger seat.

Enjoy.

looking good, but you take that back about wire tucking . where are you mounting your boost controller, i'm curious cuz i have a very clean and unique location for mine. also, what made you decide to put the bov on the hot pipe?

I typed that in just to piss you off.

The BOV has always been on the hot pipe. It came like that.

I'm going to be using a Perrin manual boost controller. It will be mounted near the clutch master cylinder. I will make a bracket that mounts behind that green box but comes over the green box. There should be plenty of room and no super long vacuum lines will be run.

lol i figured the wiring comment was for me. sounds like a good idea for the mbc. i'm running super long lines because of where i'm mounting my solenoid. i don't want to ruin your thread with pics, but its on the side of the clutch pedal.

my bov was on the hot pipe too when i got the car, but i'm switching it to the cold pipe

You're mounting the solenoid inside the cabin, and running a line all the way out? I mean there's nothing wrong with it, but man I'd be annoyed!

I hear mounting the BOV on the cold pipe close to the TB is a good idea, but recirculating it would be a huge pain. Are you running a MAP setup or keeping the MAF? You don't get annoyed with the constant back firing and fire out the muffler?

thats the odd thing, my car doesnt shoot fire at all and i've never recirced the bov, we'll see how it goes on the cold pipe though. as for the boost solenoid, yeah i'm gonna run the whole way from the cabin, but i'm using reinforced fuel line so i think it'll be fine. i already made teh holes, the line will come out under teh brake booster right up against the top of the rail. then i'll just run it along the rail till i get to the turbo

I used to have really bad throttle snap if I came off the throttle high in the rpm range, and driving hard. Completely ruined the driving experience. I'm very confident it was the lack of recirculation causing the problem.
