Finally an update with pics!
So because im away at college, I don’t get to see/work/drive the car near as much as I need or want to, but college is important too so I have to deal with it.
I did get to go home for three weeks for Christmas break tho, and me and dad got a lot done to the car in a very short time. We only had about a week to work on it, because as always, things took longer than expected and we didn’t get the car back from to cage builder when we were supposed to. That’s alright tho, when I spoke to the cage builder on the phone I told him id rather have it be correct and take longer than half a** and have it right now. My thoughts were, if I ever get in another accident, id like to have the best s*** surrounding me as possible.
So the day after Christmas, my dad, me, and one other dude loaded up the trailer and headed down to Position One racecraft in Port Orchard, WA to pick up my car. I was so stoked because I hadn’t seen the car since October 4th. When we got there, this is what we found:
These pics are actually from the next day when we were painting, because it was too dark the night before to get any respectable pictures.
The cage turned out amazing, Justin is a top notch fabricator. He said this is the first s13 cage he has done where the rear x-bar is kept down low instead of up high, he told me most people want it up so you can see it from the outside of the car, but in reality its more structural down low. With the cage all painted, we got to work on some of the other parts I had been collecting since thanksgiving. We installed my pbm hydro handbrake, which is sick btw. I don’t have any pics of it installed unfortunately.
My dad surprised me with a new helmet for Christmas because if you recall, I had a little incident where I cracked my old one. Let’s hope I can keep this one pretty.
I also picked up a Origin aggressive kit, so we finally got to fit that and start painting everything to match. While we were in the painting mood I decided white wheels would look good against the black, so we went for it!
That’s about all I have for now, im back at school so my dads putting the finishing touches on it and then we just play the waiting game till next season rolls around. I have dmax 30mm widebody fenders that are being installed as I type this, and the rear bumper is going to be installed as well. Ill try to get some pics of the finished product as soon as I can. –Tyler
