heres the update! i do want to point out that much of the current work has been wiring, BUT i felt that wiring info would be more helpful to other as a separate thread. so after i update in here, i'll be starting a new thread just for the wire tuck to be used by other for reference.

picking up where we left off, heres my remedy for turbo manifold studs. after much thought though, i'll be adding split washers on both sides just to be safe.

i put locktite on the threads that are threaded into the manifold as well as on the nuts.

heres everything mocked up

hmmm think this'll be a problem?

how its sitting now

heres the engine bay being repainted. hurray for my brother helping out

when keegan was over busting his *** doing wiring (thanks again ) my brother and i started stripping a bunch of stuff off of the engine. the engine was cleaned up a little more, and all the brackets and crap on it were prepped to be painted then sprayed black, while the engine and hardware is getting aluminum paint.

all the brackets being painted

i came over the next day and my brother had painted a bunch more for me, i took off the valve cover and sprayed it with another coat

i'm redoing the vc, since i was never happy with it the first time around. as you can see its just primered now. i ran out of time and had to go to work.

there wont be much to update the next few days since i'm working a lot but i'll link the wiring thread once i get it done

It looks like you threaded the studs unevenly, mine are much shorter and dont go all the way through on the manifold side-could that be a problem?

yeah there uneven but that won't matter at all, there reason though, is because you don't have the same clearance with all 4 studs.

you should be fine as long as everything is tight

upload pics to photobucket then click the link under the picture that says img tag and paste it in here. i'm curious to see what all you're doing to your current 240 and i'm glad to hear your not killing 240s anymore, but then again, the more you take out, the more rare mine becomes

yea for those out there wondering the reason why they call me the 240 killa is because 5 out of 6 that i have owned i either totaled or blew they motor but since i have calmed down a lot i think there will only be one more 240 because i want to start with a fresh shell but i will finish the build when i get back from this bis a$$ sand box (Iraq) in about 6-7 months

car looks pretty good, but i don't like how the fmic is mounted i'll have to see this beast in person when you're around

i didn't bother to snap any pics yet, but yesterday me and my brother went through the process of swapping my sr bellhousing onto a ka trans. the swap was insanely simple, except getting the bell housing back on. it seemed o like getting hung p on the clutch forks. but everything i back together now and the engine is almost completely assembled. i was happy with the vc because it has so many layers of paint from the previous owner, so i i wanted to do it better, but i didnt want to spend a lot of time since i plan to replace this vc in the nearish future. so luckily my dad knows a guy with sandblasting equipment and in the past when my dad needed something sandblasted, the guy woudl just let me use the equipment. so while i'm waiting for some parts to come in, my dad will sand blast all teh paint off in the next day or so, and i'll lay down some nice gloss black to keep me happy for the time being. i'll get the pics today and post them this evening
