Glad to hear you are ok. You are right, that could have been much, MUCH worse. You just got T-boned and walked away with a bruise.

Holy shxt! I'm glad you're okay, hopefully you can eat this woman alive from a legal standpoint and get everything taken care of.

Good to know about those cars being so safe.

That crazy ***** almost killed the future first Thai POTUS, lol.

Wow man, I'm sorry to see that and thankful that it wasn't worse on your body than it was. Get yourself checked out by a hospital sooner than later- you DON'T want to deal with anything that suddenly pops up 1-2 months from now. Get it documented.

Good luck getting the car back!

Jesda, glad to hear your ok. Glad she didn't roll over or things could have been much worse. I bet that lady is tripping balls, "Oh my God, I hit a BMW... Im ****ed!!!" Maybe she will sell the kid.

Good luck getting everything figured out.

First and foremost - Your lucky to not be seriously hurt.

Second - Your right, anyone that asks if their light was green OBVIOUSLY wasnt paying ANY attention.

Third - I hope you got yourself checked out at a hospital, if not, do so immediately. My gf now has a condition known as Spindelolythesis (Sp?) basically she got into an accident a few years back, and never sustained any immediate injuries, but her bottom vertebrae in her spine has a small hairline fracture in it, and now she is in constant discomfort that now and again will limit her everyday abilities. If you want to be able to bend over your fender and look into your engine bay when your 30 years old, I suggest you go get looked at. - Im not a Doctor or nothin, I just dont wanna see you get old before you get old. Ya dig?

Also - Do as everyone else said and get it looked at by a for real BMW dealership. You did nothing wrong so you really shouldnt be penalized for any of this. I hope that she has good insurance.

Finally - It really sucks what happened to your car, I bet you have a fond hatred for Kias now.

Car's probably totaled.

Jezzada, what's next? CTS? Phaeton? I hear you can get those for pennies these days.

If I get the loan paid off I'll be happy with getting out of a payment. An E36 or a Seville STS for cash sounds tempting. Also, in the absence of a car payment I'd have more funds freed up for gas; I really wouldn't mind a Grand Cherokee.

God, the E36 M3 is a hell of a car. I don't know what your budget is, but they're slowly dropping to around 10k. The 318ti, while a bastard child that will leave you hated by the Roundel people, and people without Bimmers will think your a snob. That said, the room is good, and they're quite perky for being a 1.8.

I just called the lady who hit me and asked her if she was okay. She's bruised up and had a bum hip prior to the accident. I found out she's 82 years old! She was awfully nice and apologized over and over for what she did. She said she had a nightmare last night and pictured my freaked out face as I hit her.

Its good to deal with decent people when bad things happen.

its kind of sad to think about taking the old lady for what you deserve, but think about it like this:

she is old, her insurance payment is probably less than half what you would pay for a similar vehicle.

if she is too old to be driving, maybe this is a wake up call for her. she or her grandkid could have died! maybe someone needs to suggest she look into public transportation?

Damn Jesda, I'm glad you're okay. I've known BMWs were good in crashes (they're built for the Autobahn (sp?), after all), but not THAT good! I was looking at getting a 240.. S14s don't do this good, huh?

So Jesda, based on your previous experiences with cars and trucks (of which you have a lot), how would you rate that Bimmer (1 being worst, 10 being best)?

My tastes are strange and diverse, but since you asked:

Navigator - 9.3325 - 9Seville STS - 8Q45 - 8Range Rover - 8Maxima - 8LS400 - 8

There's something to appreciate about all of them, but the Lexus is the one I miss the least.

The only problem with the 325 are the dead spots in acceleration. If you keep the AT in sport mode its quick to move, but the power:weight is lacking, which I guess is why they offer the 330.

I'd take another 325 or 330. I'd prefer a manual, but the General Motors AT5 is a step above the ZF box. If the car ends up being properly fixed, I'd like to try a few minor modifications, starting with the exhaust which is obnoxiously quiet.

Despite being slow, the appeal of the car is how versatile it is. The back seat has more leg room than most 4-seat verts, and the ragtop is so well insulated that its barely any different from driving a coupe.

Be prepared to spend almost a grand on cat-back, some even more. I would have hacked the muffler off my e36 before I would have spent that amount of cash on pipe. Check out http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/index.php If you haven't already, I learned a lot from them.

Lots of info there, but mostly E36. I discovered E46Fanatics. My plans are to 1) try hacking off the mufflers and replacing them with pipes, and if that doesn't work I'll 2) Get an ebay muffler and just replace it every couple years after it disintegrates.

Just looking for some noise. I don't expect more than 2hp from an exhaust system upgrade.

You're plan is flawless sir. I would have done the same.

Also, did your e46 have dual exhaust all the way back to a single muffler? That's what made exhaust mods so expensive on the e36 328
