Did you spray(or brush) any paint on that bare metal you deburred? Obviously no one will see it under that rubber hose, but I wouldn't be comfortable without that bumper support being rust protected. Just a thought.

My friend was building a time attack 180sx. He ditched the project. Had these pieces left over. They were taking up space in his garage, I took 'em off his hand.

Why can't you buy my hatch? Put down a deposit, and I'll even hold it for you.

I've gotten plenty of emails, no money.

This thing isn't going anywhere for a while.HAHAHAHAHA

I've already ordered up the last of my suspension stuff. SPL is having some machining delays, so it'll be a few weeks before they arrive. That's fine, gives me time to save up for my sway bars.

I may of gotten the last of the RUCAs from them. I ordered them up last week, in black. I wanted the chrome, but they were out of the rear traction arms in chrome. So I switched to the black ones.

So I suppose you can blame me for forcing you to chrome.

Sorry guy.

UPDATE!

Rough week at work. Got in the garage and tooled for a bit to cool the brain.

Mounted up the carbon fiber hood. The hole for the hood prop was too small. I had to enlarge that. I'm still test fitting it. I can't get the hood to close properly. It's pretty annoying. Any tips?

I then took off the front suspension, all of it. Took maybe an hour.

Next up is removal of the exhaust and drive shaft. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend.

Pix:

Entire front suspension out:

Driver side:

Passenger side:

Practically no rust found.

More pix here.

It's going to look even better when it's painted the body color. I'm going to look like such a dweeb with the carbon showing.

Update time.

I'm tired of keeping the build thread going on like 4 different forums, so I killed it on some forums.

Work done:

I took all the front suspension bolts and nuts I removed and put them to my wire wheel on the bench grinder. Good results.

I couldn't bring myself to put the front suspension back together with the rusted out knuckles. Contacted Brian @ MA-motorsports and he quoted me a fair price to have the knuckles sand blasted and painted the same color as the LCA's. I'm very glad I did it.

Driver side mounted up. None of the bolts are torqued down. I just put it all together.

Did I adjust the BV traction arm correctly? My first time with adjustable arms...

I'm modified the hood hinges to enlarge the holes where the hood mounts. I'm hoping to get a larger range of adjust ability to mount my CF hood properly. Here's a comparison of the factory hole diameter, and my hack job.

Thanks for looking. I'm hoping to have this thing put together by the end of April.

As always, more pix here.

Huh? Another update?!

YUP!

Mounted up the front hubs and rotors. Also mounted up the passenger side with everything.

Dropped the exhaust, drive shaft, and the e-brake cables.

I really didn't see me getting this far tonight, but I dropped the rear sub frame too. It went VERY smoothly. The studs coming out of the chassis aren't even rusted. I'm really impressed at how good of shape this old s13 is. The sense of accomplishment with this frame drop was a great feeling. I kind of want to paint the rear sub frame lime green or something. Opinions?

Hopefully, the worst is behind me. I'm going to try my best to get the old bushings out on Monday. Wire wheeling all these bolts is going to suck, BIG TIME.
