YES. I love the expression "goose-egg" when its in my favor! Its great to hear that the burden of a nagging woman is finally off your back, man. I have read through this plenty of times just to be able to take a deep breath and know that NICO will always be there. I can't stop smiling about the "boyfriend lives in grandparents basement" part.

But to the car, it looks to really start showing its color. Glad to see you fixed the holes, god knows no one wants a soggy carpet smell throughout the vehicle. Keep up the good work, but I suggest you begin a build thread that has no relations with the heartless **** in it, just so we can keep the happy thoughts coming!

Congrats man, Glad to hear its all settled.
and btw, I lol'd at the flat black 240 comments.
I was lmao at
Pulling off to the side of the road and turning your lights off make it almost impossible to see a flat black car at 2am.

The natural reaction to a police car with lights going as he drives past you is to breath a sigh of relief.

The natural reaction to see the same police car pass by a second time with lights going is to giggle a little bit.

The natural reaction to see the same police car pass by a THIRD time with lights going is to laugh like a hyena.

I will never ever ever ever ever ever ever EVAR do that again.
I'd like to know tho... how'd that go over with the cop? :rotfl

I'm not sure what happened to that particular LEO. In my own nuclear reactor of an ego, I'm hoping he's sitting over coffee, regaling his compatriots with the chilling tale of....

THE GHOST CAR!

Sometimes, late at night when the moon is black, you can still hear the scream of his engine.....

My dad was in the Navy, and having grown up in a Navy town, I've heard and seen some of the things that can happen with families and relationships. Your situation was easily one of the s*** that I know of. Congratulations on it being over and coming out on top, and good luck with the build of "REVENGE". Thank you for serving and keep it under 100.

Finally got around to cleaning off the road grime.

This is what 1300 miles of bugs looks like
Image
Image

And this is what happens when you take on a piece of semi-truck retread on the freeway at 80+ mph. It wrapped around my tire for a few rotations and proceeded to play merry havoc with everything there.
Image

Yeah....that plastic liner in your wheelwell? Snapped right off and folded back. Rubbed on my tire for about 50 miles with me nearing panic because I couldn't figure out what the hell that buzz was!
Image
You can see where I had to cut it off.
On a side note: While a KBar is very effective at cutting wheelwell liners, and you and I might see it simply as a tool, all everyone else at the gas station sees is a big scary knife.
There were a few "WTF?!" thrown my way, but in their defense, there's quite a few horror flicks that start off in a similar manner.

I'm not sure how ubiquitous it is, nasioc likes to say WAPCE, or women are pure concentrated evil. Really seems to ring true for this case.

Checkbook is in recovery mode (gotta pay down that credit card, who'd a thunk booze, makeup, and lingerie were so expensive?!)
but dag-nabbit, I GOTTA DO SOMETHING TO MY CAR! Seriously, anything.

This weekend I think I'm going to do the antenna delete. Fully functional, goes up and down like it should. First one to ask for it gets it.

My speakers are old enough to vote, and are completely non-functional. Once I have replacements lined up, they'll be coming out. At the moment they are acting as sound deadening.

My stereo is a stock cassette deck (CASSETTES FTW! ROCK OUT TO MY BON JOVI TAPES!) and also fully functional, but lacks the working speakers. That will be coming out too. First one to ask for it gets it.

I have more bondo, that nifty sticky mesh stuff to make it stay in the hole, and my buddy is slinging me some glazing putty to smooth out all the filled holes. He also FINALLY got his air compressor working, so the car should be getting a "respectable" paint job within a month!

For paint, we're really just playing around with it, testing equipment, getting our hands and eyeballs dialed in. I really don't care what the exterior looks like until the engine and interior are complete, so I'm open to suggestions for paint colors/schemes/designs, and NOTHING IS TOO WILD! Stripes, dots, pedobear, flakes, whatever!

Seriously, this is a chance for everyone to see whatever crazy idea you've had rattling around in your grape put to the test.

One thing to be sure of, NICOCLUB.COM will be emblazoned somewhere on her!

In the words of Porky Pig:

Eeb ba ba da deeeeb That's all, folks!

and BTW:
I recently found out that a certain somebody got 7 redlight tickets in the time she took the Nissan to the time she gave it back?
Guess who has to pay them before I can reregister in California.
Guess who's taking his title and registering in WA for $40 a year.
Guess who's going to have to pay those redlight tickets when she gets her CA licence renewed?

Sometimes things just work out too perfect. :chuckle:

I'd call dibs on the antenna if I had the money to pay for it. Completely broke right now. Spent all my money on gas, insurance, inspection, and emissions haha.

I say power rangers theme.

Or a "my co-pilot is lucifer" theme. That'd really turn heads, well at least it would here in southern baptist ran mississippi.

SCS- congratulations on the win, its not every thing you deserved but probably the easiest good out come for you. I wish you had been able to get even get a little money back, but I bet it would be really hard to get money from her any way seeing as she doesn't have any buhahahaha!!!

BUT as far as your 240 goes, you need to paint it with real paint ASAP!!! Not to look better, but because primer is porous and will let the exposed metal under it rust! Any thing that's taken down to metal and is primed needs to be over coated with a layer of actual paint, or primer sealer, other wise every where you've sanded and painted will be come rust! and no one wants that!!

EDIT- even if you re over coat it with flat black to keep the look even that's fine, just as long there's a sealing layer of paint over your metal your good!

Anyway thank you for the service and GOOD LUCK in the future!

Yup! Now that I know I'm not going to be wasting money on a car going to someone else, I'm all about it. Not that there's a whole lot of rusting going on here in San Diego, but still. Rust is one of those creeping evils that will hide and surprise you. Defenitlely needs to get hit with real paint. Block sanding is on the to-do list.
The paint underneath was getting sunburned and peeling, but I'm pretty sure it only got through the clearcoat. It "mysteriously" started to peel and get nasty overnight shortly after I got it, in a distinctive "poured a bottle on it" pattern. Luckily I caught it early and washed it off. Hopefully as I remove the now-faded spraycan primer, I shall find no rust.

There will be power rangers and a "my co-pilot is lucifer" blurb on it somewhere, as well as the driverside door being devoted to nicoclub.com.

My buddies are primarly muscle and mopar type guys, and are trying to steer me towards selling everything and getting a Charger or something.

I told them that I like my cars like I like my women:
Small, Asian, and always down for a ride.
