quoted from kennytuned on the last page.

"The kit will use a proprietary 60 series turbo capable of over 500whp. The turbo will come with standard bearings but a ball bearing and GTK option will be available as upgrades"

Nice, so how long has it been since you parted ways with your baby? When do you think it will be returned?

not a chance its carb legal. If you want to stay within cali carb standards. dont get forced induction...period. Sorry not trying to be an ***, thats just the way it is with most after market forced induction. More air, more fuel, more pollution.

I know on my last car "Pontiac GTO" both the sts turbos kits and the Maggie "superchargers" came with CARB certification plates...The manufacturer has to jump threw the hoops and get the testing done...But more air or power doesn't mean no CARB cert!! The kits HAVE to include a tune that passes a certain emmission level too..

You are correct sir, some STS, Turbonetics, Greddy kits are totally 50 state legal. We'll let you guys know if it's CARB legal when it's done.

There's quite a bit of misleading information in this thread.......

hey folks, please forgive my ignorance regarding turbos, superchargers, and forced induction in general...

Blake, don't some vehicles come turbo charged from the factory? And some others come supercharged from the factory? If they are selling them in Cali, wouldn't they have to be carb compliant?

IDK, it just seems that with the proper tuning, it can be done in theaftermarket in a way that is 50 state legal like the ones from the factory...

Not the best example because "factory" forced induction the engine was designed with them in mind..Like saying the car came with a cam(s) and I only changed them why did I fail emmisions?lol Its really all about the tune, if you modify your car it still must meet the factory specs on the tailpipe end Superchargers and turbos CAN be more efficent with the correct tune..But the aftermarket companys will have to include a tune and go threw the red tape to get that certification.."Tuner" kits with no tune needing a dyno type tune (not canned) will not have a CARB certificate number but are usually the better option for speed freaks lucky enough not to live in Cali.

ok kool...now with that being said, can you lead us towards some info on what will be used for engine management, and if it will wire right up to the altima ecu, or will you be providing your own harness for it. eManage Ultimate??

oh and btw i know the person who created the fuel maps for the G35/350Z HYDRA EMS, he owns the rights to it, and he is located in NY!!

this makes sense, regarding factory forced induction vs aftermarket...

JOSH or KYLE, with this statement in mind, how much closer are you guys to creating a supercharger for the A/C CVT? And if so, with Stillen being a California company, do you have plans to make the turbo/supercharger Cali Carb friendly!

08COUPE, what type of "custom GPS" do you have in your car?, oh yeah and regarding this...

... there's nothing lucky about not living in Cali. Turbofreaks included, if you haven't lived in SOCAL... you haven't really lived...LOL

One Crazy Max,

We are in talks with Hydra about a standalone EMS for the Altima which would require this use of a custom harness(inlcuded with the kit). That's not absolutely final yet but we will be making a decision very soon.

Ahh nice. Does the EMS allow for all the other features to operate properly? Ex: push start, temperature gauge, that sorta thing, and what kinda waste gate is that?

its looking really good. and thanks for answering my question on the engine management. btw, will you be making new headers/exhaust manifolds off the block or are you going to be using the stock headers?

Ok maybe this isnt going to make sense... but with a turbo.. theres a wastegate/blow off valve right?... and when i hear one it sounds like.. vrrrrrm-schoooo (change gear) vroooom-schooooo...So with a CVT that doesnt switch gears like that... what will the sound be??

my friend's SRT-4 makes that sound when ever he takes his foot off the gas. if he revs it or even just backing up (with stick shift). so i guess it would make that sound in manual mode and and when ever you take your foot off the gas (like to slow down at a red light).

wasn't there a problem with the 05+ altima's sensors? people couldn't put headers or anything like that on the 3.5 or they would have the check engine light. does this turbo kit come with some sort of 02 sensor block off or something? headers can be custom fit to cars at shops easily but the problem is the sensors. if you guys figured out how to stop the check engine light from coming on, all the people after headers will snatch it up right away

It would still allow for the use of factory options. At this time it's not looking like we're going to be using Hydra on Warner's car. He's getting his car back next week and there just isn't enough time for us to prototype a new EMS so he'll be getting an eManage.

Turbonetics wastegate.

Working off the stock headers.

hmmm interesting. eManage...which one, because i can think of two different ones off the top of my head which is the Blue and the Ultimate. and will you also be making a harness adapter for it as well?

btw doesnt using the stock headers hold back the full potential of power to be made. and how big is the stock piping on the headers?
