To help with ventilation under the hood. It's also nice because I can hear my motor better search for hood prop mod.

BIIIG update, I hope this starts on page 5 because page 4 will be bad for 56k then.Leading off, I made a brake master cylinder shield out of aluminum sheeting for roofs. Cost me like 2 bucks.

Pic of my pipingpro.com intake kit installed with my Injen filter and N60 MAF. they barely fit in there hehe. only thing is I'm missing the PBM catch tank atm.

Check out my ground bracket I made out of aluminum for the injector and harness grounds. I did this because it's badass and I don't have to lengthen the ground wires, so hopefully more current flow.

When I put the fender liner on for the passenger side (because we ran 4 gauge wire thru the fender liner) I dropped a screw down there. I found lots of leaves so I cleaned out both sides. The driver's side was really bad. I could have planted a tree in that fender well. I rust proofed it w/ rustoleum brown paint after cleaning, but it really hadn't even started to rust. I got lucky.

All the dirt that fell out of this side. It was mixed w/ road gravel too.

Showing the beefy 0gauge wire terminals hooked up. Notice the ground wire IS touching the aluminum brackets. It's ok because they're connected to chassis anyway so they would be able to conduct even if they weren't touching. Just make sure the positive gets nowhere near your brackets. I cut a fuel hose in half and inserted it on the bracket.

Showing my ECU install. Make sure you bolt it in and if you don't, at least run a ground wire for it to chassis. The ecu needs a body ground too. It gets weak grounds from those tiny wires, but do it a favor. I bolted it on the bottom, and ran a ground wire up top also. Pics:here's a better one of the wire.

ECU in place ready for action!

Just a pic of my positive terminal wire running into the rear panel before it snakes along under the carpet on the ps rocker panel. Those seatbelts R fake and yea, some ppl dont like the white, but my car's all shades of grey. I'd rather have these than getting strangled by the power ones, and they weigh less ftw.

I pulled up the carpet near the firewall to show you how Mrgreeneyes ran the 0gague wire into a tap that runs two 4 gauge wires out to the engine compartment. One went to the starter and one went up to power the relays. The extra wire u see going to nothing is just a loop around since we wanted to keep some slack in case i wanted to change it up later on.

This pic is inside the glove box just showing where to snake the SAFC 2 harness. ez stuff.

Install the safc onto bracket however you like. Notice the ground on the radio screw. That's how pro greeneyes is he doubled my radio ground there back this summer for better electron flowwww.

Pic of the motor. I have 3 grounds from the body to the motor itself from varying locations. The more the merrier. Silver looks hot!

Could I be an interior king someday? who knows lol.

That is all for now. I'm going to setup the safc and attempt a test drive

Good work man!

I might be REAL late on this but 10$ for a Q45 ignitor!?!?! Nice deal!! I wish my local junkyards offered that much even for the ignitor alone!.

lol I thought that was hilarious idaho.

Yeah duffman, i was preparing to pay like 30 bucks. /whew

I've been attempting to start it. Turns out, greeneyes was 99% right on the wiring. he cut the starter signal wire lol. i've been adjusting the CAS also after calling the guy who sold me the motor and confirming that the CAS wasn't properly set. she's set now at tdc and all that ****e. putting the valve cover back on.safc 2 is set. it's pretty easy, just makes u feel like ur guessing sometimes.

Well I got it running finally. It took awhile because I wanted to install the catch tank, and the CAS was really troublesome to figure out where the sweet spot was, because mine didn't have as clear markings since it's new. I guess they were marked in the wrong spot because mine was off.

It does well during boost, it's very fun even at half throttle so far

But there is one thing, it backfired when i let off the throttle after like 4k rpm though. After that I took it easy and drove home. Any help? I need to figure out what safc2 setting there is for atmospheric bov.

^ im emailing u the link right now on how to set the safc2. most likely the atmospheric bov is the cause of the back fire

I've been reading around and I think it's because with a turbo SAFC 2 you have to set DEC air settings.

http://www.zeroyon.com/index/content/view/64/47/

zerothread?id=124705^that one's a big help. the safc still reads what the maf is getting when decellerating, which means its still getting almost maximum spool, but that pressure is being dumped out, so extra fuel is injected and bam.

looks like the ppl in that thread u sent me WC, were right on. Srpowered240sx.zerothread?id=299364

Nice build! You have done a lot of stuff i'm going to adapt and change into my build. I like the usb port in the center console. Have you seen the ecu management board you can solder into the ecu? It puts a usb port in your ecu. I was thinking it would be sweet to run 2 usb ports one for the laptop when i get it and 1 for the cd player to play music off a jump drive. I had a cd player that had one built into the front but it was always in the way of shifting. I ended up breaking a jumpdrive and I sold the cd player. How do you have that usb port wired into your cd player? Is there a port on the back for it?

