More good news. I was coming home from work today, and I was on a 4 lane in the outside lane, when a car pulls out in my lane, so I swapped lanes and I guess they wanted that one too because they came on over in the next lane. I swerved into the turning lane, where this bone head decided to join me by hitting me in the passenger side rear door of my truck. It wiped out the side of my truck, taking out the rear tire in the process. It ripped the entire front end off of bone heads' car. Then the lady actually thought she was in the right. She told the cop " he came out of nowhere and hit me." The cop said, " he was on the highway in one the largest trucks on the road, and you just didn't look."Maybe I can get a new turbo soon.I guess I got no choice but to get a new turbo. They want shop name, letter head, business card, shop ase certification, technician ase certification, 2nd grade homeroom teachers' second cousin's neighbor's dog's former owner who knew this guy that knew this other guy. They want so much crap, I don't even want to bother.

have you looked into getting replacement garrett internals and just swaping them out. Or a rebuild kit. They shouldn't be much $. If you bearings are shot on the turbo it might make sense since your oil was getting so much fuel in it from your other ecu problems. Im sure the turbo didnt like that.

just look and see how much it will cost to replace the seals, i think that's the only problem. Bad bearings i believe will make a lot of noise when the turbo's spinning

I'm going to check into a rebuild kit from the guy with the turbo shop near me, maybe even see if he will swap it out.The bearings aren't bad, just the seal on the exhaust side.

What size turbo you have? Just take it off, measure the flange go find the turbos he has that bolts up there, and look for ones with matching downpipe bolt pattern or just get another downpipe flange. How much did u pay for th eebay turboGive them the information and maybe come to an agreement on give me this flange and gaskets for my new turbo I had to get and leave em alone, otherwise I have all this paperwork and if it fails again and you give me any trouble at all I'll have my uncle tom "lawyer for 15yrs working BBB cases;)" contacting you.

yeah good idea florida, seals shouldn't be too much, try it zippy.

me personally, i would just try and get a used t25 or stick with a turbo that would bolt up to your existing mani and dp, it would be less of a headache imo

Well, thats what I would rather do, but I want to find one locally. I don't want to take any chances on a bad turbo.

I found a local t-25, but the guy wants like $300 for it. I may be able to talk him down a bit, but I don't know how much. I also found another guy who has a garett off a VW that is nearly new. But he is not sure of the flange size. Anybody know? What are the differences between t2 and t3 flanges? I tried to search for it but no luck. Also, what is the best way to check it out?

hey zippy, tried searching also couldn't find much. Some people say t2 and t3's will fit with an adapter flange? I measured the studs on my t3 manifold so I'll give you the measurements:45mm on the shorter sideand 85mm on the longer side

or just flash some green and try and get the guy w/ the t25 to cut you a deal..300 for a used t25 sounds kinda high imo. Did you try and look for some Z32 t25's? they should fit but idk

The guy is like 2 hours away. But the t25 he has is supposed to be real low mileage.I can get the nearly new vw t25 for $150 but I don't know the flange size. Thanks spooled, I'll take mine off tomorrow and measure. Was that center to center?

I measured and got 45mm x 75 mm. I wonder could I modify both turbo and flange to fit.Since there is only 10mm difference, then couldn't I drill manifold 2.5mm out on each side and then drill turbo out 2.5mm on each side?

Isn't $300 a bit much for a T25? lol

I agree it's too much, but I'm not finding any better deals on them. If you got a t25 in good working order, then hit me up.

hey if you have enough space on your flange to drill some more holes for a t3 then go for it. Many manifolds, and even mine come with pre-drilled holes for the t3 OR t4 bolt flange, just make sure they're centered around the center exhaust hole Since the bolts are just 10mm shorter apart than the t3's (85mm) just drill those 4 bolt holes 5mm farther apart on either side. They are already 45mm from the other side and I think you could be able to squeeze another 5mm out of that flange...or just find a good used t25 for cheap, your choice

I haven't done a side by side on them yet, but I've had a few folks say it won't work.Everybody is saying $100-$150 for a used sr t25, but I can't find them.I hope to find one soon so I can get back boostin'. My truck is killing me in gas, and the 0-60 is just plain sickening.lol

for that much look into getting a holset hy35 or hx35; lots of times cheaper.

If you are talking about the smoking issue, That is solved, or will be once a new turbo is put on.But I did add a quart of Lucas but since it was the turbo seals, it had no effect. But my engine said,"MMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMM good, thanks."But I appreciate the advice. THANKS

It solved my turbo seal problems, oil does go through the turbo as well...right? I could be making a mistake, but my car doesn't smoke like a crackhead anymore since i added some Lucas.

Well, not really. I asked my wife to check it, and I thought she would up my bid to 200 or so, but she didn't. That's why I'm holding out on her for a week or so, you know, teach her a lesson.A week without my sweet lovin', and she'll be calling Mr. Garrett himself, begging for a turbo for me. It's cool though, I saw a turbo in the classifieds here and called the guy, and he called me back.In like 10 minutes I had paypal'ed him $65 for a t25 shipped.Hey Spooled, I don't know if you saw my "New Toy" post, but I have been busy and haven't been able to post pics yet, but when I do I'll have a surprise that will make most folks here so ^%$#%^$ jealous, they are going to POOP!As a matter of fact, I'm about to poop just thinking about it. I'm so excited, I feel like a young boy that just found a closet full of Penthouse's.Make sure to check that post Monday.
