I hate the quirks in the computer screen. If I start the car and disk 3 was playing, it always commences to "changing disk" and plays disk 4. It has a fuel log that doesn't ever log anything. Little stuff like that throughout the system

Aside from that, I am leasing (so I can't modify it) and still take it to a professional track on Sundays. Two sundays ago @ Yello Belly Race track, it was undefeated in the 1/8th of a mile against a 2004 GT Mustang (modified), an Acura TL type-S, a Chevy Impala SS (5.8L V8), and for icing on the cake a 2008 350Z. In all cases, my reaction time sucked so as much as I would like to say "it's just the driver", it was the damn car...

The old schoolers in their Mach 1 Mustangs and drag cars are even amazed to see a stock four door sedan blowing away all the sport cars...

Quote »"I also hate the stock intake and exhaust system. They sound like a 20 y/o retard trying to whine to get a bottle."[/quote] Then you must be one of the few people on on earth who think so...Seriously. The one thing I constantly hear from other car owners, no matter if they like or dislike the G, is that it has the sweetest exhaust note of any car outside of a Ferrari or various other cars far outside the price range of the G.

With regards to my own gripes, they are few.

- That seat belt ring on the shoulder of the front seats (mine's an '07), has that silly little slit in it, which ALWAYS causes my damn belt to slide out of it no matter how gentle I am when taking off my seat belt.

- NO iPOD LINE IN. (cars that cost WAY less have the damn thing...)

- That fuzzy material used in the rear middle console and the center armrest console, and that's used on the roof liner.

- More horsepower?

That's about it really, and the G37 has address all of those and more, so when it comes time, if I ever decide to, trade in my 35 for the 37, I'll be happy in knowing that they've address those issues.

Well you know what is funny. I have a friend that does a lot of driving for work.

He has a 2004 FORD F-150 WITH THE 4.6L MOTOR AND 254K MILES.

Original motor and Trans

TRUST ME I WOULD HAVE NEVER BELIEVED IT IF I DIDN'T SEE AND RIDE IN IT WHITH MY OWN TWO EYES

No one ever gets 250k miles out of a ford that is only 4 years old

254K ON AN 2004 DAMN!

Yeah... tell about it!! lol.

As to the topic,1. Lack of low end torque in the 5AT. (I've been beaten off the line by four cylinders!)2. Oil dipstick location. (Minor annoyance)3. Brake wear. (Inherent in the '03-'04 MY's)4. Tire wear. (I know... it's a SPORTS car)5. Lack of iPod connection.

Other than that, the G is the best, most fun to drive car I have ever owned. I seriously considered a 911 before buying the G, but after reasearching and finding out that owners are spending 3k+ per year just on normal basic upkeep, (not to mention the lack of room for a 6'-4" guy), I opted for the G and never looked back. Aside from the mods, I have spent VERY little money in two years of ownership.

As to the tire wear, I have a friend that has an '03, and was frustrated about buying new tires so often, so he thought he would be smart and change the wheels and tires to the same size on all four corners, allowing him to rotate the tires. It looks terrible now, and I didn't have the heart to tell him that it isn't about being able to rotate the tires. He will still experience rapid inside tread wear because of the suspension set-up!

Everything on my list is really just minor stuff, and there is far less of it on this car than on others I have owned.

My gripe regarding the exhaust is two fold.

Every, G35, FX35, 350Z sounds alike. There is almost no difference in their sound. Granted they all have the same or very similar engine, but exhaust too?

I just hate how it whines. My I30 has a home-made shortram and a taiwanese aftermarket muffler and my wife likes the way it sounds better than the G. Even her Celica with an AEM CAI and an HKS catback system sounds meaner.

Sentient,

You need to do Magnaflow mufflers and you would love the exhaust. If I do any mods to my car it will be Magnaflows!

07 G35, camera is too close when he revs but listen to the idle!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated

No disrespect bro, but you've been doing quite a bit of whining yourself! Bite the bullet and buy your baby a new exhaust!! You'll love it every time you stab the long pedal!

High Five, gwoods!

Yeah, I'm working 54 hours a week to compensate for my wife's 24 hours per week plus she's going to school.

Extra money for mods isn't in the budget right now.

If somebody wants to buy my I30, I'd happily get a cat-back exhaust and an AEM intake.

There is no way I would add that Magnaflow to my G.The only thing that sounds better than the G, is the current V8 Mustang. THAT has a sweet startup sound.

I'm sorry to continue on this tangent to the OP, but I completely disagree.

I've heard leaf blowers that sound like the G.

Yeah, I posted a thread on the general forum asking members how the afforded their rides. The general concensus was budgetting. Once I layed it all down on paper (screen lol) I realized we could afford it, so I went shopping.

I'm actually questioning if I'll be keeping the G though. The performance is nice, but I've definately felt better and I'm thinking about quitting one of my jobs and going back to school so my G payment plus the Insurance premium might be worth the sacrafice. We'll see.

If I do, you all will have dibs on it.

Now, I'm going to have to do sound clips of the G and my I and post it on the General Forum to see which everbody likes better Lol.

Oh one more rant. I'm fine with the Sunglass holder's size. It fits my glasses just fine, but why didn't they insulate that damned thing. My shades were cooking my face last time the sun came out.

I can relate totally. My girl and I are looking to buy a piece of property in the next year or so, and as a result I am going to start paring down my monthly nut to be able to pay off some peripheral debts. As a result, it looks like I'll be trading the G in for a cheaper car soon. Just the thought of letting my G go is breaking my heart, but it is for a far better cause in the long run.

I understand! The emotional bond with the G-35 cannot be explained. Take heart and know that we are all with you with in the pain of a future loss of the G.

I always erase any thoughts of loosing my g. My minds know not to play tricks on me.
