Im going back to the 2 tone when i paint it.


As for the Z... top of 3rd + sharp a** turn + no lsd = wall and poll....

Same thing happened to me in my vert. I was turning left on a green arrow and I got to the top of second without paying attention and slid and did a complete 180. Luckily I was able to whip it away from the median that it was headed to, and then it did the 180, not hitting anything. Lucky for me, I was the first person at the light, and the chick behind me got a late start because she was texting :chuckle: Wouldn't an LSD potentially make things worse though?

What happens to the Z now?

Im sorry i understand some people baby there cars 24/7 but if i have somthing like that its not getting babied im driving the hell out of it like it should be.

Hell i drive the hell out of my s13 and it has all of 80hp right now. :rotfl (not for long ;) 500+ is on the way as soon as i get this job)

The way i see it:

You live and learn, i defiantly learned a valuable lesson that night. I didn't think about the turn coming up and lost one of the nicest things i have ever owned. I wouldn't say it has really effected the way i drive because it hasn't, I just understand the limits of the car and myself more now before i go do something stupid like that again.

I blame it on the 3 hot chicks in the car next to me anyway. ;)


Back to the build!

pulling the dash and stuff tomorrow to put a new one in and the jdm cluster and heater core. ill let yall know how that goes.

Good news and bad news tonight.

Bad news first:

The little single slammer ate the bullet tonight, i got it home but it sure isn't pretty. i can see at least one hole in the block without turning a light on and looking in to it more.

Now you might ask yourself, What the hell could the good news be?

Rear over fenders , Front 20mill fenders, a nice new set of 275-40-18s, and a nice new set of low offset wheels with a big nasty lip are on the way.


I guess i need to look into putting the dohc in now, its a damn good thing i got my job back today....

good thing youve got another motor to go in it too, itd suck big to be stuck with a shot block and nothing to fix and replace it with.

Thanks man, the motor was built for my old s14 before i sold it, i never got around to doing anything with it so its just been sitting in the shop waiting for a good home. Just need to get a s13 dohc wiring harrnes and figure out what i did with my ems and all that good junk.

Damn dude that sucks so much about the 350z! I thought the 350z comes stock with a VLSD? And what about the insurance??? Also with the baby pic YOU WIN! haha So is the DOHC rebuilt? Since its out of the car already if its not rebuilt you mays well do it now!

There wasnt a lot that was still good one the car. The motor and transmission could have been used but the front cover got pretty beat up by the rad.

I didnt buy the car back from ins because they wanted way to much for it. I ended up making around 6k after the payout and paying it off though so it wasnt a complet bust.

Anyways back to the 40e, the sohc is coming out next weekend and over fenders and all that good stuff should be on for the next update.

Small update, I have looked at 3 motors in the past 2 days and they are all s***. I cant seem to find anything worth paying money for...the hunt is still on though.


got home from looking at another crap motor and this was waiting for me so at least the night wasnt all bad.

More s*** coming in this weekend, no real point seeing as the car dosnt even run and i cant drive it, but i guess i got it when i need it right?

on the real im really starting to get mad about all this bs.

there GSP, i know some people trash talk and bash all over GSP's stuff but i would really recommend them to anyone, i have used them on more then a few cars and know a lot of people using them. If you ask me i would say the welds and everything are up to par with megan,stance,greddy pretty much all the big name brands out there.

Anyways enough about that, if enough people wanted i would do a review of them along with there coilovers ( i had them on my old s13 and s14 along with a few friends that have them) im running megans now but i have more then enough info and personal experience to do something like that..


Got some more goodies in the mail today, cant really do much until i get a motor but hell its always nice to have 2 or 3 grand worth of parts stacked up in your room. ( not for guys that are in a relationship just fyi, most chicks see a big stack of car parts and think there getting a big high dolla gift for Christmas....."i got news for ya sweetly i kinda spent all my money on that big stack of car parts sitting in are room heres a crappy ring from sears that was on the half off shelf" ) dont think my girl is going to like this convo to much...

Small update. Got the car up to the shop and started to pull the sohc, picked up a dohc last night from an s14 to put in for the winter...

Its a 93 ka with all the s14 goodies (intake mani, exhaust,transmission) i was told i have to swap out the intake mani for a s13 dohc one? Anyone know if thats true? Ill be useing the wiring harness and ecu from the s14 car so i dont really see why i would need to change anything...

Waiting for summer to start working on getting it out of the 350 and into the 240. The s13 is my only car right now so i dont have the down time it would take to get it done right now. Im also about to move into a new house with the gf so thats taking a lot of $ away from the build. Dont worry tho its coming.

Did you get to hear and see the KA24DE you bought, before you bought it?? Hopefully you found a good one, being as how this is your only car. Anyway Good luck on your swap... and idk who told you that about the intake manifold... if its a S14 KA, Has the S14 intake mani, and your using the S14 wiring harness... Whats the problem??? You have the Megan Street series coilovers right? How do you like them?? I jus got a job, and im saving up for coilovers, and i dont wanna spend more than $1,000 and i would go PBM but they have such an aggressive spring rate and this is my daily... im throwing lowering springs and struts out the window, and going straight for coils!

Ill try to answer all your questions, if i miss one just let me know (it is 6am...)

I did hear the ka run invthe car before he pulled it and everything looked good. The main problem i am going to run into with trying to use all the s14 stuff is going to be the harness. On the s13s the front main body harness is all wraped up with the engine harness. So pretty much all my lights and everything up front are in the same bundle as the motor stuff.

As for the coilovers, love them! I got a set with around 1500 miles on them for 500$ picked up. They ride really nice ( even as stiff a i have them set) they go pretty low for every day driving.

If i had one complaint it would be how low they go. The rear is perfict as it sits right now with about a inch more low i could go, thats with the front maxed out though. If you plan on slamming your car you will have to start pulling lock rings off the front just to get it to line up with the rear. ( i havent had time to do this yet but its on the way.)

Its not to to bad. Im not to sure of the exact stats because i just set it so it wouldn't rub. I used a electric hub mount to set the toe on the front and rear though so thats all good.
