thanks for the compliments guys. the head flange is 9/16" and the studs on the head are extended so the flange will fit with plenty of threads left.

yeah i highly recommend hose techniques. the customer service is great, the quality is there and the free shipping options takes less then a week to get here. and it came with free candy!!!!!

well i had a good bit going on today, i got a lot done, but was hoping to get the front end on, unfortunately that didnt happen. I started the day by tackling a task that was troubling me for months. when i first got the car i had taped off the front windshield and area surrounding the roof since i planned on painting it black. for some reason i never got around to it but the tape remained on there through all types of weather til it was practically part of the car. i had tried the other day with some goo gone but it was powerless. my wife was helping me today and was working on the stuck tape with goo gone but when i went out for some paint i picked up aircraft stripper. that stuff got the job done, burned my hand through latex gloves even. it got all the tape off and even some paint which was ok, since i'm painting the roof and a pillars black. it does not damage glass at all and after the aircraft stripper and some elbow grease, i cleaned all the exterior glass with windex and it looked better then before. the stripper took the black vinyl off the a pillar so it looks kinda funny with body colored a pillars, but i'm painting it all black tomorrow. i didnt snap any pics but i'll take some of how it looks tomorrow.

the a pillar trim that sits slightly under the molding was pretty scratched up so i took it off, sanded it, primed it and hit it with 2 coats of gloss black. i'm putting a last coat on tomorrow and snapping pics of the finished product.

i also put the fittings into the oil filter relocation plate

just a few random pics here, but bare with me. these were living in my black car on the dash frame. they started as 4 eggs a few weeks ago and emerged as featherless freaks, but now they're starting to look like real birds lol

my dad used a pair of gloves to move them and the mother bird is still going to them so all's good.

i also scuffed up the plastic headlight covers and resprayed them with black plastic paint. i sprayed the metal trim alum colored as well.

i pushed the car inside just in time to get out of a freakin hail storm. i rained worse then i've seen in a long time. i snapped a few pics after i pushed it in.

after some measuring, drilling, fitting and other required work i had my oil filter relocation complete.as you can see in the pic i also split a small hose and used around the ic piping hole. heres the same thing on the other side.

i finished mounting the ps res and ran the lines, but to complete it i'm trying to find the fitting that comes off of the ps pump. the jdm one has the fitting come out at a 45* angle while the usdm one is at a 90. the usdm 90* woudl be ideal for how the lines run since i'm relocating. thsi is what i'm looking for and if anyone has one, let me know.

i finished looming the fender wiring and got it mounted up for the most part

tomorrow the front end is going on and i'll be installing the s14 vss. i basically going to be finish up lots of other loose ends as well and getting ready to fab the manifold on monday.

Filter relocation came out looking great man. Grimace is in the house!

I don't think we got hail down my way. That would have sucked hard.

I like the undercarriage shot, shocks look good w the paint color

.

You know i'm almost thinking you have a shot at finishing b4 june 7th.

Oh and you know I'm jealous of that Keegan looming and wire job. Where's the 4gage power wire, in there? That is quite the small loom... GG.

yeah it hailed like a beast, the hail pieces were larger then a quarter. yeah i like the undercarriage shot to, it shows my mad camber . yeah i might be able to pull it off and finish in time but i'm waiting to get my flange back on monday. i'm not sure exactly what 4 ga wire in the loom you're talking about, im guessing you're referring to the split loomed fender wiring. i ran everything that didn't have to be in the engien along that dash, so if we're thinking of the same 4 ga wire thats where it is.

i will update this evening or tomorrow. i was just over at the car but realized i left my cell phone at home. should be a productive day. josh is coming over in the morning to lend a hand and keegan is helping me with my alarm tonight. i'm also planing on getting the manifold welded together soon. i just paid for a 38mm tial wg, open dump pipe for it, and a $250 order to columbia river mandrel bending that i'm having overnighted here. i''m also ordering an fpr and the lower half of a pbm cobra. that'll pretty much drain my funds for now and then i'll order pbm gen 3 rucas and my gauges.

its about time i finally update, no mater how lame it is. since the last update i've wasted a good chunk of time painting my roof black. i started by sanding it and giving it a few coats of black after primering it. but i ended up not being happy with it at all. the aircraft stripper bubbled the stock paint a little and gave it a finish i wasnt pleased with. hard to tell from the dark pic thoughafter the first attempt i stripped everything down to bare metal and used a self etching primer but it was too windy painting it outside and the paint mist was actually drying before it hit the car so i was practically painting over a layer of dust.

