Lol Dante! It's Tom mayne! Yeah u did kinda throw off jeffs thread with those, but it's good to see you have a decent 240 now. You know, one with a carpet and a floor pan that looks "unmodified." lol.

Cool update man, I was actually pleasantly surprised with the paint outcome. If it stands up to the test of time I will be shocked. My reasoning for no paint is because I like aluminum as a metal too much, and i could argue the radiating heat loss is not as much with the paint on, but that's the radiator's job and it's probably negligible. Sry if it seems I'm pickin on ya. I definitely wanted to do my pulleys at one point in time but aftermarket pulleys can fix that :D.

Lol @ keegan's comment about Dante.

lol its all good, and i understand your concern. think of this though, the same paint (different color though) was used on the block on my brothers 350. all 8 of those cylinders generate a god bit of heat and the paint is holding up perfectly. i'm confident mine will be ok. yeah teh pulleys came out nice, kyle did all of them.

not quite there yet, but soon ready to have the engine go in. the wiring was all nicely harnessed thanks to keegan though and a lot of other work was done. i'm uploading pics now

what jb weld? are you talking about 2 years ago just to pass inspection? what was so stupid about it? i agree that it isnt a desirable way to hold that together, but when you need to pass inspection quickly because the car is your daily, whats the harm? so the jb gives and the plate falls off, i'm just back to before i put the plate on so it's not like i'm any worse off.

you have a zenki s14 front on an s13 hatch and you're going to tell me what is stupid

ehh thats didn't feel bad, but they were kinda high and i just wanted stock. i bought them without seeing them so what are you gonna do. i sold em for what i paid for em

heres the little update after a late night working on it. keegan did a lot more wiring which can bee seen in the wire tuck thread here

as for everything else....

monday me and my brother decided it'd be a good a day as any to swap the transmission stuff around. as some of you may know, the sr transmission would grind in 2nd and 5th so i bought a cheap ka trans (thanks didderson) and figured i would just swap the bellhosings. for the most part its very straight forward, but getting the new bell housing on was tedious because the clutch forks kept getting hung up, but after a few attempts we got it. excuse the dirtiness, it still needs pressure washed a paintedi don't have pics of it but the spl hardened clutch pivot ball is installed. the clutch fork and to bearing carrier and soaking in the parts washer.

whiel i was working on everything else, my brother cut the bumper support to clear the intercooler, the horns also had to be tweaked as well.

heres the mounting brackets he made

i also got the vc back from sand blasting and its looking pretty good, especially for free. i sanded it up a bit and started spraying on the gloss blacki don't have the pics, but i let it dry over night with 3 coats of clear.

i also painted the dome lightand the battery looks nice with the clear though

thats about it for now, i'm still waiting for a few things to come in and i'll be ordering my oil filter relocation kit tomorrow and my gauges a few days after.

oh and josh, heres what i need patchedthe other side is almost the same just moved back a little. if you need any other section though you're in luck

the rear seatbelt mount is fine last i checked and i don't need it. yeah the vc came out nicely and i was talked into leaving it like that instead of sanding the letters to bare metal. check out the wiring thread though, it came out nicely

turbo lines are here!!looks like they have spike's seal of approval.

a new rear main seal cover is on the way too. my brother broke the one on there. it's all good though a new one is on the way, assuming a sentra se-r one works (i'm guessing it does since the rear main seal itself is from a sentra se-r).

i also just got off the hone with the place i'm getting my oil filter relocation kit through. it'll be there tomorrow, but since its near my school i won't be up there again til tuesday, so i'll get it then. no work on the car today, just school stuff, but i'll make some progress tomorrow

Hey man good work so far. I have a tough week coming up because of tests but on Wed-friday i'll have free afternoons and I'd like to re-route your jdm cooling lines. I'll take a look at mine b4 I head over.

Also, I wanted to suggest the image posted below. Trust me even if you're going with greddy someday you can use it with that also. You will thank me in the summertime when your manifold is as cool as the air around you because this thing really stops heat soak!I remember feeling my manifold in the winter after a hard drive and it was ice colddddd hehe . 30 bats man give 'er a shot!L8

U can get em at frsport and probably ebay for less. As long as it's circuitsports it doesn't matta' where u get it.

thanks man, yeah whenever you're available i'll see what your ideas are on the coolant lines .

i plan on getting that thermal gasket, but not until i do the intake manifold. me and kyle were talking and we agree thats the only ugly spot on the engine. if i had the cash i'd get a polished knock off mani that would look great. oh well, its not a priority now.

i'm uploading a few pics for a minor update now

well i had school stuff and homework today, so i did nothing on the car, but luckily i have a cool little brother who worked on it a bunch today. i got a call from my brother before picking up my wife from worked and he informed me that he needed some sheet metal to make the lower brackets for the fmic. $10 later i swung by with the metal before my german class. i was surprised to find that the new rear main seal cover came in already. very impressive considering it was purchased on ebay less then 48 hours ago. heres a quick shot of the rear main seal off the enginei don't have pics of it, but while i was in class, kyle replaced the rear main seal and bolted on the cover with new gasket, he was also able to finish up the ic brackets and now its completely mountedhe also bolted the vc on^ i gotta say, i'm starting to love how everything looks, especially with it starting to come together.

kyle also got down the flywheel and clutch and started to get everything on, but he didn't know the torque specs. i called him with them and he'll finish it tomorrow i hope to get over there for a few hours tomorrow before and pressure wash and paint the transmission. if i have time the turbo and lines will get put on as well, but for now this whole mini update was done by kyle.

I know you already know, but just a freindly reminder, dont forget to wipe that clutch down with denatured alcohol or thinner, or whatever you prefer to get any oils off of it.

i was planning on it, but thanks for the heads up anyways

i forgot to mention my alum steering bushing and hks ssqv flange will be in tomorrow from frsport. i also ordered a trans dapt oil filter relocation kit from a local speed shop and it'll be in tomorrow as well, but i won't go get it til tuesday. its right near my school but i don't have to go back up there until tuesday so i'll pick it up then
