Hey Divindra,

My buddy has one of those adapters and will let me try it out this weekend....I'll report back. It should work and I'll be getting one thru eBay -- I saw some for sale under $10.

Thanks alot. Just from previous experience make sure its an apple oem adapter because some of the ebay knock offs do not work and will say this cable is not supported or some connecting issue. It cost a little more but it could be the difference.

Today I tested the Apple Lightning to 30 pin adapter w/ .2m cord with my USA Spec....works perfectly!!!! It actually is an improvement in sound quality by using my iPhone 6 compared to my iTouch. Night and day difference. after testing the system with my buddy's adapter, I bought one online then picked it up at the Apple Store. I had a $30 gift card so I only ended up paying $12. difference. :bigthumb:

So for all the guys that upgraded to the iPhone 6 or an Apple device that uses the lightning connector, its a good investment to get an Apple Lightning to 30 pin adapter if you are using the USA Spec ipod system....

Perfect. Now if you could just figure out if there is some sort of adapter that would allow NY to skip winter and return to atleast 65 degrees that would be great. Hope thats not too much to ask for :bigthumb:

hahhahaha....I wish I could...we cancelled our trip this fall/winter to CT since the weather was gonna be out of control. I don't like risking with airport delays and such.... We'll have a sunny Thanksgiving here in Southern Cali...

Well...my cast wheels took a nice hit today.

I was in a parking lot taking snow fall pictures of the car and as I was pulling out I turned off VDC, cut the wheel, and hit the gas. Even with 2" of snow, wheels didn't break loose. They grabbed traction and somehow, after 10 years of doing precisely the same things when messing in empty parking lots, I popped the TIRE off the WHEEL lol. I was like whaaaaaaaaa? I didn't even realize it (and just thought snow got packed into the wheel as it felt very similar) only to realize I had lost air in the tire. Road on it for like a quarter mile before pulling over. Wheel only had rash, that was it.

Dude that's sick. What wheels are those? Is "STR Concave" the name? Might have to get a set...lol.

EDIT: Nvm, I think I found them. STR 607 is the wheel right?

WIth yesterday's snow I was thinking about doing that! Glad I didn't! Not much give to be found in the X setup.

I am totally happy with how my M35x handles the snow. I wondered if it would be up to the standard set by my previous Audis, but it turns out to be their equal if not even better.

The M35x was easy to do donuts in. Have done some nice ones. The M56x is like on rails. Won't break loose.

Here's a video of me in my old car:

As you know, my 2007 M was totaled this past Sept and it was replaced with an 09 M. The newer M has the rear entertainment bits with the fold down screen, reclining temp-controlled seats, and a rear sun shade. Both Ms are RWD as there is no need (IMHO) for AWD in Florida. Let me get to it now. The newer M has extra buttons on the console aside from the standard seat temp controls. A total of 5 buttons instead of 2. One extra button is for the rear sunshade, another to lock out the extra controls built into the rear arm rest, and yet another blank piece of black plastic that I assumed would be the 'snow' button for AWD models.

I was searching Ebay for an unrelated piece and stumbled upon a bloke selling the 'snow' button taken off a 2006 M. It appeared to be the same shape and size as the blank button on my car and it was just $15 shipped so I bought it mostly out
of curiosity.

Upon removing the console piece that these switches snap into, I was quite pleased to see that it actually DOES fit. I also noticed an extra blue connector coming from the main harness containing the connectors my 4 switches were hooked to. I connected the fake snow switch to that extra connector and BAM! It lights up when activated! It also lights with the rest of the dash while driving at night.

Of course I don't have AWD so it does absolutely nothing, but it negates the obvious reminder that my console was missing an option due the dodgy blank plastic plug because Infiniti could not be bothered to make two different switch plates - one for AWD and one for RWD. Let me state clearly I am NOT a poser! I just don't fancy dodgy blank hunks of plastic on my console is all.

Larz, you should black out the snow and make that switch your nav hack button. Then it will be functional.

Mex, I don't want or need a NAV hack, but you make an excellent point! That switch could be re-labelled and used for just about anything I may want to add later. Thank you !

I could go James Bond and label it: rockets or EJECT, LOL
I unplugged it so it's just a dummy switch coz I feared it may mess with other electronics or the VDC system, making it think I have AWD. Probably impossible, but I feel safer knowing it isn't connected to anything.

I do like the style and color of the wheels, but isn't this VERY dangerous to drive on tires like this?? It doesn't look safe at all. :ohno:

I've known many people over the years that have done stretched tires,, only worries are potholes and damaging the rim, and changing my wheel on side of road. It's not my daily driver,, but yea will probably go another 20 mm or so on tire width soon. The stretch here is at the max for sure but rolling on em about a month now all hold psi fine, I keep it about 42 all around. The ride is pretty rough. People have been stretching tires for years, mostly in Europe. But yes if roads are rough where you live. Probably not the best idea... I'm very stubborn

After finally getting the car to the point where i wanted it for 2015 the car was hit
Last week i had the car Plastidipped Red Rum Pearl. It came out a little lighter than i wanted but i was really opening up to it.
Image

Also i had RAD in NY perform a complete 90000 mile service and replace a caliper along with new brakes and rotors from brakemotive. The car went to Orlando, Florida from Brooklyn.
Unfortunately on the day after Christmas it was involved in a 3 car accident in South Carolina and I fear it might have come to an end.

Image

The damaged didn't seem bad at first but upon review the inside seam on the trunk has completely split, the tail lights cracked, the trunk is twisted, bumper caved in, megan exhaust kinked and whole exhaust probably shifted, rear passenger has a hard time closing and other things.

The car was amazing so i am pretty sad however everyone was OK and that is what is important. I will find out in the coming days what is the cars fate. The car drove all the way back from south carolina in this condition. Drive train seems unaffected at all other than the exhaust leak that was caused by the accident.

On another note look at how well the Plasti Dip held up. Amazing stuff. Might even make a video showing me peeling the dip and showing all the cracks it had covered.

I truly feel your pain. My 07 was totaled in September. It looks to my eye that you will need quater panels, bumper, trunk, trunk lid, and new exhaust. Even if the frame was not damaged, I'm pretty sure the cost of repair will be too high compared to the car's value and the insurance company will make it a total loss. I hope that doesn't happen, but prepare yourself just in case. I was lucky enough that my insurance paid me enough for my M (97,000 miles) to almost completely cover the cost of my present low mileage (about 25,000 miles) 2009 M.
And you're right - red rum pearl looks amazing on the M. Just make sure the adjuster peels back the dip so he can document the paint is in great shape underneath. That will help with your appraisal.

Yes larz, there seems to be some gravitational force to the rear bumpers of our M's and southern drivers lol. And its funny because my car has 97XXX miles and was written off in the same manner. Im not sure if i will be able to find another crimson roulette fully loaded M as this one was hard to come by as it is. Maybe Jeep SRT8. Anyways id love to keep it. Had big plans for it, but no replacement for displacement in the Jeep lol. We shall see what Allstate has in store for me.
