INFINITI does not even sell re-fill cartridges (damper inserts) so you have to purchase a new front strut all together, and since you are removing that bearing that is pressed on / off.. you would be best to purchase a new front wheel bearing as well.

I do have all the OEM parts available as well for this vehicle and will offer the same forum prices I offered before... email me with any part requests...
Hey ClucthKickwheel bearing??? hmmm. interesting. what is the result of these going bad? Clicking, noise????

oh, and those springs that boon passed on; what is the plan for those. I know a guy here and he may possibly be down for'em. And, he doesn't have a wife! lol j/k

Humming, slightly grinding sound like noise, gets worse longer you drive.

clicking if really bad, the wheel would shimmy left to rite even when the wheel is totally straight...

but usually a wheel bearing will make a whorling / grinding sound.

At the moment, I just have the 5 springs on the way that have been paid for...

good info, thanks guys. I was curious because after I installed my eibachs I had my front suspension links replaced and the sympotms(sp) were a small thunking when I went over the smallest bump and it was one of those sounds that only a real car guy could possibly hear. I had them replaced under warranty and the tech replace them without removing the wheels and it took a matter of minutes. Since then no problem.

Been lurking for a while. Just bought a one owner '03 with 37K for 16.9K. It goes on a truck in Dallas Tuesday for delivery Wednesday. (fingers crossed)

This sled needs to go low! If there is a set up for grabs, count me!

Will start a new thread when the car arrives and log the progress.

thanks all for all the great info on this forum!

Mine came Tuesday evening. now for the installation...all the fuss has me thinking about having to get a new hub and bearing assemblies... "You do not want to pull the old one off and re-use it". How the heck can we get these since they aren't sold individually and how much are they , anyway? Jason? Cake?

you dont NEED to.. I did it on mine with I think it was around 50 or 60K on the car and didnt have a problem...

I was saying that there is a possibility of the bearing being damaged... If that happens it would need to be replaced...

I can get pricing for any OEM parts you may be looking for... I ship out regularly maintenance M and other vehicle parts...

yeah... I'm a shlubb, too... I can't seem to get these put on by anyone at a reasonable price and during a reasonable time.... Dealership want $1000 plus alignment fees. local shops want $500 plus alignment fees. Only found 1 place kinda far that only wants $375 including the alignment. I am holding out for them but have been too busy to schedule an appointment for a Saturday since the are an hour+ drive, they may need 5 hours to do the work and mull over issues, etc...

$500 seems resonable. I got the allignment & springs done for approx 550-575 at the Infiniti dealer. Now, keep in mind that the rears are the easiest and will take no more than 20 minutes once its up on the lift, so that may be a good negotiating(sp) point to bring up when getting a quote.

Heck... I bit the bullet and set my appointment for Monday the 18th... Will do some before shots at the shop and do the after shots a week or so later once the car settles. I am putting the Bass cabinet and amp I plan to run in the car so it factors into the alignment. don't want to dispraportionally weigh down the car after the fact. Heck I wish I could climb my fat 220Lbs azz into the car while it's on the rack to further ensure a perfect alignment! LOL

Matt, the job can be done in an hour on a lift. A friend of mine did the suspension on my Maxima in 45 minutes

You can do that on your maxima, 350z, altima, 240sx, sentra, and newer M35/M45...

but this is the 03-04 M45 we are talking about...

I'd be willing to bet he can knock it out in the same time. This is the guy who dropped an auto trans and put a manual on in four hours...in a garage.
