Haven't been inside a VG yet, and am VERY curious about the squirters and other advances such as VTC, bottom end, etc... :bigthumb:

Just finished installing oil pan and motor mounts. I'll have pics up monday in build thread.

I couldn't go any further because I need a oil pressure sensor. :squint:

Installed some 2.5" test pipes :)

Complete exhaust system now consists of ceramic coated Stillen headers, 2.5" resonated test pipes, and my 3" Veilside Evolution exhaust.

Sounds like this now :)

Also installed my Ganadors

Mostly because I got sideswiped :/

Scuffed the paint on my fender, front bumper, and wheel, dented my door and chipped the paint, broke off my sidemirror, and broke my sidemarker :/

Although my exhaust is not yet fap-worthy, I'm still glad it is almost compete...picked up 2-1 pipe and for $20, a complete upper plenum! Downpipes, test pipes with high-flow cats and cat back (all gently used) $370. Inexpensive parts, not cheap. Gotta love it!

Sounds pretty similar to mine now Edgar. I have Megan resonated test pipes and HKS exhaust. Sounds like yours revs up a bit quicker though, I'm assuming your have an unorthodox pulley setup?

Took 6 of the 8 downpipe bolts/nuts out without issue. Just the top two on the drivers side left, and I have a plan for them. transmission & everything else still in, other than the battery tray. 30 min invested so far

Pulley and lightweight flywheel. It revs nicely.

Some sweet talking and a little bit of love and WD-40 did the trick the crank pulley is off and now the lower timing cover is free. :gapteeth:

I was at a pick n pull gathering some stuff I need, and came across some other goodies I could not pass up:

Image

Rear jdm splash guards and brackets, one piece fiberglass jdm "crash bar", front mounted wiper fluid reservoir, and that spendy little license plate bracket with the ones I made from a DIN bracket. Got the headlights tossed in with the other stuff, they are nearly perfect.

Needed to put the MegaTron back in the NA, so another for the TT!

Going to match your splash guards to the paint or rock them black?

I would just rock the splash shields black because you won't have to worry about the paint chipping.

Indeed! It just wasn't right battery-swapping, and the extra high-wear parts are always welcome.
I was thinking along the lines of Mark's thoughts on the splash guards, being my DD I think that they would get trashy looking too quickly if painted so black they will stay.
I'm thinking of trying to fit a steel bar in the fiberglass crashguard so it actually CAN do something useful rather than break like a twig (or bend like a pretzel with the stock aluminum tube) in any minor collision.
F the weight, I want a BUMPER! :chuckle:

DCaff300ZX wrote:BFG R1's...Good GOD man, you gonna be trackin' that beast???
:yesnod I will be tracking it, and I'll be Daily driving it too! Interior will be coming out on track days, reinstalled as soon as I get back from the track. I'm looking into track day events in the northeast through my connection in ZCON with a GORGEOUS datsun 240z who gave me a great price on the BFG's.

My brother told me he has more automotive dedication than I do, and claims to be a better 'racer' even though he's never had track time. So I bought my first set of slicks. He hasn't. Win for me so far :rotflmao

And, well, someone told me I can't get to 500hp under 15k. So i'm at 50 bucks for each BFG R1 tire, 525 for the wheels the car is coming out with on the first day. That takes care of that.

Now all I need is to polish my current wheels and that'll take the exterior to 90% where I need it.

Next up for me to buy is one GT28R turbo or the 740cc injectors next paycheck. The other will follow the following week. Gotta start the performance end of the build too haha. (scratch that, 1 piece driveshaft from shaftmasters is first)

By the way, does anyone know about any problems launching/cornering the z32 with slicks? How much torque should the rear diff be able to hold before it starts to fall apart (not literally.) ?

And also, would HICAS be better on a road course more than just NO-CAS? (lol)
