hmmm, thanks for that info, but i dont want to go bigger then 17s. im also considering fn's now so who knows, wheels arent a top priority.

you need the brackets but you dont "need" the extensions. it'll look really bad without the extensions though. its far more noticeable then the chuki bumper and missing chuki extensions

Wiring doesn't really intimidate me. Splicing off the side markers is easy. The turn signal ones though...on the USDM harness/plug it dual functions as parking lamp and turn signal...so I guess I just gotta make sure I get the right wire combo. So what are the bulb types for them? I'm confused by getting plugs and shaving them to fit...what if I just hardwire/solder them to the socket (with enough slack for removing the bumper. Or even some disconnects. Seems easier? I do plan on wiring them correctly though.

http://www.thenismoshop.com/ik...12698^That is the bracket you speak of? Really that important huh? k I'll add it on. Is there something on the bumper that **** mounts to I'm assuming?

I need more clarification on the bumper extensions, kinda confused on that. On the WestCo's site they list brackets for the extensions that are "recommended."

I didn't ask about the rears but I guess they're the same as the sides? So I have to drill tiny holes into the side of my car? I do not like that idea. How'd you tackle knowing where to drill the holes for the tabs?

Thanks

i dont know the bulb numbers off the top of my head but the positioning lights and signals came with bulbs. (positiong are def 194s) you coudl do it your way, i just got generic plugs and trimmed em up. i'll post pics of what im talking about.

you dont need the extensions but the bumper brackets are clearly visible without them and it looks horrible. i'll post pics of what it would look like. for the rears use double sided tape and screw holes. for the tabs in the sideskirts, i dabbed paint on the tabs and held them against the body whered theyd go and the paint markings indicate where to drill (this is a 2 man job btw).

let me know if u have any more questions. i'll be postin gthe pics for you tomorrow

minor update-

mrgreeneyes was over for a little yesterday and he managed to place some of the grounds since theyre relocated from their original location.we also managed to snake the engine room harness throguh the dash frame to mock up where it'll live permanetly. it basically just needs loomed and bunched together. the only other things that need done for wiring are extended the driver side light wiring, mount the relay boxes and other random boxes and swapp the door guts to the power options.heres how it sits right now

after the wiring fun, i emptied 10 gallons of old gas out of the gas tank and took 80 grit to the 18 years of grim on tank. after wards i hosed it off and wiped it down with paint thinner. after the surface was completely dry, i coated the top of the gas tank with truck bed liner. im about to head over to do the other side now that the top is dry. after the gas tank is finished, i will remove the rear diff and drive shaft and take 80 grit to the wheel wells and underbody before coating them in truck bed liner. look for a bigger update later tonight

alright now that all my pics work, heres a small update before going to bed. the gas tank is done now on both sides and looks pretty good.

i also made the decision to go all out and drop the sub frame, not bad at all, just 4 main bolts. it took less then 20mins to drop the whole thing by myselfi got to work and removed the stock struts and rear diff as well as the drive shaft

i did a little cleaning up and inspected the rear sub frame a little. its in damn good shape, it just needs cleaned up and revitalized i also removed the front tension rods and took them to a shop to have the bushings pressed out to make way for energy suspension tension rod bushings i had gotten from my friendthat was the original plan, but after examining the other bushings on the car, i noticed most were shot form sitting for so long. i guess thats the price i pay for no under body rust. after thinking it over the only logical course of action was to get teh energy suspension hyper flex master bushing kit. i ordered it that night from advanced auto parts for $165 (i know i can get it cheaper elsewhere but i needed it asap) and less then 12 hours later it was in the store waiting to be picked up. so now those s14 ten roads with energy suspension bushings are no longer needed, so their up for sale.the wife was snapping some pics so here i am cleaning upthats all for pics from that day ( i would have updated sooner but photobucket hates me )

TODAY- before going to work i focused on the tension rods. i picked them up form J and R metal works, the local Amish shop where i had dropped them off at and i picked up 2 cans of semi gloss black while i was out as well. heres the dirty tension rods with the old bushingsi took a bench mounted wire wheel and 60 grit sandpaper to each arm to clean everything (including original paint) off of it. i then hung each arm up to spray and lightly coated with the semi glosswhile the paint was drying i took all the tension rod hardware and took the wire wheel to it. the hardware went from dirty to new lookingi dont have pics of thsi yet, but i proceeded to paint the hardware semi gloss as well. teh hardware and rods and drying overnight and my jdm vlsd cover is soaking in the parts washer to help take the jdm grim off of it. at that point i had to go to work but everything is drying or soaking so it'll be ready to go tomorrow. my next step is to swap my vlsd guts into the new pumpkin, pain the pumpkin, and diff cover and start sanding and truck bed lining the underside of the car. stick around for more updates (now with worknig pics )

oh and heres a random pic of the stuff i got from spl parts
