Since you can do the non-HID factory lights, would it be helpful at all if we can send you the headlights, balasts, bulbs and projectors? I'm pretty sure I can find all of those things once I have money. I would only need angel/demon eyes and then the fabrication (obviously).brandonbeeb wrote:looks like they wont be finished until tomorrow night i have to run a few errands to pick up some items for the projectors. forgot to add that for the next couple orders we can also do colour mods on the projectors on certain models to get a nice purple/blue tint to the cutoff colour.
I have 2 sets of bixenon projectors comming in early next week if anyone is in a hurry to get theres done before the big group buy let me know. can also do them for non factory hid lights as i have a set of d2s bulbs and adapters with factory colour output
to be honest id prefer to buy the stuff instead of people piecing it together, because then i cant warranty it and dont know where you get it from as i use the same supplier to get all my parts from. although projectors arnt warranty since there all used id still prefer to purchase the parts for you unless you already have them let me know. honestly you wont even notice the difference in light output with the mod done, its so small that its worth it to get a nice colorful cutoff.AppleBonker wrote:

Also, if you color mod the FX bixenons, how much does that affect the cutoff? I've heard a bunch of people complain about color modded FX projectors not having a sharp/clean cutoff at all. I know color modding affects it somewhat, but do you have any input on to what degree?
to be honest its not worth it to take them apart unless your doing a retrofit, and it advise not to try to take your lights apart unless youve done it before as theres just to many things that can go wrong.Shift_Altima wrote:damn that's nice. i can't wait. i hate to be the one asking all the dumb obvious questions.. but how do you take out headlight housing? and if it's done by someone how much will it cost to take out and put back in?
that's looking sick brandon...can't wait to see the finished product!brandonbeeb wrote:few more pictures i just got off the camera. put the chrome bowls back and the glass back ontop of the surronds. not only are they rubber butyled in, theres also 3 screws holding them and tape all to hold it to the glass
Paint? i never said you could paint them i said we can get you different colour bulbs based on the kelvins, i wouldnt go above 8000k the best is 4300 as its the easiest on the eyes and its the brightest output you can get, after that they start to go white, then blue, pink and so on but they also get less bright so you have to choose what you would rather have, light or a nice colourdomdada wrote:Hey Brandon,
First off....the progress is looking good. Second, the last email you sent me, you mentioned that you can paint the bulb to get any color I wanted....were you referring to the HID bulb? Because from past experience, when I had painted an ordinary halogen bulb, there was a huge difference in light output. The output decreased like no other.....won't this happen with the HID Bulb as well? Can't you order specific bulbs for what the person wants (8000k, 10000k, 12000k) but the d2r or d2s sizes?
the parts he painted black on my headlights are the parts he will paint any colour not the bulbs.domdada wrote:***EDIT***
this is the e-mail i got from you......
Hey,
No we can get adaptors so your ballast can work with the projectors, and we would need to get you new bulbs. The price includes removing the amber but at the moment it doesn’t include the angel eyes or l.e.d, where measuring those out today and going to be posting prices of them, they shouldn’t be to much extra to include them. We also can paint the lights to what ever you want
errr.... well I myself wanted amber....I can't see what other colours other people want but, white and amber I believe are the only two colours that are legal here. So if I went blue I believe I could be ticketed for that.maxentropy wrote:Don't do amber-- do blue in like an 7500 or 8000k type look. You wanted to use these LED strips as the turn signals right? Do 'em the color I mentioned above and make em sequential. /druel
Bonus points if it's not just a boring strip and you actually fabricate a holder for each LED like the picture below...
In Ontario, no, they can be white.maxentropy wrote:Hmmm, which makes me wonder-- do turn signals legally have to be amber?
LOL, ya Mehdi, YOU started the projector prototype fever, okmcheddadi wrote:ah its the prototyper's luck, and to think I was the one who started all this lol. damn Moroccan vacation
