i don't doubt it, but for some odd reason, i've never had problems with not recirculating. when i got the car, there was a turbonetics raptor on there non recirced and i just put the ssqv in the same spot and its still good

sorry for being unclear. i know no one was telling me to but when matt said about recirculation ftmfw, i'm just saying i don't think its ftw (for me at least) since my car somehow runs perfectly without recircing

If you're running a MAF you should be recirculating. You're releasing metered air into the atmosphere, the computer is dumping x amount fuel based off the MAF reading. The motor is not running optimally. There is no denying the basics. Unless you mount the MAF post BOV, it should be recirculating if you want to have it run properly. Or you run a MAP sensor setup. There's been tons of debate on MAF location as well.

Search FA lots of discussion on it.

Pimp thread Bumnah....intercooler stencil was an awesome idea!

Is your brake booster painted or blasted to raw metal?!

The boost is an Advance Auto refurbished piece. I'm sure it was blasted, then then painted silver when they rebuilt it. All speculation obviously. I purchased it in a vain attempt to cure brake problems.

Had some free time so I took care of a few things.

Ran most of the vacuum hoses.Recirculated the BOVCut some tubing as trimming for some edges.Small stuff, but stuff that needed to be done.

Pix:

Ran the piping for the Oil catch can.

Used a radiator hose to recirculate the BOV. There is a slight kink, but it'll have to do. It should be fine as is, we'll find out.

Another shot of the recirculated BOV. I'm so glad it's finally recirculated!

I also ran all the vacuum lines for everything except for the wastegate. I'm just waiting on the boost controller to arrive. I already know how I'll mount it, and where I'll mount it.

I tried to finish up all the small thing and tidy up the bay a bit. There are hoses running every which way. Real mean don't tuck wires.

I cut up some old vacuum hose to run along the edge of the hotpipe hole.

I did the same for ghetto oil cooler mount. It had some jagged edges, last thing I needed was for one of the oil lines to get punctured by 'em. I also ran a cut up hose along the edge of the radiator where the lines may rub against as well. I even cut up some rubber tubing and covered some exposed bolts.

The garage was a mess; tools everywhere, trash thrown about. I had to clean it up. It was taking forever to do the most minor things. Plus I've been saving up money to purchased the last bits from SPL Parts for my suspension pieces. I may just put everything on my card and push for a completion. Although I hate doing that. We'll see how it pans out.

The t-bolt clamps I needed arrived too, so the inter-cooler setup should be taken care of this weekend. I also started making my own battery tie down for the Braille. I could do it, but it wouldn't look good. I just wound up ordering a Braille tie down yesterday. Quick, and it'll look good.

Cleaned up my work table. Before you couldn't even see the surface, because it was filled with so much trash.

Ditched the electornic boost controller for a manual. Glad I did, so much simpler. Simpler is better.

Perrin manual boost controller

I was going to make a custom bracket and all that jazz. While cleaning up I found this little gem. Figured I could use it for something, did know it be this quick.

Perrin mounted:

Perrin plumbed:

Redline MT-90 & 75W90

Braille battery tie down should be here tomorrow. Hopefully this weekend I'll cut up my reinforcement bar, and bumper.

More updates soon.

As always pix here.

Surprise time off today, did some more work.

Finished cleaning the garage.

Braille battery mount came in. Mounted it up. I didn't used their J hooks, I just used a 6" threaded rod from Lowes. Easier to mount

Cusco license plate holder is for Type X and Silvia bumpers. To make it work on a US bumper is a pain. I paid to use it, and use it I will. End result. Eh, not bad. 4/10

My air compressor is too girlie for my 3" cut off wheel. Sawzall will be doing majority of the reinforcement bar cutting. More pix in a few days.

Definitely one of the best threads on NICO right now.

Does that catch can have a gauge or any way to tell if you've filled it up? Can't tell from the shots I've seen.

It's very cost effective, he'll make it anyway you like, and it's the same price as a hollow GReddy unit.

WOW! That is by far the best made catch can I have even seen! I really like the drain at the bottom. It reminds me of on a diesel fuel catch can on a 6 wheel dump truck I use to drive, I would have to drain the crap the settles at the bottom of the tank every morning. It drained out some nasty crap that is in diesel fuel. There is no sight glass but as long as you drain it every couple months it should be a great product.

Yeah it was pretty f'n nasty in there. I spent some time getting it organized and cleaned up. Work is going much faster. How much time did we waste looking for things that were probably in front of our face the whole time?

I've been tied up with work all week. Finally had some free time tonight, and did what I've been avoiding. Trim the bumper support. Went better than expected. I'm very glad I didn't cut my face off.

Get the radiator support held in place, and mark where you need to cut.

Sawzall's and 3" cut off wheels are your friend.

End result.

Tight clearance.

More updates next week.

As always, more pix here.

Yeah, it's a nice feeling knowing you won't total your car in a 5 mph crash.

Update:

I was out of town all weekend, but when I got home I wrenched for a little.

I took the die grinder to the trimmed reinforcement bar and cleaned up all the jagged edges. I also put some rubber trimming where it's closest to the intercooler.

I went to DC to hang out with a friend who flew in from out of town. Decided to pickup some parts from another friend in MD since I was close by. I got a crack head deal on these parts, and I'd be crack head NOT to of picked them up. I've already put one of them up for sale.

Package.

Part 01 unwrapped. I'll keep this probably.

Part 02 unwrapped. This is up for sale. If I don't get enough money for it, I'll keep it.

More this week...
