to be honest to fabricate indiv l.e.d holders without a mold would be very time consuming and would add on the total a fair bit. i can get l.e.d strips no problem from my distributor, i have 2 pairs comming now but i wanted to see if i could get a pair locally to put in spocks car. the colours i can get are red, blue, white, green, amber, yellow, purple i believe so if anyone is interested in those i can get them for your retro

That's cuz this thread is awesome! I totally want these when they're done, but may have to wait a little to save up the money to buy.

Only cooler thread is here... http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread/358135 /endthreadjack

If making a custom mold for the LED will be too time consuming, are they led strips with larger bulbs compared to the one's that Dangeris and Doc used for their cars? Or how will you go about putting these on there....1 strip going verticle....2 strips......ect?

God question Domdada. I'm also wondering if anyone knows the legalities in the USA for turn signal colors. I'm guessing any 'modified' lighting is illegal to be used on the road, so the trick is to make it look stock. Audi has the R8 strips so white leds or amber leds shouldn't be an issue.

Has anyone else seen any other LEDs on the front of any stock vehicles? Post pics! If its stock for them, it'd be legal for us!

In Illinois (pretty sure this holds for the rest of the US), blue is illegal unless you're driving an emergency vehicle. I got pulled over for it (I had white lights that had a slightly blue hue to them and the cop gave me a warning for it). I would image you should try to stay away from blue/purple or anything that can be construed as blue. White might be ok, but sticking with an amber/yellow would probably be your best bet. Guess it probably depends on the mood of the cop that sees it.

Wow... I actually really don't like those... I mean, don't get me wrong. The rest of the car is beautiful, but the shape of the headlight enclosure which the LEDs trace is just not the way it should of been done...

I'm with rob on this one-- I like the leds on the aston martin but not so much on the audi... the vertical strip seems to flow better with the car

wow...this is crazy.. guys, think about where we were a couple months or even weeks ago regarding our lights. we all thought it was close to impossible to get inside our lights. and thanks to the creators of this thread, and of course brandon, we are now awaiting pictures of projectors headlights.

There is a how to, seriously its easy to do. Just note you have to remove your front fascia to do so.

Heres a few teaser pics, ill put up the final ones tomorrow, only thing left is the shrouds and ive come up with a few designs but wont post those up till tomorrow, picture of the factory bulb you can see how i modified it so you could use it with the projectors. for the covers that hold the lenses on you can see how i painted the sides black but left the tips chrome to match the chrome in the headlight. to be honest for the group buy i doubt we will be going with infinity fx, alot of modding is needed to make it fit into the factory housing.

the picture makes it look like the projector isnt sitting level, but how the light is designed it should make the cut off perfect. also the good part about the prototype, if the cutoff is off we can go back and fix it.

the one picture in there shows whats inside a bi xenon projector and what it looks like when its back together incase anyone was wondering

i have a pair of bmw bi xenon comming and there a bit shorter which was the main problem, theres no height but lots of width, i also have a pair of s4 low beam only projectors comming which should fit no problem.