heres the aircraft stripper in action

the primer i used, works well

one of the finishes finish i wasn't happy with

after that i sanded again and resprayed but it was too humid and the paint took forever to dry then it dried a light grey because of the humidity. it rained all day today but next chance i can, i'm repainting it with more gloss black then buffing it after seeing how well it buffs out based on doug's roof .

my 3.5" t bolt clamps that were back ordered came in and another piece of candy came with it.

heres the alarm in the process of being prewired right now.

josh came over and helped on the day when i was wasting lots of time with the roof painting and i snapped a pic after we pushed my car inside.

and here's a shot i took of josh's car

we did a little cutting for manifold and because we didnt communicate well, my brother cut the wrong piece that i had already cut. honest mistake and he ordered a new ss T fitting 2nd day air that'll be in tomorrow.

today rained the whole day but we managed to get a little welding and whatnot in.

my brother welded the t3 inlet flange to the radius plate.came out pretty nice.

close up of the welds

tial 38mm flange welded to a short piece of 1.5" stainless steel.

welds came out crappy on this one since it was difficult to attach the ground to such a small piece

heres some of my order from columbia river that i had overnighted.

my new power doors, props to didderson

took the wire wheel to the manifold piping and its looking better already.REALLY blurry pics but you can get the idea

didderson's stock rucas i'll run til i order pbms (thanks gain tom)

my fake cat with the flanges welded on

and a random pic of my ss o2 bungs i picked up

more parts coming in tomorrow and more updates after work.

Nice update. Idk whats up with your paint man. Maybe you're spraying from too far away.

Kyle's doing an awesome job on those welds for a first time stainless steel job. Wow.

Dude what happened to your camera?

thanks guys, yeah i'm really pleased with the welds and looking forward to getting the manifold tacked up today.

the paint left a rough finish because it was so windy the mist dried and thats what i was spraying over. it lost the color because it was so humid it didn't dry evenly.

Finished product soon? Looks good so far. I hate working on the floor, A boss of mine told me a long time ago, to not be dumb and get your work up on horses or on a table or in a vice, lol.

yeah the only problem is the bench is full of parts either for my car or for the 56 apache truck. the floor welding is going well though. i just got off work and i'm about to head over, but my brother called and said he has the entire manifold welded together but not completed. he fully welded all the pipes together and tacked them to the head flange, and before i come over he's tacking the turbo inlet and wg flange in the locations we talked about yesterday. then, i'll mock them on the car and as long as there are no clearance issues, we'll grind the tack welds off for the 2 flanges, cut the holes, then weld them on permanently. so it shoudl be done tonight most likely. and i gave pbm the green light to start making my exhaust cobra just the other day.

heres a fun little update. spent almost all the time working on the manifold and it's currently semi finished. the entire thing was tacked together and mocked up on the car. We realized that with the inlet flange sitting perfectly flat, the turbo would have some clearance issues, so we ground all the tacks off and moved the flange to a slight angle so that everything will clear. it took a good bit to cut out the hole for the inlet flange but after going through lots of cutting wheels i managed to finish it then used some grinding stones to smooth the cuts. a few hole saw bits and a little teamwork finally put a hole for the wg in the piping.

heres the radius plate with t3 flange after a little grinding to clear the runners.

the piping for the runners was completely welded together when we tacked it up and then we mocked up for the holes to be cut

heres the grinding stones i used

after all the holes were ground nicely the entire thing was welded together. when my brother was welding the wg flange to its short extension, he got his face pretty burned from the tack welds since we have an old school welding mask, so to make it easier and since i appreciate his help i picked up a nice hobart auto darkening mask.

i burned through a few hole saw bits without making any progress, but at least i got my money back

i was slowly working on grinding the welds on the runners before all the flanges were welded one and sanding down all the casting marks, after a good bit of work, i decided to take the manifold to be sand blasted on monday so we finished welding everything and the nice thing is the sandblasting will also knock of all the scale hanging on it. after sandblasting, i'll start wet sanding then polishing. but heres a rough version of how its gonna be, just needs cleaned up a polished.

and i received this in the mail the other day.as you can see its the real deal, of course.

i think you see what i have in mind here

after all the welding and metal work i had enough daylight left to respray the roof and a pillars. it was the perfect evening for it and the krylon gloss black sprayed very nicely. it was dark when i finished so i'll get a good look at it tomorrow, but it went on very evenly.this is the best pic i could get by the light of the skid loader.

and as a bonus my dad had his car out in preparation to drive it tomorrow
