Ok, the antenna is spoken for, anyone want the stock radio?

Any more suggestions for paint?

Wow I just sat here and read this whole thread. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!!!!

I was in the military (Army) and was married. I served in the Gulf war and came home to my wife who had left me for some gay looking fat guy. I told her karma was a b**** and that I still wanted a relationship with my son. She disappeared after the divorce, I hired a detective and found them 4 years later. I keep in touch with my son now and we have a good relationship. Her husband turned out to be into child pornography and was caught trying to solicit barely teenage girls! Karma is a b****!

Build that 240 to her full glory! I was going to offer to sell you my extra one for a hell of a deal if she took it from you! From one vet to another, Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome!!!

Im picking up new doors and a hole-free hatch today for $80!

Pics as soon as I get them. They'll make good practice. I want to shave my door handles, so if I screw it up, I have backups!

And the new (to me) hatch will allow me a base to start experimenting!

If your still broke which I imagine you will be for a while you can try the rustoleum paint job. I'm doing it on my s13 since it will be a daily driver/track car and you don't have to worry about scratches or anything like that since there's no clear. That and you roll it on so there's no over spray and you can stop and start any time you want. Oh yeah and it'll cost a grand total of 50-60 bux, depending on how much you experiment with it.

Google it, theres plenty of people with good results.

Man congrats on the win! I hate that you even have to deal with a situation like that when you've dedicated your time to protecting our country.

As far as your buddies are concerned, I know you're short on funds but this could be a happy medium.

I've been dreaming and scheming about shoehorning an LS1 in there since I first got the Nissan. The mere thought makes my pants tighter.
However, in the spirit of keeping my spirits up, I am focusing on immediate, attainable goals. Mid-term goal is ka-t.
Once ka-t is all up round, I'll start piecing together the LS1 pieces and parts.

I love the LS series motor. I swear the hand of god came down and touched the chevy engineers. Divinely inspired, because man cannot design that alone.

I adjust my previous statement.
I like my cars like I like my women: small, Asian, always down for a ride, and with my American muscle inside.

HOW IS IT ONE 10MM BOLT CAN BE THE HORATIO AT THE BRIDGE FOR THE ENTIRE ANTENNA REMOVAL PROCEDURE?!?!
and why is it always just one stubborn bolt that stumps and infuriates you?
At least it's a sunny day with a nice breeze and some convenient shade....

LOL.. In my case today, it was creased sheet metal where the trunk latch is... Damn thing kept moving down when I'd try to shut the hatch. Had to have a friend lay inside it while I shut it.

It really sucks when it's the stopping point of pulling an entire motor/transmission. Yes, that's for realz and No I don't want to discuss it. :squint: Just know I feel your pain.

HAHAHAHAHAHA pyro, you're too funny!

Uber240: let me know when you package arrives. I dropped it in the mail yesterday, and added a couple other goodies I had laying around.

Update: I have transfer orders. I report to the USS Ohio in November. There's good and bad. Good in that I'm going home (Washington boy here), bad in that I'm now scrimping and saving every last penny I can in preparation for this move.
However, by going to sea, I'm forced to save money. While this means I'll be completely out of touch for months on end, this DOES mean I'll have substantial chunks of change to throw at "Revenge" all at once. I should be able to save several thousand dollars at a shot.

Unfortunatly, this will likely be the last update for some time. Rest assured I will continue to tinker and lurk about the forums.
Catch you all on the flip side!

Two options for future wives:::
A) Find one that loves cars....mine has been cleaning/storing parts for my coupe since I deployed =p.

B) Do like a lot of guys out here do and put your car/personal stuff in a storage container, that way the spouse won't have to worry about it (at least that's the reason you tell them)

From your story, I'm guessing you gave her POA since she opened a credit card and bought a car in your name....and also full access to your deployment monies..  Live and learn, right?

GL with your transfer.
I heard Iraq is built up nice nowadays.
I'm still waiting on my R&R as it is

Were there any photos of your car in all these pages or did I just miss them??

Nismo: Theres pics of my car in various stages of dis/re-assembly scattered throughout. I've messed with the idea of putting together a blow-by-blow pic build thread, after I'm done with wrenching on her. Mostly I've just been complaining.
Iraq has been built up nice, a little nicer since I've been there. I turned one of the plywood guardshacks into a full size pirate ship, complete with mast, rigging, 2 compartments, topside access, working rudder, lights, surround sound, A/C, and a plastic skeleton on the bowsprite dressed up in a set of my ACUs, with solar powered dark sensing red LEDs in the eye sockets for added appeal. Just a little project to keep my mind (and hands busy) in the off hours. I figured if a pirate is a sailor doing unconventional things, then I was a pirate.

I finally re-re-re-re-did the antenna delete. For some reason I had a HELL of a time with getting the hole patch smooth. I was a few more tries away from duct tape and rattlecan.
Image

Then the biggest upgrade yet! I re-titled through Washington, my home state, got the ex removed from the title, and got my new plates today! Notice the expiration on the California plates. I've been riding dirty for a little while....I refuse to pay $600 plus tickets to register. I like Washingtons $53 soooo much better.
Image
Ignore the overspray on the plate.

Image
CA plate off! Hmmm....I missed a spot...

Image
So pretty! And with Washington plates, I'm now free to do whatever the heck I want with the car, as I no longer have to adhere to California regulations!

Image
I've kept all my plates I've accrued since I got down here. Ummmm....yeah.... 1990 Miata, purchased in CA, retitled in WA, built for autocross, destroyed by the ex. 1993 240sx, bought by the ex in CA, awarded to me, retitled in WA. 2001 Z3, bought by me in CA, retitled in WA, plate stolen, new plates issued....
This isn't including the box of old plates I left in my folks garage in WA. Eventually I want to have a WALL O' PLATES in my dream garage that includes 2 lifts, beer on tap, and a spunky, attractive female assistant.

Nismo: If you're having trouble viewing images on what I'm assuming is the USO computer or a shared satellite connection, send me a PM with your APO address and I'll send you hardcopies, plus some other goodies you might need/want. Keep your head down, buddy, my intel says things are heating back up over there.

I was following your thread before I left for basic and never did post in here. It's a shame at what happened, but I was happy to read that everything worked out in your favor. I currently only have two tags but I'm aiming for the same goal. Minus the 2 lifts and beer on tap. I'll just stick with the big fridge :gotme
And as far as the sandbox...I've been reading about stuff going on everywhere, even outside of the sandbox. I should be there in January after I finish my job training.

Uber240: sorry it took so long. Work schedule generally precludes getting to the post office during "normal" business hours. For some reason 0600-1800 is outside the rest of government work hours. :)
Hope they work out for you! Glad you like them.
