He was able to pull my vin up is less than 30 sec. He typed it into the computer, and he had the information.

He told me about the recall, I didnt even know about it till I gave him the VIN.

The worst part about this is I have a real 180sx made in 91, and have seatbelt issues. Also, I have an aftermarket bride seat on the driver's (right) side... I have that famous problem where the buckle won't latch properly, usually in the hot summer sun.

I highly doubt any dealer around here will help me. One refuses service on right hand drive cars. Bastards. Looks like I'll have to buy the parts myself :-(

Just take the buckle off, pop the plastic cover off, and shake the little plastic bits out of the buckle. I actually had to do this on my S14.

my guess is no... if you truly have a JDM 180sx, you dont have passive restraints.

the fact the car was never offered here and its not over 25 years old means that technically its not allowed in the states, titled and on the road. Just because you have it here doesnt make it completely legal. I can see problems with Nissan north america giving any service to a japanese market vehicle.

.. Wow, that'd be a major lawsuit coming down if a dealership refused to fix your belts and you got in a bad wreck afterwards...

Hmm maybe something along the lines of that would be pretty convincing. Or just confuse them like Bush lolz

I'm confused... 'wouldn't it be in the best interest of the dealership to take on warranty work? I mean they get a fixed number of hours paid to them, while an experinced tech can bang it out in much less time.

why?

he chose to buy a JDM vehicle, that was his choice how could he sue nissan for that? it wasnt offered here, therefore its not legal to begin with (whether you got papers for it or not)

Just incase anyone was wondering, Any modification to the restraint system, and seats(that depends on the dealership) automatically voids any and all requirments by nissan. sometimes, if your lucky, you may get one that doesnt notice or doesnt care. But if you already had to fight to get them to inspect it and they find something( ie missing parts or modified parts) they are gonna tell you your SOL. I had one come in and the guy tried to hardwire the motor, but we didnt note it down so he could get it fixed. Just wanted to note that in hopes it pre-warns someone.
