i can accept dale's label of failure but i'm working towards having it removed. i have updates and pics to post but since it's 3:40am i'll post em later. i plan on really getting lots of work done in the next few days. the past few days i've had to focus on my brother's car so my progress has suffered

I was driving home from work IN IT lol. I was soaked. Only took me like 30 seconds to run through the parking lot to my car but man. It was fun

long overdue updateas the video showed i wired my lights up for alternating turn signals. since my harness is exposed i ran everything neatly and loomed it with everything so it looks clean and factory

clutch came in and i'm anxious to see how it feels. some of the pics are blurry from my step brother in law messing with my camera.

trans laying in the pit

redid the rms cover, installed pilot bushing, and reinstalled flywheel, then bolted up the clutch and everything is torqued down

got my dad and brother and we put the trans back up. surprisingly it went in easier this time then with the old pilot bushing.

my door handles being painted

besides that i've also focused on finishing up my wiring. there isnt much to do i'm just clean up and wrapping the harness and mounting all my relays.it's still a little messy but in the next pic you can see some of the section that i've finished

i still have little things in there to finish like the alarm and wiring up a lit ignition ring, nothing crazy though

a few random pics i took of how the car is currently sitting

don't know if i took pics of these yet but here the rear seats cleaned up and ready to go in\

went to the junkyard with most of the crew on monday and then did MGE's gangsta alignment. picked up some stuff from the yard and i'll have more to update soon.

From sitting for so long, your car probably think it's getting preserved instead of being built to drive. :P

Clutch looks real good dude. Thx for the deal on ur exedy. I actually have exedy stickers from formula d IDK where to put em...

I'll be honest, half boo for the rear seat, but cheer for the seat material and how clean u got it. It deserves to go in. Going to be a nice comfy dd 240sx if one was ever made (that wasn't stock) lol. comfy compared to most is what I'm getting at.

Hey jeff did you get a complete HKS exhaust or did you just weld in the muffer? i'm thinking about installing an apex'i N1 muffler on my 14 and i'm kinda undecided whether I want it angled or straight. You got any side shots of the car? Your straight HKS power muffler looks pretty sweet

it gets closer everyday. exhaust appointment is currently on sept 11, but i'm gonna see if another shop can do it sooner.

thanks man, and i'm glad the exedy will go to good use. the back seat thing is i've always liked em cuz it gives a finished look and plus since melissa hates 240s, the nicer and more like a "normal car" it looks the better. besides it'll go with my black ic in helping give off a sleeper look

i got the muffler for cheap so i just welded it on. its pretty straight but might have a slight angle, iirc we just went with the same angle the other one had. i'll snap some pics tomorrow for ya. so many ppl comment on how big the muffler is when they see it in person

heres a little more of what's been going on. spent most of my time with the wiring again but its almost done. all of it is wrapped and ready to be secured but theres a few Rogue wires still and about 4 wires that need ran to finish the alarm *cough cough, keegan *

i also made up the 2nd bracket i need for my manual seatbelts, actually thats a lie, i made Cody make it

for some of the rest of the time i helped cody with his s13 stuff

and last but not least, i decided to go stealthy

blacked out the ic and the lower piping. i'm keeping the upper piping (the ones that run through the bay) shiny, i just want the effect that you can't tell its turboed from the outside. keep checking back for more updates

Before you go any further you should tell us the paint is special for radiators or something and won't ruin the heat exchange as much as normal paints.

Super stealth urethane look man. Makes the piping look oem!

yeah good point. i forgot to mention it in here, but before anyone worries about the paint i did my home work and went with a specific paint that even helps dissipate heat evenly.

nah i like the look i have and i dont want everything in the bay to be black

it'll be hidden from the outside but in the bay the polished pipes look nice. glad you like the progress i did more but didnt take pics, there'll be a bigger update tomorrow.

240 gen is always like that so i'm not surprised

thats the thing about wiring, you can't tell progress from the shots. the interior should be mostly in tomorrow at lest the back half

exhaust pics for you will be taken in less then an hour so i'll have em up tonight. i don't NEED to hide the ic to avoid getting noticed, but i WANT to. i ran it how it was on my last fc and cops don't care at all since mods like that arent legal out here. i just like the idea of my car looking stock on the outside. the only mods you'll see from outside the car are the taillights and the exhaust and most ppl will look at that muffler and just think i'm some noob ricer

thanks man. its funny to think that 8 years ago i knew absolutely nothing about any of this. i feel that i'm pretty decent in all areas of working on a car by now. its still nice to have MGE's wiring help. especially since i can't remember what wires were cut 4 months ago
DriftBoy07 wrote:I wonder how quickly youll be tired of the stock look and get some sexy 17s and drop her to the floor.
well wheels have always planned down the road and more of a drop as well, nothing crazy though. and i don't pl,an on stock body for long either. i do have the type x aero that'll go oone once i get a front lip and real paint

not much done on the car today since i slept in til like 2pm then had to take my wife to an eye doctor appointment. plus is doesnt help when some of the local guys come over, its always a distraction.but here some pics of what i did do.

light up ignition ring wired cleanly into the main bulk of wires

hoist is set up and ready to support the motor while i remove the driver side motor mount and torque down the turbo manifold

and heres some muffler shots for spooled, let me know if you need any other angles.

thats all for now but there will be a lot going on this coming week
