Saw this thread on the other forum and thought we should get one started on here. This car is damn near perfect compared to other cars on the road (in my opinion) but what do u guys hate about it. My issues:1. The interiors squeaks when i go over bumps on the road (usually when its cold out tho)2. Sometimes my damn BOSE CD player makes my CDs skip even when they have NO scratches on them3. Gas mileage..... nuff said

other then these 3 issues... i have the best car ever made PERIOD!!!!

1- Weak BOSE system, i think Infiniti should go with somebody else..maybe Mark Levinson or Harmon Kardon

2- Orange color background, maybe a tint of blue would look better.

3- More horsepower for 5AT, 280 is good but 300 would have been better

1 - Seat creaking. I understand odd rattles etc with sports suspension (350z's are even worse) but the seat pisses me off. 2 - Weight. Wish the coupes were lighter.

Love the power, modability, interior is really great for a Nissan and they are dang sexy.

Coupes1, 2, 4, 5, and seats aren't comphy enuff for me...

Any car will squeak or rattle when its cold...that's just because different parts contract at different rates with temperature. And Bose car audio has always, always sucked...in every car its in. Its just a way to get people to pay more money, that's my take on it at least. The non-Bose system in my car, people ask me if it really is stock, it sounds very good for stock.

But for me.

1. The paint absolutely sucks in terms of chipping. There are more chips on my car than my 1998 Explorer with 175K miles on it (yup, you see that correctly, that's a Ford with 175K miles and still running) that sees harsh winters.2. The seats on the coupes, the function to move them forward to allow passengers to get into the back is way too slow. They should turbo charge those seats on that function.3. Dip stick location, although they fixed this later on in the 07s I believe.4. There seems to be no transmission stick to check its levels/color...I haven't found one yet.5. No matching cover for the open area opposite the battery.6. Infiniti used a very odd size for the CD player, forcing those who want to go aftermarket to buy a new trim piece. And on top of that, they integrated it into the climate control circuit board, so they also force us to update that as well, adding $300 to the price tag to upgrade.7. The CD player has very basic screen that doesn't scroll (automatically) information and it washes out in the sun.

I guess all of those are not things I hate, just nit-picky things haha. The only one I really hate is #1.

Yes it is the best car I've ever owned. It sure beats my 1958 el crapo $uckin Ford

Very few deficiencies but #1 for me is no scrolling on my Factory Sirius Radio.#2 No Caller id on the dashboard on incoming calls. (Acura TL has it)I need to know when the boss is calling.#3 The flimsy dip stick#4 Oil consumption. I did not pass the Infiniti requirement for a new engine. In a 3100 mile oil consumption monitoring test I used 12mm of oil. Roughly about a qt. Infiniti requires 18mm of oil consumption as measured on the dipstick. Had I not checked my oil regularly when I first bought the vehicle and brought it back with no oil in it with the engine making noise, I would have received a new engine This by the way was the best this vehicle has done. Why it has taken the rings to seat so long I have no idea. Even a qt of oil in just over 3k miles is still not normal but

Other than that it is a fine automobile

I have one really annoys me about my G. I only have one in my garage. Other than that I love it today as I loved it at the first day.

I don't usually crying about my car. If I don't like something I just change it or buy a car I like. That's why I bought the G not from the competitions.

Yes it is but I'm not going to make myself crazy over it. It used 1 qt per 1000 miles when new but at that time the dealer said that was normal. Normal my *** But with oil still under $1 a quart its no big deal. My extended warranty runs out in 2012 by which time I'll have well over 100k miles, so I will probably just get a new one by then. Maybe they'll have a diesel by then that gets 40PMG

I last drove a Ford in 1960 when I got rid of my 58

http://www.washingtonpost.com/....html

My last American car was a 1953 Cadillac 4 door sedan. It had a big back seat where I had some memorable happy endings back there.

LOL! I was trying to think of something I disliked about my G....then I saw the sunglasses holder comment, and I must concur, who the heck wears glasses that flat haha! I was actually thinking of custom mounting a radar detector in the sunglasses area and running a remote sensor right next to the rear view mirror temperature sensor on the top center of front windshield now that would be hawt....and you wouldn't have to scramble to hide your detector if you got pulled over haha! just close the sunglasses compartment!

