I believe your jumping to conclusions, Charles. The commercial did not say they purchased only new Camry's. It appeared some of the kids got "hand me downs" or used ones, which supports their reputation of longevity. I also think you're off base as far as uninspired mediocrity. Most car makers would kill to offer such an uninspired model that inspires people to repeat buy them to the point they consistently rank among the best selling car models. It's obvious you don't like them, but it's also obvious Toyota is doing something right with them
Tahnk you
Have you ever thought about why there are so many Camry's on the road. Maybe because they are reliable, great cost, and easy/cost effective to maintain. Not everyone can afford a new Hummer or a DB7 or whatever the hell you said. If that's a ll they know and love it, why change if you dont have to? I know people that have worked the same job for 30+ years, why, because they love it and dont desire change.
Im sure the Lunds' dont care about how much hp it has or the power : weight. They like it because it gets from point A to point B everytime. I had a Ford Escort for a while and let me tell you it was a true POS at first sight. It was standard as atandard could get, power nothing and 5 speed. But guess what, I actually thought it was one of the best cars I've driven because it never broke as many times as I tried. It did not leak 1 drop of oil ever and only costs me basic maintainence in the 1.5 years I had it. I would recommend it to anyone and I sold it for $750. Its a great car for a great price if you ask me. I would get another one if I wanted it (not the v6) for the same reasons.
