I dropped my 3.5L 6mt coupe off with Kenny and his staff at turbochargers.com in Houston today. The Turbo Development on my car will start this Thursday and pics of their progress will be updated on there site as the development progress comes together. Just go to turbochargers.com and click on gallery and look for the dark slate a/c. I was told this kit is being developed for consumer purchase so anyone interested in the kit should get ready, because it's going to be nothing short of top notch. I was lucky enough to get a tour of their facility which was asking alot being their shop was full of cars and customers were coming in and out constantly. If everything goes as planned the development and installation of this turbo kit will be complete in no later than 3 weeks from this thursday and I'll post more pics as soon as i pick the car up and get it back to Dallas.

well....i was lucky enough to be in the right spot at the right time and foxmarketing and turbochargers.com are sponsoring this one for the purpose of development and Brian at Foxmarketing needs one in his personal A/C (that is far from TX) for a upcoming auto show in New York.

the turbo on that coupe was also developed at turbochargers.com, but was a one of a kind built for nissan usa and will not be the marketed kit. I was also told that they dropped that car 2inches with 20 inch wheels and didn't have a problem with rubbing thru 100miles. i need to find out who did the custom suspension because that will be my next mod.

Its not against any rules to mention a want for a group buy. Its against the rules to setup a group buy through the NICO forums without consulting an admin. Cmon now, no need to be pushy.

so sorry blake, not trying to be pushy. just trying to keep this thread open for viewing so people will have a heads up that the turbocharger will be availible for their coupes in a short amount of time.

Hopefully they'll be asking for a CVT coupe shortly after... If so I'm willing to leave my car with them for 3 weeks. GL on the kits though man. It should be a BEAST!

Ah Cool guess that means that us CVT owners will have an opportunity to be boosted also. Guess I dont have to give my dad my car and go buy a G37. hehehe.

You know if you piece it together your self its like only $3000. But damn the 3.5! it reaches 500hp easily with a turbo kit. How many runs can a stock 3.5 take the abuse? I seen stock tsx motors on 30psi on dyno runs reaching 600hp but 3rd run cracks the block.

if you were to piece the kit together yourself all i have to say is good luck bending pipes and welding in the super tight 3.5 compartment. it's not something you would want to attempt at home as the people designing this kit are well known as the best in the business and are trusted by Ford Motors, Nissan USA, they do turbo rebuilds for the u.s. gov. (just to name a few) and, if you pieced everything together good luck getting this exact setup. the turbo alone is half that. then throw in the intercooler and bam. you're already at about 3000 so...

In my case, with help from a local turbo shop that has big experience and hook up on parts. It's not as hard as some may say. Once you see the kit on the market and you have the correct tools. You will see its not as hard, just finding the right tuner is the problem as well ECU managment.

everything you mentioned as problematic turbochargers.com has covered and the results of this kit will speak for itself.

If I had the cvt, I wouldn't buy it. Adding on more than 100 horses is A HUGE RISK for ANY stock transmission, and we still don't know how much power the cvt can take. At most id risk adding 50-60 horses, but to shell out 5000 beans for 50 horses is not justification. IMO

i'd rather someone came up with a plenum spacer, a nice underdrive pulley, and an affordable ECU managing software.

will the stock clutch be able to hold that much power. i dont believe it will, and do they have any solutions for that?

also, what will they be using for fuel management or engine management. with the other kit they made on that AC for the auto show they said they were supposed to use a GReddy eManage ultimate, but i dont think they did.

get back to me/us regarding those two issues. thanks!

that all sounds good and i plan on doing that in the future and then from there decide if i want to go the turbo route.... as for CVT not being able to handle the power, this is a myth started up by.... well i don't know who started it up but its not true lol there are Nissan Murano SUVs with CVT and Turbo and those had the older CVT transmission which ive heard that the older CVT isn't as strong and or reliable as the new ones in our coupe. so CVT will take turbo, how much boost would it take is another story. if you go 100 HP, don't have to worry much, if you try to get it to like 600 or 800 hp then i don't know... tamer was saying theres an F1 car or something with 800 HP CVT though so i don't know

Jim Wolf Technology is making a clutch and flywheel set up for the Altima Coupe. I just got off the phone with them yesterday about it, Competition Clutch was going to but guilded me to them. Jim Wolf makes so awesome products for Nissan so I'm sure this clutch is going to hold whatever type of power you throw at it. If anyone is interested in a clutch for the new Altima Coupe, holla at them because then they will make it faster if they see some demand right?

MAN i am getting SICK and tired of this statement.

you can install turbo on a single cylinder lawnmower if you want to!Hell they even make little mini rubber band driven superchargers for nitro powered R/C cars! With enough money/skill you can make anything work.

I don't care WHAT show cars have the NISSAN CVT and a TURBO. i want to see DAILY DRIVERS with this stuff installed. YOU HAVE no facts, NO PROOF that the XTRONIC CVT will hold up to high horsepower for an extended period of time.

If a company offers you a turbo then please do it, i WANT you to prove me wrong! but don't start talking out your @$$ without real facts.
