wow you guys have a garage to work on your car. the sucky part of living in nyc, is the parking and having no garage to work on but the street.

Everyone has their beginnings. My first 2 cars I had to do outside as well. The garage is the main reason I bought my house.

Well I made some more progress tonight.

Installed the new knock sensorWent to Advance Auto and spent a good hour finding hoses that would be close enough to replace the old coolant hoses.I also bypassed the throttle body for one of the coolants lines. The lines were a bit annoying but the process didn't take too long.Took off the oil pan as well. Thanks Andy for the tip! Someone else mentioned the same technique on removal, worked very well.Took off the old IACV for the bolts, took off the OEM oil pressure sensor as well. Once I get the NPT > BSPT converter I can put in the new oil block, and the lines and plumb the oil system.

Pix:

New hoses on. I'm clamped 'em on tight! Just like your mother Trebek.

Oil pan OFF!

Test fitted the intake manifold. Damn it looks nice!

More schtuff here.

Thanks.

I love the way the manifold looks!

Also all the little bit of hoses that had to be replaced ran me $65! I had to use radiator hoses that were of similar diameter and cut them to length. I'm glad it's done though, that old rubber was at least 14 years old, and cracked. It actually ripped when I was taking it off.

Finally got a chance to go out in the garage and tool a bit.

Removed the s13 oil pick upInstalled the s14 oil pick upCleaned and reinstalled the baffleInstalled the greddy oil pan.

I torqued the pan bolts to 5.5 ft/lbs per FSM. GReddy paperwork said the same thing. I'm sure it's fine, just a bit low I feel.

Pix:

S14 Oil Pickup installed. The bolt for the bracket was a nightmare, but it finally went.

Clean *** baffle!

BAFFLE BACK ON!

Oil Pan on. I F'n love this oil pan!

Here is a comparison of the S13 oil pickup VS the S14 oil pickup. S13 pickup on the left, S14 on the right. Image thanks to Positron:

As always pix here.

Last of the intercooler parts showed up:

T clamps2 Silicone couplers.

I purchased them from atpturbo.com, well priced and they do the job.

Pix:

I may go in the garage and take apart the exhaust system.Next week I should have the polyurethane bushings for my front LCA's. Then they are sent off to get boxed in and sand blasted, paint and put back together.

Can't wait!

The bushings are Super Pro poly bushings. They come with a new sleeve and all.

Yeah, I wanted that oil pan since 06. It looks freakin' great!

Awesome thread, looks a lot like my black hatch sitting in the garage all torn up right now too. GReddy intercooler, oil pan, and intake manifold are all on my wish list as well- all of the parts look sick! Unfortunately Im at the point you were last winter, working on the 5 lug conversion and the brakes.

Love the build and the updates, inspiring for another guy that can only work with propane/kerosene heat without dying! keep up the good work!

The Super Pro bushings are distributed through Tein in the United States. Anyone that can get Tein products should be able to get them for you.

I ordered mine through weaksauce.org, ask for Collin. Tell him Bumnah referred you. They are a bit pricey. If you can get away with using the ES bushings or the Prothane bushings that's probably just as good of a route to go with.

The S14 LCA's I have are old and beat up. I planned on sand blasting my arms and powder coating them to look new. Removing the OEM bushing and sleeve was always my intent, primarily because I thought you had to replace the bushing outer sleeve. I wound up removing one of my bushings and sleeve before I ordered the Prothane replacement. When my Prothane bushing arrived I noticed no outer sleeve. Whoops.

Long story short, just buy the ES or Prothane pieces, 1/10 of the price of the Super Pro. If you want to replace the outer sleeve of the OEM bushing, then buy Super Pro through Tein. Mine should be here on Friday, pix soon after.

Yeah and they're only 15 times the cost of ES/Prothane bushings.

I think it's only necessary if you're OEM ones are rusted up. Mine were. Can't wait to see them redone.

I do have a question (white comet), how much grease did you put in the new ball joints with the grease able fittings?

Thanks for nothing!

No. Let me know when you do, but I'll probably just have the shop take care of the grease when they put 'em in.

Update!

So. I did a bunch of stuff. It's been slow going because I'm fixing a bunch of small things that need to get done. Plus I've been hitting over 55+ hours a week at work.

Anyways less talkie talkie, more pictures.

New Oil catch can. Yes it's baffled

How it'll mount up:

Mounted my Setrab oil cooler. I'm making a bracket for the top as well. It's not pretty but my tool collection in fabrication is equivalent to a rock and my teeth.

Mounted the S14 throttle body pulley to my S13 throttle body. I also cleaned the inside of it.

Mounted up my oil pressure sensors on the oil block. The adapter is a Defi NPT to PT adapter. I couldn't use it on the side, it pushed the sensor too far out, and it hit the starter. I used some high temp thread sealant. Hopefully it holds.

Modified the fuel rail for the GReddy manifold. Had to trim one of the tabs, removed one of the tabs.

Had to modify the FPR too. Not my best work, it should work, if not I gotta redo this too.

Had the front S14 LCA's fitted. New Super Pro poly bushings, with new outer sleeve. MOOG S13 ball joints. Had them boxed in as well, sand blasted and painted. All work done by MA-Motorsports.

Boxed in:

Modified the hot pipe to have a vacuum fitting added. This will be used to feed the waste gate and the manual boost controller. Again MA-Motorsports...

Pic 02:

Cheap ebay intake tube, modified to have recirculation fitting. NO MORE FIRE OUT OF THE EXHAUST! Again MA-Motorsports...

Now the piece de résistance. I was going to paint my intercooler black. Then I decided I didn't want to. The end tanks are already black. The intercooler needed something. It needed a logo. GReddy intercooler so GReddy logo? Nahhhhh. It needed this:"Bumnah" in "GReddy" font.

I'll be honest, I love it. It's 22" wide, and 4.5" tall.

Most updates this week. I'm hoping to wrap up the intake manifold and oil cooler install. Then it's on to the intercooler, which is easy. Cut hole in the battery tray area. Modify reinforcement bar. Cut bumper to clear intercooler. Oh. and put my logo on the intercooler.

Hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks guys.

The catch can setup was needed, and for the price a real bargain. I'll post the guys information up soon.

It's an S13 throttle body, the pulley is an s14. I swapped it to go with the GReddy manifold installation.

Yeah the stencil was last minute idea, but totally worth it. :

Rotation of the pulley. With the GReddy manifold, the setup is more similar to an S14 setup.
