plus you wouldn't be worrying about freon, more like what the clearance between the housing and the tires would be.

finally.. an update.

We finally got the last part of the exhaust system. Magan Racing, cat-back turbo type, model CBS-NS15 (short tip).

We purchased some of those e-bay blue hangers. They were made from a plastic that was very difficult to get to fit over the ends of the support brackets. If I had to do it again, I would stick with the OEM.

EXHAUST SYSTEM VERY GOOD FIT!!! I was very impressed with the alignment and fit of this exhaust system. All the flanges were perfect! Not just close, PERFECT!

What do you think?

I'm not so crazy about it, I think it is a little bit too big. (lol)Cam is going banana's. "Are you nut's? that's sexy as hell!!" I guess it is exactly what he wanted. There ya go...everybody is different.

I will post the video with sound later. That, we both agreed on. It does sound great.

I was always watching the hood bounce around and the fit was not as good as it should be. I ordered the hood bumpers and installed them.

Here is front right corner. A little low along fender and close to headlight.

Screw is new bumper

It is threaded all the way down, so you use it to adjust hood height.

Hood fit after

Bumper old and new. Kinda squished.

Here is new, middle on hood.

OK hood is done!

There are six bumpers that support it.2 X 65823-28E00 (front center)2 X 62840-D0100 (front corner)2 X 65158-65F00 (middle on hood)

Now we are off to get some new winter tires.

I think they are turboZ or something like that. Not sure. They came on the car and look like they have new rubber on them.

This is coming along beautifully. Keep it up.

P.S.- I too agree that the exhaust could be smaller, but its all for him

GREAT GREAT GREAT job on the build. Good to see a father bonding with his son. My father would NEVER work on a car with me lol, much less buy an engine and all those parts.

Just make sure he is extremely aware of the dangers of driving a turbo'd car. I'm sure if you beat his brain in about it enough times he will get the picture. (low boost is your friend and his for the time being )

Once again great job and keep the updates coming!

Very strong but not too loud. I think it is quiet enough that he will not get a ticket but loud enough, when aggressive, to get noticed. If he is careful, he could easily go into stealth/Ninja mode and sneak around.

I tried to record earlier today, but not having good results. Having technical difficulties. I will post later.

Gord... I tip my hat to you man. A new(ish) member whose already provided so much WIN!

Im not a 240 guy, but ive never seen something come together this quickly that wasnt done in a shop.

You took excellent pictures and provided great info on your progress, get some of these pics made into a book on one of those photo sites.. and it will be saved forever!

Great work, Great posts, Great bonding...Im sure your son appreciates all the time (not to mention the cash) you put into this and I wish him nothing but years of smooth sailing!

I've held back, following this stream with great interest and awe. Just have to post one of my own. Great job guys - I couldn't be more proud of the two of you. The comments coming in say it all. Takes me back to the 70's when Gord was strewing the family yard with vehicles and engines. Again, great job. Love you, <Dad> (Gord Senior)

Awesome build still, guys.

Turning out very nice. Can't say i am a fan of the big canister exhaust, I usually prefer something more subtle and oem looking, but if it's what he likes, I can't say much else about it. As long as it sounds good and functions properly, cosmetics are out of the question.

Also, I bet you (Dad - Gordon, whoever..) are impressed with the S Chassis now, huh? Maybe you'll have to pick up one for yourself and do an LS1 Swap.

And also, make sure he doesn't drive that thing too fast. I had a pretty quick car when I was a kid and I would let the power get the best of me in some cases, though I never had a major accident (there was certainly potential.) Simply remind him of the hard work the car took to get to this point and let him know repairing it will be even worse! Save the driving fast for the track.

Good luck with your future builds.
