Just cuz I shopped around for 6 months and bought a base model 05 6mt coupe, doesn't mean you all have to complain lol.

My payments should have been closer to $350/mo but my wife insisted that I get the life insurance policy on it because she thought I'd kill myself lol.

Actually, finding a mid 90s Supra for under 20k isn't as hard as you'd think. I'll admit that most are over 30k, but that doesn't mean that a little shopping can't go a long ways.

Edit: My Credit Union offered me a 30k 36 month warranty for $850 that would have included everything but tires and brake. The dealer extended warranty is a rip off.

I'm not complaining at all my Hemi Ram payment was $400 so to move UP into a G for $150 more a month is awesome!

The dealership extended warranty is a ripoff UNTIL you need to use the extended warranty. A lot of the aftermarket warranty companies are like dealing with HMO insurance groups for a serious health concern.... they will make the process so long either your car will die or you'll give up so they don't have to pay for a repair.

The warranty was so extensive, that instead of having a "what's covered list". They said, everything is covered except and had around 20-30 items (all wear and tear items).

I would not spend $2000 on an extended warranty that I might never use.

I have all sorts of names to call you, but I'll refrain due to your diminished intelligence.

Actually the leaf blower probably pollutes more than your G at WOT.

You have your opinion of the exhaust, I have mine. It's not like we're sharing the same car, so get over it!

Lucky you! I paid half the cost of my car. I am looking at paying it off in the next 1. 5 years. or when I get close to the end of my warranty.

I don't beleivein extended warantys. I would rather keep the cash and pay for it out of pocket. As far as I am concerned, if you have a g-35, you better have $1,000 - $1,500 in some account somewhere for any unforeseen incidences. Even my insurance, for both cars, is less than $500 every six months, for full coverage on the G-35 Coupe and third party coverage with uninsured motorist insurance on the little Nissan. Insurance on my little Nissan is a rip off, as I have never had to use it to fix the car or anything else. I guess, some of us have to subsidize the insurance of others.

Honestly i believe in extended warranties if you are going to keep the car over 4yrs, you just never know when something is going to happen but if you're only keeping the car short term then its not worth it at all

G35_Rican30:

I plan to keep my car for a maximum of 6 years, except if lightning strikes, I might go 8 years. I am 100% sure that my warranty will end in 2.5 years. I love driving my car all the time. So, 23K a year is not bad for a car that calls my name everyday to drive it.

Well, If i save $1,000 a year for the next 4 years for my G-35, even if an engine blows, I may end up taking a loan to complement what I have, and still come out paying less than If I had a warranty, especially if the warranty is built into to your car note.

Of course, you will be paying compunded interest on the warranty you bought to the bank. I would rather saev up and earn interest on y $1,000 a year, instead.

This is just my point of view. I am not saying extended warranties are bad. Everyone's condition is different, and everyone has a limited level of risk they can bear when it comes to their G-35.

For me, religious routine maintenance, is a must for me. For example, I use synthetic oil. However, I change my oil every 3,000 miles. Well, some will say this is excessive for a high performance oil. And I say to them, what is wrong with giving my car new blood mcuh sooner than is required? Cretainly, my car will have plenty of miles, but the internals will look like the iternals of a car with less miles. I used this same philosophy with my little Nissan which has 245K, and does not burn or use oil till this day. I used to change its dino oil at between 2,300 - 2,500 miles. I never let it get to 3,000 miles. The car still runs great with zero issues.

I would rather spend that extended warranty money on religious maintenance of the G-35 coupe. I am a maintenance buff. I don't use the time limits set in the manual to change parts. I just go ahead and change parts ahead of set time. And I have sen it work for my little Nissan.

If auto manual says 24 months, I am already on it at 18 months. If auto manual says 12 months, I am already on it at 8 months. If battery says, 2 years, I am already replacing at 18 months. It doesn't matter how well that part is currently working--I just replace it.

Honestly it really comes down to choice and whether you want the extended warranty or not but how much is an extended warranty maybe 1000-2000k and that comes out to maybe 20 dollars or less when you consider it on a car note which isnt much at all...now in my case i didnt buy the extended warranty cause i'm only going to keep my G for a couple years and then upgrade maybe to a 37 or M..not sure yet but i do know that if i was going to keep a car long term over 4 yrs (keep in mind i'm going from brand new) i think an extended warranty would help out alot because you just never know what could happen but if i bought a used vehicle i most def would buy an extended warranty cause you never know how the other person treated the car and it may save you thousands of dollars whereas you only spent maybe 20 bucks or less more on a car note but thats my take on it

There are little wear bars in the tread. When the bar becomes flush with the tread, you are at the legal minimum. I was talking to someone on here and they mentioned that the tread material and the casing material aren't the same, so I'd get those changed soon. PM me and I might have a deal for you.

I hope I am not in Florida when you are on the road in heavy downpours. Waiting until the wearbars show is putting your G at risk to hydroplaning & causing a serious accident. Do a search a nd read my post on tires.

I agree with you! I just noticed that as the tire wears, especially the rear tires, moving from lane to lane at higher speeds in a straight line, is getting more scary. I am beginning to notice that control, under those conditions, can be dangerous, and in fact, on a highway, too much input could easily lead to one slamming a guard rail or those concrete medians. So, for now, I am careful driving while I wait till next month to order some new tires.

- The lack of space between the seats and middle console (I dropped my Costco card down that void and I swear it just disapeared)

- That you can't program it to unlock all door when it's put on park.

- That I have a screw in my tire right now...

Other than that, I love it!

You can reread my post on tires here.

zerothread?id=307229

I feel you are making a mistake by not replacing tires as soon as you feel you are starting to lose control at times. I know how sudden thunderstorms crop up in Florida and it only takes a split second to lose control and perhaps destroy your G, injure or kill someone?NOT WORTH TAKING THAT CHANCE BY TRYING TO SAVE A FEW $$$I'll be in Florida next month and certainly don't want you sliding into me on bad tires

Also we want to keep you safe as we don't want to lose you from this site I don't always agree with you but like having you around

Safety locks!I completely forgot about that. It's a nice feature to have your doors lock when you hit 20 kph, sadly and for some strange reason, it's missing on the G.

I've got to agree with telcoman. Tires and brakes are no place to worry about saving money. Consider what you are risking if you can't stop or remain in control. Be sensible, re-tire!

I wonder how beneficial that would be with the intyelligent key. All anyone would have to do is walk up to the car while you were in it and push the little black button on the handle and the door would open, locked or not.
