yeah i know. but i emailed every flange website i know of and not a single one is responding to my emails.at first i thought it might be a subbie flange, then after a closer look i noticed its not the right pattern. then i thought it might be a t3 5 bolt outlet, its the correct pattern but the t3 is dimensionally smaller. a few different places told me its the chrysler 5 bolt but its still not correct. one place after that said it might be a mercedes pattern flange, but i doubt it and i'm not into wasting anymore time. i dropped the turbo off just on friday at the machine shop and they'll call me when the flange is done.

ps- thanks for pushing me to page 40 now i'm gonna get castrated and have my car destroyed by all the local guys since it isnt done yet

yeah i thought about that but since the studs are in on the outlet side the flange can't lay flat to trace. and i'm not sure i would trust my tracing anyways. so i took the whole turbo to them.

i know, i'm expecting my car to be destroyed at any time. i think i should have until the end of the page those, cuz that will still be page 40

^ that is untrue right now it gets an infinite amount of miles to the gallon, cuz pushing it uses no gas.

long over due update. a lot has happened but it's not all progress you can see, but i have pics nonetheless.

painting the bay for the last time

some more little brackets and such i removed

testing the lights and other electrical

my dad's cars hibernating

another little thing i worked on was installing dei brand litnboltz. basically they're license plate bolts that light up with leds. kinda a pain if you have an s13 but it'd be a breeze if you have an s14. after consulting another s13 owner how already installed his he said the bumper has to be removed. i refused to remove my bumper so i managed making it work by cutting the wires originally going to the license plate lights. i extended em and fished em through the license plate. at that point i realized that since the original hardware goes into the metal bumper itself, you need to have some way to put a nut on the back of it. so i took the paint around the holes down to bare metal and tack welded on nuts with the proper thread and pitch. everything wired up easily and threaded in nicely after that and i now have my license plate secured and lit up.

next up i picked up some new poly exhaust hangers.

here they are compared to stock ones

and finally all mounted up. they make a world of difference, i'm glad i picked em up

and heres just a shot of the muffler from the side

after painting everything i reassembled everything and permanently secured all the piping....until i found out i'd have to pull the turbo

new black coupler for the intake pipe

random shots of clearance with everything tightened

new lower rad bushing things

shortened the wiring for the mafs so that i wouldnt have so much excess

picked up new fuel lines and now the fpr is hooked up and fuel pressure gauge is as well. not finished yet but almost

thats all for now but more will be coming soon and most likely an introductory thread will be made for my brother's s13

^I just cleaned mine up really good with some diluted degreaser and an old tooth brush and it looks like a fresh anodized rail again =]

lookin good WC, how much stiffer are the poly exhaust hangers? Mine are 12 years old and feel like gummy bears...my exhaust could be raised another inch or two as well

ehh i've painted enough stuff and i plan on upgrading the rail soon so i'm not gonna wast time on my stock one

the poly ones are much stiffer. i picked up new oem style rubber hangers and after a few days of them being on the car and the car not even moving the stretched out and sagged badly. these poly ones arent going anywhere.

edit- i forgot to mention the machine shop left me a message and they want $246 for the turbo outlet flange. they're about to receive an angry phone call

damn 246 is ri-fuukin-diculous...i was thinking more along the lines of 50 bucks cuz what is a flange? a piece of metal with some holes drilled in it?

I think i'd try and make my own. Put some paint on the exhaust studs mock a plate of steel on the studs then drill out the paint marks. Then just go to a machine shop and have them bore out the turbine outlet hole.

Then if you really had a lot of time on your hands...put the plate on the exhaust housing, outline the contour of the housing on the flange with a pencil and trim off the excess metal with a cut-off wheel then clean it up with a rotary file. With enough patience I think you can make a pretty legit flange yourself
