I can't wait, for that , bi-xenon is the sexbrandonbeeb wrote:alright guys i am picking up the lights tomorrow so we are good to go. im getting alot of emails about doing a dual projector, to be honest theres a few reasons why not to. first the cost with it isnt worth it, second you can do a bixenon set up if you really want projector high beams, third there isnt that much room in the altima coupe to go with 2 seperate headlights. also when we have the light apart on tuesday we are going to measure it for l.e.d strips and angel eyes incase anyone is interested, it also depends on the size of the projector if you want your angel eye to go around it. the set up where doing is going to be blacked out with a bi xenon set up, custom shroud, bulbs modified, harness to power the high beams, turn signal in the old high beam and well try to keep it as stock looking as possible.
Well, I didn't receive anymore words on that, but we still managed to get 41 people to sign in on the pool for eventual mass produced headlights. http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread/359469RobPaulson wrote:so i read through these pages real quick, but what is the final verdict here?
it looks like a few people found someone who can retrofit projectors into the current housings?
thats great and all . . . but what about the people who cant remove thier headlights and ship them out, my AC is an every day driver and i cant go without lights for more than a 24 hour period.
mcheddadi was there any more word on mass production of a projector headlamp setup? i have not receive any further updates from my contacts =/
You could always try to find a replacement set of housings. If Brandon can end up retrofitting the non-HID OEM housings, you can find those brand new for under $500/pair (I know this isn't ideal, but it is an option). Also, try to find some from a scrap car being sold for parts. That might actually be your best bet. Plus, having the projectors as separate housings would allow you to sell them independent of your car when you move to your next vehicle (which should help recover some of the cost).RobPaulson wrote:thats great and all . . . but what about the people who cant remove thier headlights and ship them out, my AC is an every day driver and i cant go without lights for more than a 24 hour period.
LOL sorry about not cleaning them I religiously clean the car once a week, usually the weekends but as you know I was out of town, so that was about 4 hours of driving into bugs on those lights .brandonbeeb wrote:just wanted everyone to know that we got spocks lights, he kindly dropped them off tonight, look lke they just came out of the showroom actually lol. how he brought them to me was perfect, all bulbs inside, ballast still attached. basically i just got finished stripping them down, all screws are out, ballasts are off (theres a nice hole when you take them off as they actually seal the headlight unlike most headlights) bulbs are out and headlights have been cleaned so when we put them in the oven it doesnt bake any of the dirt into the lenses. All thats left is to get them apart tomorrow so ill get some pics up shortly and keep everyone updated throughout the day tomorrow
Somehow I'm sure I wont be the only one checking on updates throughout the day today (gotta keep it hidden while my boss is around though).brandonbeeb wrote:All thats left is to get them apart tomorrow so ill get some pics up shortly and keep everyone updated throughout the day tomorrow
hey its actually a company, theres 2 of us who do the lights, i do the actual retrofitting and the other guy is the person to see when it comes to wiring or anything electrical. he makes up all the custom harness but also does retrofitting. we started the company about a year and a half ago, before that we did retros on the side as a hobby then we would always get asked about doing other peoples light since they where interested but didnt like the prices that light werkz charges. and eventually it turned into us becoming vendors.Shift_Altima wrote:sick.
brandonbeeb.. not to be rude or dense or anything.. but are you like a person in a company? or is this something you do as a passtime? or like oddjob or seomthing?
