I got some megan racing adj. tension rods, and a megan tension rod support bar on my s13 and it really tied my front end together... I seen in the camel pic of yours that you still got the oems, i would get those megans... plus your gonna need an alignment after the coils and stuff...

cool deal, allen i might be able to help u out.. i got a dohc from my 96 that i parted ways with, with 124,000 miles.. its being sitting at my dads building for about 2 years, i was saving it for a dd but it looks like im not doing anything with it obviously, let me do a compression test on it over the weekend and take some pics and i will pm u....

a little about the motor..
was turbo for about a 1000 miles on a sr t28 and 370cc inj with an enthalpy ecu until i got my rb swap.i sold the 370ccs and other stuff but i got some stock injectors from that intake that i sold u and it will need an oil pan but it does have a new napa timing kit and the chain guide has bieng removed, so nomore rattle, the motor ran strong as hell but im checking it over the weekend since its being sitting for a long time, however with that being said i let u have it for cheap if the compression is good.. i let u know and if ur interested we work something out..

small update, Didnt get much done this weekend but did a litttle work in the hotel parking lot up in dinwiddie va. Drove up the night before for the import faceoff race up at Va motersports park and to say the least rubbed on every bump the hole way up there. didnt think to much about it till i got about 5 miles from the hotel and my dash lights stoped working.

Next morning i got up to look into it a little more and this is what i found.

Image

Image

Did a small wrap to cover it up and a timpary wire tuck because it was all of 35 degress outside...

Image

Still rubed pretty bad so i hit the coilovers with a couple clicks stiffer and that fixed the problem.

Image

I guess it didnt help i had a set of rims, all my tools and a friend in the car with me on the way down there..

i know that wires temporary but try and flatter out the metal where the two peices come together. the "sharp" area, pound it up and over with a hammer. youll be able to push it up a bit more and the wire wont rub on it.
the cars looking good though man for real.

Not yet, i might start back next week but i have bills do right now and getting payed every 2 weeks would mean im not looking at any $ coming in for at least 3 weeks. ( you have to work for one full week before they put you on the pay.)

Its kindof setting everything back right now ( i wanted to have the car done with paint and have the new motor in by now...

Paint will completely transform this build. It should be near the top of the to do list :)

Its the 2nd thing on the to do list after body work.

Like i said i wanted to have this thing in paint and the new motor in by now but i lost my job about a month ago so thats putting the car on hold as i have bills and other things that come first.

Im also going back to school so thats kindof slowing me down some but i am looking at starting a new job next week so if that all works out this build should be back on track.

I would say it rides 100% better then it did before, i got the rear pulled just enough that i dont need to have the car stiffer then hell. Right now it only rubs going around hard turns or going on and off bridges on the highway at 70+ ( you know how the road goes up and then drops back down? )

Its all about the setup i guess. I still need to work on the front some but theres really nothing more i can do to stop it rubbing.

You can always make the ride height of your car a bit higher...? Thats something you can do to make it stop rubbing...

Its really not that low or stiff. Im really not to worried about the rubbing ( i got most of it worked out) /its just the front rubbing a little when i take a bump hard or somthing on the highway.

I love my cars low. my ex s14 was kinda low. ( really high!)

Image

My Z was kinda low also.

Image

How about a low miata ;) I only had this car for a couple hours.

Image

And now im on to the s13. Im thinking about just getting some 20 mill rears so i can stay this low and also run a 255 in the rear.

man who the hell can even fit in a miata, my manly beard doesnt even fit in one of those things, i got in one one time to check it out and felt like my feet were gonna fred flintstone through the floor, my head would pop out the roof and my hands would destroy the interior at any moment....
on a more relavant note, i dig the wheel fitment and envy the fact that you owned a new z. could you pull out anymore to help with rub or is it done all it can do and you just have to deal? either way, a little rub when hitting a bump at 70 isnt really that damn bad, nbot great but not awful either.

Im kinda small so i could fit in the miata, I liked it a lot and it looked sick just wasn't a good DD for the price....

I could pull the rears a little more if i wanted to, right now im really thinking about just getting some 20mill over's for the rear and putting a 265 on the rear. In the long run that will be the way to go for my power goals and what i want to do with the car. Like you said a little rub at 70+ isn't to bad.

The Z was a 08 with tien springs, nismo full exhaust, intakes...all that good stuff. I lost it a couple months ago being stupid. The way i look at it, I had the right car at the wrong time of my life. Ill have another one one day.

Sorry this build is going so slow, I start a new job monday so in the enxt week or 2 i should have some $ flowing in and this should be back on the choping block .