Only 4 days old --- but only 2 complaints (sedan):

* Rear seat belt connector is nearly inaccessible when using a child seat* 5AT should be a 6AT

They must have fixed the CallerID, and I think it depends on your cell phone, but it works fine in mine (BT with a Treo and an LG). Don't have enough mileage to determine mileage, but really, that's the last thing I looked for when I made the purchase decision. No creaks or squeeks. Sunglass holder...hmm... I guess I need to find it. There's still stuff I'm finding. The BOSE system is "just right" according to my wife (sorry fella's, she's the final authority ... dead issue).

^ Welcome to NICO! I know what cha mean about the BOSE. I actually think mine is just right too......but I've been out of the bump the base, rattle my car, and blow my ear drums phase for many years now! I think it's cause I work around jets all the time and have learned to appreciate my hearing. BTW, noticed your SIG. Good Job! Keep it up dude.....if you're deployed, stay safe!

I am sure I've seen this thread before.

The engine needs 50 lb more torque and from like 1500 RPM all the way through the powerband then I could beat those damned SRT-8 chargers and 300's

I hate the damn oil dip stick.

I hate how the damn engine is burning so much oil.

I hate how my coupe is slower than a god damn sedan.

Everything else is lovely.

Curious: why do you hate where the dipstick is? Did they radically change it for '07/'08? It's pretty convenient from what I see.

2003-2006 model years, the dip stick is off to the side of the engine and down. You have to reach between the intake and engine to be able to put back in, which can be hard because its long and flimsy, and you have to be able to get it in just right. 07-08 they moved it to the front making it so much easier.

Do you have the coupe or sedan. If you have the coupe, how aren't the radio controls intuitive?

And as for the sunglasses, I can get my Oakleys to fit in there, albeit sometimes I have to maneuver them, but they fit.

Folks:

I love everythign about the G-35 Coupe. I love its imperfections as well as I love its perfections. No other car I have driven has ever made me feel this way. There is truly a magic to the G-35. Its almost like a romantic relationship.

It is yet, one of the most unusual cars I have experienced in look and feel, except for Mazda's rotary engine. When other cars drive well at the beginning and deteroriate with time, the G-35 coupes seems to get better as it ages. When other cars are insanely fast when they are new and deteriorate when old, the G-35 seems to get faster and better as it ages. I am yet to drive any other v-6 that loves to stay at 5000RPM all day long. 5000RPM would have netted many other cars several maintenance visits to the dealership. The car is rev happy. I have never driven any other car of its size that is so hard to drive below 3000RPM. I have never driven any other car of this size that seems to drive horribly at below 3000RPM and drives marvellously at over 4000RPM and beyond. I am mystified at how upside down everything I know about cars, seem to run counter in the G-35 coupe.

When other cars will net you a ticket faster than you can say your name, The G-35 seems to cause cops to restrict giving you a ticket as they themselves are caught up appreciating the nature and looks of the car. It appeas to me that cops are most likely to let you off the hook with a G-35 coupe because they already know that it looks fast, and so it is not unusual for G drivers to go fast. I have experienced this a couple of times.e

Everything is to be loved with the G-35 Coupe. The G-35 will wear you out with sensory overload, and intense excitement. I think many people will be worn out of the excess excitement due to the G-35 coupe, and sell their car eventually, because no other car could have been as good as the G-35 Coupe.

Infinit will have to be patient for people to get worn out with the best car they have ever made. If they think people are just going to give up their G-35 for a newer model, they are then deluding themselves. Won't ever happen!

If I had my war, I would make sure mY G-35 is parked in my bed room every day.

BTW, the G-35, other than earlier issues it had at the beginning, is turning out to be a really reliable vehicle as it ages. It seems to be holding up well, even under intense and hard driving.

VIVA LA G-35

I hate that my drivetrain "drags" when under 2k rpms. It sounds like something rubbing against commercial carpet.

I think the damned car should have a better power to weight ratio. My I30 still puts me back in my seat faster and more often than the G does.

I hate that Infiniti picked obnoxious sized tires for the 19" rims (and I don't want to run 275s in the rear!!!).

I hate that it's not low enough to provide exceptional handling, but it is low enough to scratch the chin spoiler on most curbs.

I hate that VDC is not more accesible on demand (like it should turn off after 3/4 throttle automatically j/k).

I also hate the stock intake and exhaust system. They sound like a 20 y/o retard trying to whine to get a bottle.
