Went to pick up a car down near the Petersen Museum (close to Hollywood)...

What a butthole THAT place is. Bums, freaks, weirdos and filth. Makes South Phoenix look like a middle-class suburb.

If it wasn't for CA, I'd have to focus all my hate on NY. So, it's a good thing.

At least the hick fly-over states don't try to force things down your throat and they are decent enough to produce food for you to eat as well.

if ca kept all of its profit and didnt contribute to the government we would be way better off financially. and im sure if we were our own country we would do alright trading with other nations on our own.

Most people from other states agree that this state is the best. Thats why our population rivals that of new yorks. People vote with their feet.

<- is glad Los Angeles has the most hot girls in the country (since hot girls dislike crappy weather and prefer the coastline and move out of middle america to ca)

Cali revolt and be their own country? Man, that would be awesome!

People vote with their feet, is that why businesses are leaving Cali along with the "rich"?

"For the fourth year in a row, more residents left the Golden State than moved here from other states, according to a report released Wednesday by the California Department of Finance." - http://articles.latimes.com/20...nia18

"The number of people leaving California for another state outstripped the number moving in from another state during the year ending on July 1, 2008. California lost a net total of 144,000 people during that period" - http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news....html

Maybe you don't know Cali like you thought?

Blind statistics kick a**. Anything special happen over the last 4-5 years housing/finance wise?

I like how you guys come to down town SF, and downtown LA... then judged the rest of the state.

Try NOT going to the s***tiest two places. That's like going to Compton and saying "You know, its not that nice here"

California has no power over other states. We didn't for s*** on you the federal government and your own states did.

God damn, I was joking around with mad and you guys get all huffy and start dragging up all kinds of blind statistics and talking about how cali is oppressing you

Your comments aren't even accurate, you have been to one s***ty town in the state, and you don't have to come back. Quit your b****ing.

I've been to CA well over 25 times, from the southern border to the Napa Valley...

I still don't like it.

I've also been in 40 of the 50 states, and lived in 8 of them. So, I'll continue to spew my opinions.

Thanks.

Cali, a nice place to speed through, but I wouldn't want to live there. Florida looks interesting. Go south and see Cubans, northeast and see rich evil people's compounds, southwest has all the old people, middle has gators and panhandle for the hicks. That's diversity my friends!

I wish more people thought like you 3 who hate ca. The downside to living in the best state is that it gets crowded. I wish our population had just 6 million people like Arizona. CA population is 36 million! And the reason most of la is trashy is because there are too many people here. Put a lot of peoe in a spot and they'll f*** it up.

And just 144k have left ca? I hope that number grows ten fold. And that article states people leave bc they can't afford the housing. So they move somewhere else but they'd rather be in ca bc they know California rocks compared to the fly over state they moved to lol

Where's the "Oh, you were right. I didn't know that CA had lost it's glitter of gold." response as I showed you the population was shrinking?

When the rich leave and take their businesses with them they will be in a situation, like NY, where only a small percentage of people are paying taxes. Those that have any sort of job will pay more and the SBO's and other businesses that are left will be taxed to death in order to pay for all the others who stayed and enjoy their gov-sponsored benefits. Hell, at that time Cali can change their state flag to be the same as Mexico.

I don't hate Cali, I hate what the politicians have turned it into.

140k left out of 36 MILLION! That's not even a dent in the popularion. I guess 144k is a lot to a person coming from a not so popular state, but for a popular state like ours that's a drop in the bucket. Probably less than a drop.

Most of our "glitter of gold" is due to our awesome weather and coastline. So actually you're wrong. We haven't lost any of it.

Guess the people voting with their feet only matters when you think they are going TO Cali and not leaving.....

I have no issues with the mild weather I deal with on a yearly basis.....I also find it normal that anyone proclaiming their XXX is better than the what others have to be disingenuous as they are trying to convince themselves more often than not.

Ok, so 144k voted to leave ca, while the rest of the 30 plus million voted to stay. See? I counted it both ways.

And redcoupe responded to your posting of a blind statistic. We had the biggest housing bubble than anywhere in the US and we are suffering the brunt of the burst.

Still though, I know dozens of people who moved to other states but wish they could come back. And I know a lot of midwestern transplants who are working more than 3 jobs just so they could stay in ca and not have to go back to wherever they came from.

haha these definitions came up when i put in California in urban dictionary:

1. california 3512 up, 881 down love it hate it 1. State the produces more food than anywhere else, has crazy night life, large schools, hot women, a load of stuff to do, and a the longest beach anybody has ever seen.2. A place you'll want to stay in once you visit there.3. Extremely diverse.3. Much more entertaining than Texas.California.

2. California 2391 up, 683 down love it hate it 1. Good Weather2. Great Beaches3. Hot People4. Home to Orange County5. Usually made fun of by people in land-locked states with s***ty weather and ugly hicks who fantasize about f***ing the cast of "the o.c."you wish you had the terminator as your governor

6. california 1300 up, 279 down love it hate it land that endures the verbal abuse of other states and nations while still welcoming the dreams and aspirations of other states and nations. Impossible to stereotype, yet often the subject of the crulest stereotypes.Born and raised in California - I have never hugged a tree, and neither criticize others who do.

The last definition is so true!

Talk about blind statistics. Cali Department of Finance is worthless to you but the Urban dictionary has it down pat?

Should have expected it from you. From here on anything you have to say is worthless.

Why are you acting like the bursting of the housing bubble has nothing to with the exodus? It clearly states that in ur article. People are leaving because they can't afford to stay, not because they don't like it here.

LOL @ urban dictionary.

Suckiest freeways in America.

Arkansas has higher SAT scores.

And did I mention, the state is bankrupt?

By the way, CA has NOT borne the brunt of the housing bubble bust. AZ has you beat on that one, and NV does too. Sorry - I play with statistics all day.

I don't hate CA, but I despise the "center-of-the-universe" attitude from Californians who have never lived anywhere else or traveled the US coast-to-coast.

Well according to wikipedia ca is at least being affected by the burst just as much as az and nv are, if not moreso.

And yes we are the center of the universe. That's why we get to have 55 electoral votes while arizona only has 10.

Ok guys I'd love to continue this but I got to go, I'm going up to the mountains to snowboard a bit and going to the beach later to surf some waves.
