i had the muffler shop weld a stainless pipe to a mild steel flange and i've had no problems with it daily driving for 3 years. The welds look clean and strong. I think they tig welded it but I've welded mild steel to SS with our mig many times with great results.

It's up to you tho, I'd just be dying to get that car on the road lol

i know that its possible but its not the best way to go about it and i don't want this flange to be the only mild steel piece thats rusting

i have a little bit of an update but i didn't get as much done as i wanted. i spent a good chunk of time running errands and getting stuff and also helping out my brother a little bit. i finally got my fuel gauge mounted the way i wanted. i messed around with getting the gauge face perfect cuz i'm really particular.

besides that i also got my turbo back with the flange.

there will be more tomorrow and maybe even a little more tonight later. but i have to spend a little time sitting around waiting for my new clutch to show up. it needs a signature so i have to hang around for that

well that was a large part of what was holding me back. the clutch comes in tomorrow and i can take the car to the exhaust shop asap and tie up other loose ends. but without the flange my hands were tied

oh dont' worry i'll beat the s12 senseless. little update i went to work on the car a little but got frustrated since i need stubby wrenches (which i don't have) and i didn't have the right size hose for the overflow. i took a little time then to do something not stressful on the s13. i wired my sidemarkers to blink just like i did with my brothers car

and i have the overflow mounted up as well

i'll do more work tomorrow but i'll be waiting for my clutch which according to fedex will be there between 8am and 7pm

lol how nice of fed ex to be specific.I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason (good reason). AKA, your job loss will help you finally finish this thing so you can fill out job applications at new places with confidence when they ask if you have reliable transportation lol. Lol sry i'm just being a lawllller, but yeah, with the s13 version 1 complete, you can take it easier.

yeah theres no sense dwelling so i just have to deal and move on. i applied for unemployment but started looking for jobs in the meantime. if i can though i'd like to do what you said and get the car done first, one less thing to worry about. i ran into someone form og last night and she said 4 more people got fired for another incident. so they fired 6 people in a week.

i'm sitting here waiting for the clutch right now

excellent question but once again you've pushed me to the next page, thanks alot, jerk. well the exedy stage 1 would have been perfect for my stock turbo which is what i still had when i put the clutch in. then after the clutch was in and the trans was bolted up and everything dropped into the car i upgraded the turbo. i was just gonna let it go and roast the exedy since i didnt feel like taking it apart to get to it and i knew the exedy couldnt hold up for the new turbo. but when i pulled the trans to mess with the rms again i figured i'd put a clutch in that can handle the power since i have everything off

oh i see, yeah it would be a good time to change that clutch...nothing worse than a weak clutch.

were flipping pages about every 4 days and you have about 9 pages before pg 50 which is roughly 36 days? give or take a few...so you better be done within a month or so or we'll have 50 pages and a non-running type X lol
