So sitting around today on the phone, going over suspension options with a customer... It dawned on me of some other spring company's I have access to...

I already have TEIN S-Tech's on order for the Gloria/Cedric

As of Monday I will also be putting Espilar springs on order as well...

Neither company has ever shipped these springs to the states for the Y34 so they will be first test fitments.... If they are successful, I will stock them for sale...

What I am worried about is the front drop being more than advertised with the heavier VK up front rather then a VQ30DET / VQ25...

I would guess it will be an extra 0.5" drop up front at most... When the car is apart, I will look and see if the spring seats in the rear can be cut to compensate in the rear so it sits lower... This is just my assumption... I will first test fit in stock form, and if the car looks like it is diving too much, then modifications will begin...

The good news is, the rubber spring seats in the rear are not very expensive at all...

Unfortunately we are at least another few weeks away till the TEIN springs will be arriving... and 60 days for the Espilar...

I just thought I would get some interest started

I don't think its going to be that much for the weight difference of the motor... But, if its anything like other US cars, they are usually more reinforced frames that will weight more... Its most likely going to be a slight difference... but we will find out... I'm impatient ...

When you get the S-techs, can you please take some pics of the springs out of the box. I'd like to use the springs on my G35, but I need to know if the springs are progressive or linear. I know I could call the Tein tech line, but they have given me incorrect info before. Seeing pics of the springs themselves will allow me a positive I.D. Thanks

Hrmmm.... I will check for you....

In the mean time, I am going to look at the next Y34 that is up in the air in our shop and measure the ID of the springs... If they match,,, I will try putting on the TEIN & TANABE springs I have instock for the 350Z / G35....

ALTHOUGH! The spring rates on the front of these aftermarket springs for the Y34 are 2kg up front! front 350Z / G35 springs are around 5-7kg depending on type...

I just did some research and I may have misunderstood . The current M45/M35 is known in Japan as the Fuga and that car uses the chassis code Y50. I don't know why I assumed you were getting springs for the latest M45 , sorry about that. Reaon I posted is after looking at Tein's web site and seeing the rate specs for the M45 2006+http://www.tein.com/infiniti.html

I am very familer with that spring rate chart you post on my350z and g35driver etc...

I might have some M springs, but I highly doubt it, we havent put any springs on an M for a while...

Yeah... the current Y50 (FUGA / M35 / M45) is going to be a bit different then the Y34 (Gloria / Cedric / M45) (most people dont even know this car exhisted...)

The front spring rates on the TEIN S-Tech for the Y34 are 2.1kg Rear is 6k

When I looked at the springs on my Y34 now that I think of it, the rear ID is much smaller then the Z33 / V35 / Y50... the front is much larger (more like the rear of your V35)

did vogtland say that those springs would work with the 03/04s?

If they are in R&D and you could swing some deal, I would be very grateful. That is if the springs you have coming now won't work.

That what the springs are for.. the Y34 M45...

its just another option...

The TEIN are most likely going to make it look like the car is diving...The Espelir are most likely going to make it a more even drop...

Not sure on the spec's of the Vogtland, but we will find out...

I did not get a call back today, but I will give them a call on Monday and see if they heard back from Germany..

any word from vogtland?

I figured it would be necessary to lower it after all the pics i've viewed but I have friends saying I wont even need lowering if i get 20s. Your opinion?

I am officially very nervous now... Got the passenger side done... Took off the stock spring...

Spring mounts up just fine... has to be compressed alot obviously...

I hope that the spring rate is that much lighter on the TEIN springs that they will sag once there is weight on them... The stock springs feel stiffer... I hope tein has it this way so the coils end up touching sooner since there will be more of them as the spring compresses... I dont know... we will see in a couple hours...

wish me luck!

Sucess!

Well, for the front atleast!

Fronts are on... I put it onto the ground to see how it looked... Man, these springs are much softer then stock in the front! Really curious to see how they ride!

I just rolled the car back and forth to make sure they dropped... Looks to be about 1" up front at the moment... TEIN's are not known to sag like Eibach's...

Rears are almost done...

Pix to come!

With softer springs, I wonder about the handling changes that may happen ... please let us know what you experience.
