Any synthetic engine oil should be good in the SR. I believe 5w30 is recommended. There's a few Amsoil vendors here on NICO that are site sponsors that offer NICO discounts.

Yes, you are going to want a section of flex pipe somewhere in your exhaust system.

You don't have to have a piece of flex pipe in there. It depends on your hangers, engine mounts, etc. Flex pipe is pretty much required for FWD cars because when the engine shifts, it turns forward and back. If you expect a lot of shift in your engine, then it may be wise to consider flex pipe.

True, you really don't NEED it, but its always nice to it to isolate vibrations from the engine from the rest of the car and exhaust and whatnot, especially if you have an aftermarket header/manifold. The welds on them tend to not like those vibrations and whatnot.

ok, i bought a 96 240sx on monday. i was told the oil pan gasket was leaking, but it was the valve cover too. so i go to autozone and buy gaskets. the valve cover gasket didnt fit..ie. 2 hole in the top. as a s14 should have. so i investigated further and found its a s13 ka24de but my ecu is a ca 96 manuak transmission ecu. what did they have to do to make that work and can i switch the ecu to a 95 manual ecu to make it obd1 or not?

So they swapped an S13 KA into the car. In order to swap the ECU to OBDI, you'd have to swap the engine room harness as well. The connectors are different. I THINK someone might make a converter harness though... I'm not sure.

I'm not sure, I've never swapped the harness out. Have you looked in the SR subforum? It might be answered in one of the FAQ threads.

I'm currently trying to redo the interior of my car and I'm stuck on the roof. I'm tryin to reupholster the headliner and I've looked up a write-up on how to do it but the pictures and discription on how to do it was very vague. I was wondering if you can give me some tips or advice on how I should go about doing this. I know the headliner is removable so that should make it a little easier I assume.

Also there I'm trying to redo the carpeting, should I go through the trouble of changing it out or should I just buy some new floor mats?

Well you can always do floor mats and just see if you are satisfied. Typically people pull the carpet, give it an amazing cleaning out of the car, and then dye it.

The headliner is removable. You can just use some 3M spray on adhesive and new fabric though. I've never been able to get something like that to come out right, and professionals don't charge that much to do the job so I typically just pay them.

What would I usually "Yelp" for if I wanted to find a shop that can upholster my roof for me? I have too much trouble looking through forums because it's usually super out-dated or they just neglect the "So-Cal" section.

Yelp? wtf is that?

I've found that places that install sunroofs do a pretty good job at headliner repair.

S13 Widebody Pignose... Good or bad idea? 20mm renders up front and 30mm on the rear quarter panels? I've tried looking but can't find one anywhere, though I think it'd look pretty B.A.

Can anybody post some pics of some wide-fender hatches? Thanks.

Try a junk yard or the classifieds section of NICO.

You could probably get someone in 240 gen or gen chat to do a photoshop rendering for you.

Is that the thing they stick on the inside of the rear quarter? I saw that before and thought it was just added some structural rigidity to the area. Looks like a square piece of metal that is just stuck on with glue or epoxy. I'd probably try that before buying something from Nissan. How much do they want for it anyway?

Hey there, I am having a hell of a time trying to get my project running. A few details to start, I took a ka24de (with an auto transmission) out of a totaled 93 hatch, I swapped it into a shell of a 91 manual hatch ( now with a 5 speed) I am using the upper and lower engine harness out of the auto as the shell which was a manual had none, in addition to the shell already being set up for a 5 speed it previously had an sr in it, so I had to fix some wiring to turn the harness that was in the car back into a Ka friendly harness.

The problem I am having is finding out how I should wire the 5 speeds sensors to the harness of the shell. It has the auto harness, but not the rest of the auto harness plugs ( the ones that most people modify when they do their 5 speed swaps that are not connected to the engine harness )

essentially I need to know how to wire the sensors to make the car start with what I have ( auto engine harness with a manual body harness )

any ideas? I would appreciate any input.

You might want to make a new thread about that, with pictures and everything.
Are you just talking about the gear sensors? If so, you shouldn't need them. The car should start fine without any of that.

As long as you have the Manual ECU, all you need is a switch for the clutch pedal. It can be bypassed, but if it's not wired in, it needs to be.

Well I started the "Cor Integration New parts on the market" thread. It got locked out because I was told I'm supposed to ask for permission first. Because it had to do with advertising I believe. I wasn't able to pm anyone either. Probably because I started a new username. So I would like to get the thread unlocked so it can continue.

Yeah operating the site isn't free. NICO doesn't charge its users like most other forums, so the vendors and advertisers are what pays the bills.

Yeah, I love all of the Ford, Honda, and Toyota ads I keep seeing on the site...

They're keeping NICO afloat!