He doesn't know what you have nub. I have a year old kenwood excelon. It came with the 'ipod input' but that's really just an auxiliary headphone cable.

The usb input is for... i dont know what lol. But that's an awesome idea. I could hook up my laptop to that and see if it reads my mp3 files. wooohoo good thinkin man!The inputs came w/ the headunit, so they have plugs that just plug into the rear of it.

Do u have a build thread by chance? care 2 link?

i'm going outside to correct the knock sensor safc setup, since i forgot to do that upon startup

Well I don't have any pics because we broke her in nicely tonight.

It was late, but greeneyes came over and helped me tune the safc 2. I hit initialize after doing all the setup because I thought it would initialize the setup. Turns out, it deletes everything you just set. The safc thought my car was a 6cyl Kar/ ait sensored intake car lol. Needless to say I fouled a set of plugs.

We got a hold of some new platinum plugs, gapped em to .036 because that's what I've read the stockers are at. Hell i should have just measured those. These should hold up well thru the tuning.Fixed the safc 2, runs soo smooth!

Couple things to note about startup of a swap:

1: Your CAS might be a bit off, so that's the first thing I would check if it doesn't start up right away. Put the motor to TDC (on the yellow 2nd from the left tickmark on the pulley, and pull spark plug 1 to make sure u see the piston) Then you might have to turn the CAS gear counter clockwise 1 tooth from the said location on the heavythrottle timing install. For some reason my new CAS had markings in slightly wrong locations.

2:You'll hear a bit of ticking first time you start. Mine went away within about 5 miles or less, but it's just the timing chain tensioner getting lubricated again so it can "spring" into action... Heh.. heh.

Still going to take me time to figure out why it's running a bit rich, but I'm headed to envision imports for some tuning ASAP.

I'm glad the bov works great. Having it in the bumper is kinda nice, it sounds less ricey.

NO I don't have a build thread yet.. Everything I do comes really slow b/c i'm in college right now and really can't afford new parts all the time. I will create a build thread when I go to turbo mine this spring or swap my motor out. I'm trying to trade off my z32 so i can get an already turboed swap in a whole car but I can't find anyone that wants it.... How much did you give for your cd player? It sounds pretty badas$. I'd like to get one eventually. Got a link to where I could buy one? I bookmark everything I like in a huge folder. I'd also like to have a pc underneath my cd player one of these days.... That will probably not come till after college tho. I've got a bunch of plans for my s13 but limited cash flow right now... And being that I'm still running the sohc ka.... Doesn't help!

I know how you feel cmoody. I'm in the same boat I just got lucky because I justified the swap with the KA dieing on me :/. My parents weren't happy about all the new parts needed tho.

Idaho, thanks a bunch for your help and numerous parts. Great doing business, hopefully one day you'll live in pa . Good luck finishing up the swap man.

WC, I will in time. Gotta get this idle bug tweaked first. I think it's my IACV. I believe it's broken but it could also be: (list for reference for myself):safc2 throttle self learn voltagecheck bov vaccum line.

iacv might just need cleaned and stuff but i'm not sure if i can adjust a screw in it other than the idle one.

I adjusted the rear suspension today to firm up the ride. It's nice and firm now.

While I was down there I snapped a pic of my diff pumpkin that I dressed up after putting the s15 hlsd into.

I'd love to go with the sr motor and turbo it... Only problem.... Money.... If I sold my z32 i would buy an sr20 and build it from the ground up.... But i can't find anyone that wants an auto z32..... I think I have a plan tho... I found a guy that has the whole 5 spd swap for my 300 and i'm considering trading my 17's for his motor, trans, and all the 5 spd stuff. He has wanted my wheels for ever now.... But if I go that route I'll prolly not want to get rid of my z32 and then I'll still have the money issue with the s13 and still be wanting an sr20
