Sorry to quote a picture and push your thread closer to 40, just increasing the pressure to see finished product. Your car is very nice, i hope mine turns out so well. You should get it painted though, such a nice car deserves a nice paintjob. Such a clean engine bay
ahh glad you liked the pic, i'm not crazy into photography but i'm working on taking better shots. glad you're liking the car, i'm not too concerned about the 40 page deadline, i have a lot going on with it and i'm working on wrapping it up soon even though my 2nd job keeps me out til 4-5am.and you don't need to worry about real paint, all the supplies for daytona blue are sitting in my garage.

did you use usdm brackets for the center of the type x bumper?
yep and they worked no problem. are you having some trouble with yours?
well its long over due but here are some pics and a brief update about what i've been up tosince my last update, i've spent a little bit of time redoing the coolant lines under the intake manifold. i wasn't planning on doing this or else i would have done it when the engine was out, but its too much of a pain to install the turbo lines with the factory maze of coolant lines. i got a barbed nipple and threaded it into the unused port on the s14 water neck and used it for the coolant line to the turbo. you can see it mocked up on the turbo in this pic
then i started in on the junk under the im, i wanted to simplify it especially since i was no longer getting coolant to the turbo from the line that passes behind the engine. i wish i had a before pic to show the difference but you sr owners are probably familiar with what i'm talking about. i also didnt like how it went soft line, hardline, soft line, hardline, etc. so with a little guidance from didderson i set out to improve on nissan's design. this is the only section of hard line i kept, i just cut it and used it as a fitting. i'd say all in all i spent under $25 for the supplies to redo everything. the smartest thing imo was finding preformed 90 degree lines to help avoid kinking, and now i have the piece of find of having every rubber hose replaced. i also deleted the coolant lines to the iacv on didderson's advice. heres the finished product before the im goes back on.
while the im was off i decided to clean it and paint it, why not, i painted everything else. i scrubbed it and cleaned it in the parts washer and the only thing i didnt paint was the tb, ran out of time and i'm not sweating it.
and i just realized i forgot to update with pics once my cobra came in. so heres a couple shots of it, josh and dale were there to check it out on the day it arrived. this also came in. nothing special, but its orange
also had josh pick up a new pass side dash vent to replace the cracked in half one, so i drilled and glued in the alarm light.
when josh and dale were over to help i didnt take time to snap and pics but we got some decent work done before calling it quits for the day. i got the vss installed and wired up and unwrapped everything to run a fan light then rewrapped it and you can't even tell i took it apart. the stock rucas (thanks tom) were painted and installed and i picked up new hardware for the im and rear struts.
then shortly after i got the car over the pit to start mocking up and welding the cobra and cat.
prior to this i got the ds and catback installed but i dont like the way the oem styel rubber hangers work so i ordered poly urethane ones. but we mocked up and cat and the cobra and determined that its too tight for us to try and weld sections in up to the turbo using the welder and mandrel bent pieces we have so as soon as the outlet flange gets in (2nd aired it from treadstone but its still not here cuz of the holiday, happy 4th btw ) we're trailering it to a small performance exhaust shop in strasburg (like a 5 minute drive) for him to finish the cobra using a bender. my normal exhaust shop is scheduling out to the 17th and theyre like 35 minutes away so i'll go with this guy since he said he can do it as soon as im ready. but heres roughly where it'll sit and you can see where it needs completed to
with th car over the pit for now i'm gonna torque down and finish everything underneath the car. i do believe my rms might be leaking slightly so i'll have to look into that more. but for now i got a little work done yesterday since i had a few parts come in but i spent the day off mostly with the wife and i got nothing done i slept in and i now go to work in an hour. but with the 90 degree bent couplers and a $5 piece of scrap from red run i made my hot pipe. this shot is just with it mocked up and not clamped down
and with the parts that came in for me from american speed i mocked up the intake coming off the turbo, ignore the blue coupler, my black one isnt in yet
then my dad and i took a sawzall to my hod to clear the bov. the paint matches better then this pic shows, but the flash makes it stand out and the paint was still wet
i do have one other cool little treat, but out of respect for the man i stole the idea from i won't reveal them yet. i have off monday and tuesday though so i plan on getting more done so check back then.
ps- if anyone knows how to reinstalled the outer a pillar piece and weather stripping around there i'd appreciate it, i can't figure it out at all. thanks
